I was worried visiting in February that the cabin may be too cold. But most of the time we turned the heaters off as it was really warm. The “always ready” hot tub was a real highlight, not just the kids but also for the grown ups (once the kids had gone to bed!) Stayed with 6yo and a 3yo so they slept in the bedroom downstairs. We slept upstairs, as we didn’t trust them on the stairs - which are understandably steep- there are baby gates on the stairs but my children were quickly wise to them. We spotted some faint northern lights from the little window in the attic. Only draw back was sleeping upstairs is it is authentically creaky, and when my husband turned over in the night it woke my daughter below in a panic he was going to fall through the ceiling! Loved the location. Close enough to the golden circle without feeling like you were too far from civilisation. 20mims to downtown Reykjavík. It was my birthday during our stay, so the Prosecco was a really lovely touch.

Wundervolles Ambiente. Es war eine herrliche Zeit für uns. Wir hatten jedes Wetter die ersten drei Tage, vor allem Schneesturm, wahnsinnigen Regen und äußerst heftigen Sturm und haben uns in der Hütte immer zu Hause gefühl, es war immer kuschelig warm und sicher . Wir haben große Sorgen gehabt, dass wir nicht genug Lebensmittel vor dem Whiteout einkaufen konnten. Das war völlig unbegründet in der Hütte hätte es sogar Notfall Nudeln gegeben. Gewürze etc. alles war da. Es war sauber und wir haben wirklich vielen schöne Ausflüge gemacht

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Perfect! Odd and Friða’s cottage was everything we hoped for and more! It was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. Odd and Friða were wonderful hosts, very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. The highlight for us was the hot tub, especially while watching the northern lights dance across the sky—an unforgettable experience! The well-equipped kitchen made cooking a breeze, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like coffee supplies and spices. The beds were super comfortable, even the fold-out ottoman our son slept on. The provided robes for the hot tub were a great touch. The WiFi was strong, which was a plus, but the real showstopper was the view—the breathtaking fjord, majestic mountains, and beautiful horses grazing below, especially after a fresh snowfall. It truly felt like a winter wonderland. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Excellently located for short drive to most key attractions within the golden circle. Very quiet and away from the main towns so perfect for seeing the northern lights. Spacious modern house with everything we need. Dóróthea and Baldur were perfect hosts and very responsive. We must come back here!

Maggy’s cottage was a perfect stay. Beautiful views towards the lake, extremely peaceful and not overlooked. Our first visit to Iceland, and will not hesitate to use Maggy’s cottage again as a base!

Alfa and Finnur were very friendly and helpful, the best hosts!!! The house is lovely and cozy. Perfect for our family! The hot tub was the perfect temperature and so relaxing. I sincerely hope this place is available for our next visit!!!

The cabin was exactly as described, clean, easy to find, the hosts were excellent and flexible. We were so cozy and really enjoyed all the amenities. Would highly recommend. Fantastic location for exploring the Golden Circle. Thank you for a really special stay!!

We LOVED this home! Easily our favorite place we have stayed. House is very well stocked, clean and worth every penny! Plenty of room for us 6 people and the most comfortable couches, they are huge!!! Space to run around outside and the most beautiful sunrises over the lake. Shower has a rain head shower and was so nice!!! Kitchen had all we needed plus helpful extras. Felt very spoiled and sad to leave. Already talking about coming back! María Kristín was an amazing host and put all my worries to rest when we were flying in on a stormy day with weather warnings out and I was concerned about driving. She helped to make sure we were comfortable and even checked that we made it safely to the house. The best host I’ve experienced, just book the house!!! It’s totally worth it!!

Good tiny home that we used as a base camp to go exploring Iceland from during our week there. Fits the description and photos. We saw wonderful northern lights right above the house !

Duidelijke instructies van de host, snelle reactie bij vragen. Klein schattig huisje, met alles er op en er aan! Natuur is erg mooi rondom het park, voor van winkels moet je wel wat verder rijden, maar goed bereikbaar met eigen auto. Top verblijf gehad!

Gudny was an amazing, generous, and kind host. We felt immediately right at home and the home is well stocked with everything you could need as you adventure around Iceland. The location was excellent for our needs and it was quiet with beautiful views. The home was exactly as expected and the hot tub and outdoor shower were excellent! We would 100% stay again and highly recommend staying!!

Een heerlijke week overnacht in het huisje en getourt door de Golden Circle. 3x het noorderlicht gezien door weinig lichtvervuiling in de buurt! Fijn dat er vloerverwarming aanwezig was om het huisje op temperatuur te houden.

The scenery was amazing. It was wonderful to hang out on the porch, though admittedly a bit chilly in early October. The cabin was very cute, well laid out, clean, and with many small touches that made it wonderful. Only downside was that the hot water does have a strong sulfur smell and the kitchen sink is shallow resulting in water often spraying out of the sink due to the high water pressure. Aside from those two minor issues that place was perfect solitude. One other item to mention is that the nearby waterfall trail was very worthwhile. You park in the nearby small neighborhood and walk up an ATV trail. It was amazing to be the only people around the waterfall and to be able to hike further up the mountains.

We stayed with our two adult children for hunting some northern lights. The accommodation was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. A true recommendation if you look for a private, clean, quiet and modern stay with stunning views. Ragnar was always available and a helpful host.

This area was so peaceful. The cabin was very clean and comfortable.

Die Unterkunft ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um verschiedene Orte des Golden Circles zu besuchen. Bei Schlechtwetter lässt es sich ebenfalls prima im gemütlichen Haus verweilen. Die Waschmaschine war für uns ein grosses Plus.

Es war ein sehr Schöner Aufenthalt. Alles wie beschrieben. Der flexibel Check In war super. Wir konnten von der Unterkunft aus Polarlichter sehen. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind gut von dort aus erreichbar. Snacks und Kaffee waren schon vorhanden.

This is a large and private house that has everything. The host provided clear instructions for us to check in and was super helpful when we had questions. It is located near to the Golden Circle attractions (Strokker Geysir, Gulfoss and Kerid Crater). It is also near to the Secret Lagoon and Thingvellir. The big town of Selfoss is nearby too with restaurants, supermarkets and petrol stations. All around 30 to 45 minutes away from the hose. Reykjavik is only an hour's drive away! Bonus point: we managed to catch the northern lights at this house.

We had a magical time at Sabrina’s cabin! Sabrina was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed as well as close to many sights. We saw the northern lights from the cabin our first night! Unforgettable :) Book it!!!

Our stay here was perfect! The cabins are in a remote location which makes it extremely peaceful and we saw the northern lights on four of our seven day trip. The kitchen had everything we needed but there wasn’t a kettle but we got by with the boiling water in a pot. The water in Iceland has sulphur in it which makes it smell of egg and it was very strong at the cabin. It was fine to wash in and use day to day but would suggest getting bottled water for drinking. The hot tub was amazing the only thing to know is that it’s not like hot tubs in the uk so it doesn’t keep the water warm so you need to empty it and refill it to get it really warm. We had a great stay at the Blue House whilst touring South Iceland! It was close to amenities, peaceful and clean with everything we needed for a comfortable rest after a long day… highly recommended. Thank you

I had a great stay at the cabin. It is a very authentic cabin making you feel at home straight away. The location is stunning, the surrounding area blows you away, if you like trees (unique in Iceland) around you, have a view in the lake and don’t mind the kind sheeps walking around the cottage…this your place to be.
