Luigi was extremely friendly and informative by providing all the information we needed to enjoy the Fiesta in Santa Cruz. He even drove us to the fiesta and walked around with us to explain the area. Luigi offered us beverages upon arrival. You should know that this area worked for us because we were going to the fiesta however it can be noisy at night because it is located right beside the highway. There were also dogs barking throughout the night which made a good sleep challenging. Luigi gets 5 stars from me because of his attentiveness and for being very welcoming.

Bert was a great host. He was there to greet us and describe the 2 beach access locations which was amazing to have both options! The pool and yard were great to lounge in the afternoon and read my book after a full morning at the beach and walking to town via tamarindo beach. Bert was kind enough to offer us day passes for a beach club and gave us discounted breakfast recommendations to sueños for our inconvenience due to some seemingly light construction going on in the neighborhood. We don’t even hear construction anymore in the big city where we live, but it was the nicest gesture and just goes to show how thoughtful and considerate our host was! Overall an amazing stay and we can’t thank Bert enough for his hospitality! 10/10 recommend and would stay again in the future!

This was a lovely landing pad for the five of us – it was our last night before heading to the airport early the next morning, which took an hour and 15 minutes. The location, was peaceful and quiet and nice to have the beach close by. The hosts gave us very detailed instructions on how to get there which was helpful. Thank you!

I had an incredible stay at Joe’s place! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, and the space itself was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. Joe is a fantastic host—super responsive, friendly, and always happy to help with any questions or recommendations. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the beach and great bars, yet tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful. One of the highlights of the stay was the private “rooftop”, which offered a great spot to relax.. As someone who needed to get a bit of work done during my trip, I really appreciated the little desk setup. It was comfortable, and the fast internet made working remotely very easy. I can’t recommend Joe’s place highly enough and would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks again, Joe, for such a wonderful experience!

Such a great spot! Only 10-15 minute walk to the beach and shops/restaurants. A perfect place for a getaway and also perfect for working from home!

Michel and his wife Lia are wonderful hosts! They have created a lovely, modern little cottage on their property that includes access to their sizable plunge/swimming pool whenever you want— and the warm sunshine every day will make you very thankful that the pool is right there— and covered as well! There is plenty of room to sit on the very comfy pool furniture, and we spent more time around the pool than at the beaches! Loved it! The small cottage where you’ll stay is just steps from their home, and has everything you’ll need. Groceries are within walking distance, the beach is one block away, and they can give you dining recommendations or suggest anything else for that matter. These are the kindest, friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. I will also mention that their place is in a working-class neighborhood, so cars, motorcycles, barking dogs and roosters abound. It all becomes background soundtrack pretty quickly, but bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

The Casita was lovely! Beautiful appointed, had wonderful views and the town is very unique and well laid out. Close to all of the towns amenities and easy to get around as long as you can handle stairs. The beach is very nice, easy for swimming and there are many hiking and biking trails in the immediate area. The only recommendation would be to bring your groceries in with you. The town has a lovely little general store that is well stalked, but it is quite expensive. Don’t bother with the local currency as it is all US dollar based and most places did not have change. Credit cards only

The listing was exactly as described, and Lyndsey was both friendly and quick to respond. Her pre-arrival instructions were really helpful. The outdoor shower and bathroom were spotless, private, and added to the experience—there’s nothing like showering under the stars. With the bar and restaurant right outside the door and the beach just a few steps away, it’s the perfect spot for a convenient and romantic stay. There’s also a chill cat on the property who adds to the laid-back vibe, and a few friendly dogs on the beach who just wander around enjoying the sun—they really make the place feel even more inviting. Plus, with multiple local restaurants within a short walking distance and a small fully stocked grocery just a block away, it’s an ideal spot to soak up the area. Would definitely stay again!

Mayte et Yeudin vous réservent un accueil charmant et exceptionnel, toujours disponibles et attentifs afin de rendre votre séjour parfait. Ils donnent également d'excellents conseils pour les visites de la région. Le logement est très bien équipé, même pour un séjour de longue durée, et le lit très confortable. Le logement est très bien situé entre mer et volcans. Les plus belles plages sont proches (25 minutes) et très faciles d'accès tout en étant à l'écart du tumulte touristique. Cela permet de vivre une expérience authentique de la vie des ticos, à moins de 10 minutes de la ville de Santa Cruz qui dispose de tous les commerces et facilités. Bref, j'ai adoré et je le conseille vivement, c'est une perle.

Extremely responsive and knowledgeable hosts. We were greated right at the door and received a wealth of recommendations around the local attractions and wildlife. The gardens around the guest house were stunning! The hosts also included beach chairs and coolers for use at the beach which we found very helpful. My one critique; this is very much not a private stay. While still a highly rated experience, the blinds would not fully close and the outdoor pool/garden area was very open as it sits right behind the hosts home and had a camera. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend!

The room had a really clean look with no clutter. Everything you will have at your home she had for you. The pool was clean and cool. I felt safe because of the locked gates

This was the perfect stay for our trip to Playa Hermosa. Walkable to the beach with good yet inexpensive restaurants we made ourselves right at home. We explored other beaches and found great snorkeling nearby. The outdoor kitchen was actually a plus! Easy to use and handy. The pool was a treat too! The town is quiet and friendly and we became acquainted with a few of the restaurants. Great food nearby! Shelley was very responsive and made great recommendations for touring with Daniel ! Take a tour if you have the time! Parking on site in a safe location was a plus as well. The bed was so comfortable I will miss it! Highly recommended we would return! Thank you Shelley.

The location was a close and convenient walk to the beach, the room had a beautifully minimalist design, I appreciated the hot plate as it was enough to make breakfast each morning. I was tired and arrived late and had difficulty realizing that the door handle itself had the code to enter, but the host responded within a minute to let me know so I was able to get in. There was a cafe nearby that had good smoothies, as well as a sushi truck, and a mini-market was about 10 minute walk where we could buy enough to cook some simple meals. The courtyard was also very nice for taking a break from the beach - it had some shaded areas and the small pool had a nice fountain which made a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Monica’s home was an amazing find for our family of 4. It was the perfect size and it was even nicer and more spacious in person than the photos online. The pool and turf yard provided endless entertainment for our boys. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and sunsets at the beach. The kitchen has all the essentials, the beds were super comfortable, and the bathrooms were beautiful! We loved the outdoor shower. We hope to be back in the future.

Beautiful, spacious, and comfy studio! Perfect location! Very quiet at night and super safe! On top of everything, there was one night that we could hear the howling monkeys basically in our backyard! Amazing!!!! I will definitely stay here again! The host was very responsive as well!

Quiet place, just like in the pictures, easy access, super clean and spacious, lots of beaches near by to go. We really enjoyed our time, wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the future.
