What a fantastic stay we had! Lee was super helpful and patient when we needed to adjust the dates of our stay not once, but twice. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable, and the kitchen extremely well-equipped with everything we needed for self catering. It was great to have a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The projector in the lounge was a fabulous, fun addition (my 10 year old watched a lot of YouTube on it...) and it was great to have a regular TV in the kitchen too. Of course, the highlight for us was the hot tub and swim spa -- absolutely outstanding, lovely and warm on arrival (and again, spotlessly clean). Our kids are 12 and 10 and LOVED the swim spa pool. The hot tub is incredible, and my husband and I enjoyed that as the sun was setting (the lights around the garden fence are lovely). The variety of bubble/jet settings were great. Having Lidl, Aldi, and Iceland a 3 minute walk away was very handy, and the big Morrisons is just a few minutes' drive.

This hidden gem was perfect for our family getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. we were welcomed with a smile, and a beautiful home made cake and loaf of bread, as well as a fun "boo-basket' with hot chocolate, smores ingredients and a pumpkin to carve. cottage was exactly as described and clean and tidy. we loved the indoor swimming pool and games room, allowing us the holiday fun irrespective of the weather. The Coachman Inn pub only a mile away, had the freshest pint and one of the best steaks we've ever had. close to Pickering, were we took the steam train to Goathland, and Dalby forest to go swing at Go Ape and ride bikes. and only 30 mins from Whitby to get a dose of sea-side and fish n chips! the grounds of the cottage were beautiful too, for a lovely evening stroll, where we met the sweetest chickens and ducks. Truly a fab week away to recharge the batteries !! thanks so much!! and will definitely recommend!

Lovely, cozy little place in a nice, peaceful location with convenient walking access to Whitby via the Cinder Trail, and a very short drive from local Supermarket. We appreciated the pool. We also enjoyed ducks wandering around the site, and hearing the hoot of an owl in the evening.

Fantastic weekend was had with 11 adults and 2 dogs, everyone was very happy. The house was beautiful with everything you will need and more! The evenings in the garden were a dream. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Perfect location. Perfect house. Perfect host. I stayed in Orchard House with my husband, daughter, son in law and two grandchildren aged 12 and 14. The host was so kind and had left milk, bread and a home made loaf for us. One morning we found a bowl of peaches from her garden on our doorstep. Jacqueline is nice and friendly and is available if you need to know anything. We loved everything about the house. Plenty room for us all. Great sized living room. Kitchen come dining room was ideal as were the 3 bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The appliances are new and of the highest quality. Also made use of the log fire when we returned at night. We all enjoyed the swimming pool and table tennis. These activities were such an added bonus. A quiet peaceful location close to so many beautiful villages. Visited Thornton-le-Dale, Malton, Pickering, Scarborough, Filey, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, and went on the NYMR steam train from Pickering to Whitby.

We had a magical stay at Apple Cottage. The garden, glass house, chickens and ducks were a cottage life fantasy, we did not want to leave! The pool was amazing. The local area was pretty and we would definitely recommend a trip to Thornton-Le-Dale.

Absolutely beautiful house!! EVERYTHING that you could possibly need for a few days away! We had 4 generations there to celebrate my 60th birthday and everything was perfect!! We’ve only been left a few hours and the grandchildren are asking when can we go again?? We would all love to return in the future!!

Had a lovely stay at Roberts place. It was spotless throughout and had a really cozy modern feel. Really comfortable furniture and beds. Had everything we needed. Highly recommend. Cheers again Jonny

Really enjoyable few days on the East coast. Lovely cottage, exactly as described with great touches, particularly the trampoline!! I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a well placed cottage in the Whitby area

Our stay at Summerfield Bungalow exceeded our expectations. The space feels homely and welcoming. Michael had sent clear instructions on how to use appliances (which you don’t often get) so we knew how to use everything in advance. We loved the views, it is literally from every window! Seeing Whitby Abbey from where you are staying is something else. This has been such a pleasant stay and definitely in our top 5 places we’ve visited.

Thanks to Sarah for letting us stay. The place is so convenient for the beach and it was such a treat to have a house to retreat back to. Great communication from the host (we needed assistance working the heating). We hope to come back again!

Lorna's place provided a great base for our week in Whitby. Right next to the viaduct with Whitby just a 15/20 minute walk away. Great views of the Abbey and the Esk valley. Lorna was responsive and pro active in communication and answered any questions we had.

We stayed at Virginia House as it was close to a local wedding venue. The house was lovely, very homely, modern but with lots of character and very well appointed with everything we could have possibly wanted. It was perfect for our adult family getting ready for the wedding and relaxing the day after. We had a refreshing walk and then a delicious meal at the local pub and the locals were all very friendly. We would all recommend Karen’s property and would love to stay again.

Ideal location for us to be able to visit family who have recently moved to the area. Also a great location to visit many local attractions. The house was clean, warm and cosy, and we have enjoyed staying so much we have booked to return in June.

Fantastic little stay, house was easy to find and instructions on everything was clear. Nice quiet area and the house was lovely, Jenny was a massive help and quick to reply.

Peaceful quiet location. Near train station. Clean . Generally well equipped, although a few bits of cutlery and crockery missing but nothing major. Comfortable beds, pillows not to my personal preference as very hard, but overall an excellent stay and I would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend.

We had a lovely short break. The cottage is located perfectly for visits to the coast and local towns and villages. The courtyard garden was secure for the dog and lovely to sit in the sunshine. The cottage had everything we needed and Adrian was really helpful. Thank you for having us.

Stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my Mums 80th with family from near and far. The house is beautiful inside and out, loads of space downstairs, loads of en-suite bedrooms with super showers, loads of hot water and large comfortable beds with nice sheets. The house is fantastically equipped for catering for larger numbers and there was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. There is also loads of parking. We enjoyed a BBQ over the weekend and a lovely family meal around the huge dining table. Coming from Yorkshire we know how beautiful the area is and enjoyed a sunny day in Whitby on the Saturday. We didn’t need to contact James during our stay and he provided all the answers to my questions promptly in advance. I’d really like to return to this house one day. It’s fab!

This home is well-situated, within walking distance of the town and yet it is quiet and peaceful. The amenities in the kitchen were extremely good and the fact that there were three toilets great. The outside area was very good.

Only been home for a few hours and already missing the view from the front garden. I honestly could have just stayed and asked for a job on the farm! Will definitely be back. Helen is a delight and very helpful. The house has everything you need and lots of space. The kitchen was mine and the dog’s domain. It’s honestly a beautiful place. Quite off the beaten track so do use the what three words as it takes you straight there. I am already looking at return dates and may just come with me, myself and I…and the dogs of course. 😊
