Rebecca was a wonderful host! She was incredibly friendly and helpful with anything we needed. I fully recommend her and her property for anyone traveling through the area! The home is beautiful, private, and just perfect for us!

We had an amazing time at Raum's Hollow for our 2 families. The kitchen was well-stocked and the lake was such a hit for our tweens and teens - they loved kayaking, there's a hill to fly kites, and it's quiet and peaceful. A great getaway close to great hikes.

Such an amazing stay! felt like a home. everything was clean. patricia was very responsive, helpful, and kind. we had an issue with wifi and she sent someone over within 20 min. will definitely be staying here again.

I had the most relaxing stay at this beautiful farmhouse! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean, peaceful, and private the entire property was. Nestled on two acres of pure serenity, it truly felt like a secluded retreat perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The home itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is large and roomy for meal preparation. I especially loved how quiet it was, just the sounds of nature and fresh country air. If you’re looking for a private getaway that combines comfort, cleanliness, and tranquility, this is the perfect place. I can’t wait to return!

The cabin was cozy with a spectacular view of the Ohio River. Having a good stove for cooking was nice, as there aren't many restaurants in the area.

Great spaceous place with beautiful view of the Ohio River.

Beautiful location right on the river. We enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning and sitting out on the back deck watching the boats go by. We hiked Rim Rock, Pounds Hollow, and Garden of the Gods in SNF. The jacuzzi tub was so nice after a long day of hiking. The kitchen could use some bakeware, but was stocked with most of the essential. This place was the perfect retreat for the two of us.

This is a great location for a great price! Wi-Fi and cell reception was spotty but we sort of expected that for the location. The place is clean and has everything you need to make meals. The view off the back deck was awesome, so cool to look at the Ohio river and see Kentucky on the other side. I would definitely stay again but I would bring food to cook at this place as there was not an open grocery store in Golconda besides Dollar General. We drove to Cave in Rock to eat at their outdoor restaurant and it was not worth it. Should have just stayed and enjoyed the views at Matt’s place. I would have also brought more bedding as the bedding was clean but basic sheets and blanket. Really nice large jacuzzi bath tub and single shower. Everything you need with easy check in/out and great communication from the host. We stopped at the main welcome building and the lady working was very nice and helpful with suggestions/answering questions.

Jack was very accommodating and friendly! Had a slight issue with the wifi and he got us into another cabin with working wifi. Overall stay was great. Went down to hike for the day and the cabin fit the peaceful vibes.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was spacious and cozy. We had wonderful nights together making family meals, playing games, tether ball, and enjoying the hot tub. During the day we explored the nearby Garden of the Gods (a must), Lower Rim Rock, and Cave-in-Rock. We loved our time in the country. As city folk from northern IL, it was fun to see how different and hilly southern IL is!

Shawnee Forest Cabins were a great place to stay after hiking the area all day. The cabin was cozy, easy to find, and very clean upon our arrival. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. If you utilize the hot tub, make sure you look up and appreciate all the stars!!!

Took a romantic getaway with my fiancé. The camper was homie and intimate, and the hot tub was clean and relaxing. Loved it and would definitely love to come again soon.
