Une vue incomparable sur le volcan, le lac, et la nature. Le logement est spacieux, confortable et très bien équipé. Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir observer de nombreux oiseaux depuis la terrasse : toucans, colibris, etc…

We enjoyed our stay! It's a nice, clean home with scenic views in an authentic, safe community. We bought a few basics for breakfast (eggs, queso blanco, milk, coffee, juice) at the nearby community mini-market (a few blocks away) so we could make breakfast at the place. If you want fresh fruits & veggies, you should stop at a bigger market on your way (La Fortuna? Or El Castillo?). We ate dinner twice at the nearby La Terraza restaurant, which was good. We loved the batidos de fruta (fruit smoothies/shakes - 'de leche' ('of milk') . My favorite is the batido de papaya (de leche). My kids also tried the strawberry, pineapple, maracuya (and I think others, too!). We enjoyed the dishes we had there, too. Internet at the house can be spotty, but there's some cell reception, too. If you're on vacation and just checking your email from time to time and researching things to do in the area, it's fine; if you're looking to be a digital nomad, this is probably not the place for you.

Es gibt wahrscheinlich kaum einen schöneren Blick auf den Arenal See. Die Anreise ist zwar etwas beschwerlich, aber jede Anstrengung wert. Der Whirlpool with a view war unser Lieblingsplatz. Cristina hat sich super um alles gekümmert und war jeder Zeit erreichbar. Empfehlenswert ist auch der Ausritt in das idyllische Umland. Die Küche ist trotz ihrer Größe eher basic ausgestattet, aber ansonsten ein sehr komfortables und vor allem geräumiges Haus.

Jonka House is a beautiful, private retreat away from the tourist centres. The house is very clean and well equipped, the pool was great to swim in and they cleaned it every day or two and the yard has lots of colourful plants that attract wildlife. We saw many bird varieties, lizards and iguanas in the yard. There is a chicken barn next door so you can hear them clucking quite early but it’s not too noticeable. The hosts were very responsive and quick to attend to any issues we had, they even brought us fresh coconuts to enjoy. I would definitely recommend Jonka House, you won’t be disappointed.

We loved our stay! The property is beautiful and private, a serene hideaway in the rainforest while being close to La Fortuna attractions. We arrived later than expected and had to find the house at night, which was tricky. A helpful tip if you’re in the same situation: look for the driveway immediately after the bus stop on the left. The house was spotless, easily the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. It was well-stocked with everything we could need, including a Christmas tree! While the lack of rugs or wall coverings made it a bit echoey and sparse, it stayed wonderfully cool. The outdoor area was a highlight, with a fantastic space and a large table for dining al fresco. The pool was excellent and watching the wildlife was a treat, we even saw the sloth! One thing to note is the few friendly dogs who hung out around the property and marked the porch. While they weren’t aggressive, it’s worth mentioning for future guests. Overall, this was a fantastic place!

My husband and I really enjoyed the cabin especially the cows that was roaming around at night that gave us a little surprise. Andres was always responsive and very accommodating . Enjoyed sitting out, drinking our coffee, looking at the beautiful lake and enjoying the peacefulness around us .

Amazing hosts. The place had a spectacular view. The hot tub and pool were an awesome touch. The hosts were proactive, kept in touch to checkin and make sure everything was acceptable. Location was a little tricky with dirt road entrance for only about five minutes. Was close to the lake and activities. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend!!

Logement avec une vue imprenable sur le volcan Arenal. Les activités et des restaurants typiques sont à proximité. Le logement correspond totalement à la description et la communication avec l’hôte était parfaite. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

The view over the lake arenal is just phenomenal! The house has a huge garden with some fruits, herbs & vegetables wich we were allowed to eat. We can for sure recommend.

Greetings, I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. We loved the views of the lake and mountains. The view from the living room is a constant reminder of the incredible natural beauty of Arenal. We enjoyed how the morning light fills the house, especially the main bedroom. We cooked almost every day. Great stove and a well equipped kitchen was a plus and saved us a lot of money. The house is cozy with great views. The grounds are beautiful and enhance the surrounding natural beauty. We really enjoyed the quiet comfort of the house and the environment you have created. Was very happy with our one month stay at Bory's place. Beautiful little town perched above Lake Arenal. Different views of Lake Arenal and volcanoes as you walk around as well as the view of the lake from the rear of the apartment unit. Lots of attractions nearby waterfalls, the lake, Hotel Arenal nearby and others. The town of Tiliran which is nearby can be accessed by a 500 colone bus ride (about 1 dollar us) or a cab 4000-5000 colones. Bory's and his entire family are very nice hard working people. We stayed in his higher priced unit he also has a smaller more economical unit available. The apartment everything was functioning correctly, internet was fast and reliable, washer and dryer worked well. We were there for an entire month couple of power outages for a very short period of time which is normal in Costa Rica. The shower was better than mine at home relaible hot water. Would return again without hesitation.

Amazing views! This condo was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect as a base to visit all the places around Guanacaste.

Es una casa grande, súper equipada, muy limpia y cómoda. El área de piscina y bbq es hermosa. Muy felices de habernos alojado, volveríamos sin pensarlo.

La pasamos muy bien, un lugar rodeado de naturaleza, privado. La casa impecable todo muy limpio y ordenado. La cocina cuenta con todo lo necesario. Fabricio siempre estuvo atento a si necesitábamos algo. Sin duda esperamos volver en algún momento. Les recomiendo este lugar sin duda!

great place to get away from the city and tourism. I only gave the location 4 stars because it is about a 15-20 minute drive to get into town for the average tourism things. It was a very wonderful place and very kind host.

Magnifique séjour! La casa 1 était exceptionnelle, idéal pour une famille. Nos enfants ont adoré la piscine et voir tous les animaux. Un vrai petit paradis. Je recommande fortement ce logement.

Since the day we booked with Kees he initiated communications with some information needed prior to our arrival. It was very easy to find the place, even without Kees's detailed information. Upon our arrival, Kees personally greeted us which was truly refreshing since we live in the days of self check-ins. For a small fee Monte Terras BnB offers every day home cooked breakfast, which we gladly accepted. Kees makes the best Duch pancakes this side of the Arctic circle! We arrived in the evening so when we woke up next day, we were treated with a beautiful garden in front of our cabin full of life. Just a few steps in, you will find a sloth, porcupine and quite a few tucans. The cabin was very clean with all the amenities you may need. You can find local grocery stores and restaurants in the village of Tronadora that are within a walking distance. We arrived as strangers but Kees and his wife Gris, with their warm welcoming, made us friends. We will certainly come back! Pura Vida!

This was property matched the description and the pictures well. El Castillo is a more peaceful area than La Fortuna and close enough to feel like you can go back and forth without any issue. The view from the porch hot tub is stunning and makes up for the rustic amenities within the cabin. There was daily construction starting at 6:00am on the house next-door, however, so I probably would not have chosen this property if I had known that before-hand.

A very interesting location. Pleasant farm trails leading to a campground with breathtaking views. Probably would be better to have a futon downstairs to sit and watch TV and then turn into a bed for the evening. Kenneth was very friendly and left us coconuts in the refrigerator and fruit on the counter.
