Second time staying at this property and it’s a lovely experience and lovely area off the beaten path. Very quiet and clean. I’m appreciative of the hospitality that both Sharon and Stephen showed me. Will be going back for a 3rd time in the future.

Where do I start?! Robynne and Dave are everything that is good and right about Airbnb: inviting, loving, friendly, caring, and truly invested in making sure their guests have a good experience while sharing their home. We had a wonderful time chatting with our hosts and meeting the huskies, who are probably the sweetest and most well-behaved pups we've ever met. The unit is so well-appointed with everything you need, you basically only need to bring your clothes. So cool to have camp chairs, beach bag, and cooler! The space is new with a full kitchen, large tile shower (the softest towels!), very comfortable king bed, and mini split AC for cooling off after a hot day. We spent the mornings on the covered lanai drinking coffee, listening to the waves crash a couple hundred feet away, and watching the geckos and anoles catch some morning sun. Robynne put a lot of effort into her guide book and the local knowledge made our trip even better. We are coming back next year!

We had a great stay. Beds were so comfy. Best ones during our whole trip. Jenny was responsive and helpful. Location is great. 5 min drive to a lot of restaurants as well as the farmers market. Would def recommend and stay again. Mahalo Jenny!

This was a perfect place to have breakfast and get ready for another amazing day in the Hilo area. It is super clean and the bed was very comfortable. That means a lot to me! Nice little deck with beautiful furnishings. The price was reasonable, and we felt safe. Thanks again for the super clean updated place. Will recommend to others.

This place was a gem! It looks better than the pictures. Very spacious, very comfortable and homely and extremely clean! It had everything one could need while visiting Hilo. It was clear that there was a lot of thought put into this place with regard to guests comfort and needs. Rhonda and Jeff were very kind hosts. I will highly recommend their place and love to stay here when we visit again. Easily the best airbnb we’ve stayed in! 10/10

This place was just what we needed for our stay. It was easy to get to the Volcano National Park, other sites and restaurants. I would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makuu Palms. The setting was beautiful, private (although you might have neighbors in the other side of the house), and convenient for our needs. The place was perhaps the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, and given the tropical conditions (including critters) that’s really saying something. It’s an easy walk to the ocean and although there is no beach the ocean spot is really special - we loved it. Michelle and her husband were kind, helpful, and respectful. We visit this area at least once a year, and Michelle’s place will be at the top of our lodging list. Looking forward to our next stay.

Amazing location and great hosts! Had a great time at Kathy's place - perfect spot to explore the east side of the island. It's close to downtown Hilo, and both Volcano National park and Mauna Kea are a little over 30 minutes away. Would definitely consider again. One word of caution, sensitive sleepers should bring earplugs - the house is in a residential area with plenty of wild chickens. They can get loud in the morning.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our time at the house. It had ample space and beautiful surroundings outside. We felt right at home here with everything we needed to cook together each day and even fun pool toys for our days outside. We would definitely return!

The Hilo Bay room and adjoining property was a wonderful experience! Everything was super clean and the hosts thought to include anything you could ever need. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean and soft. The bathroom was clean and spacious with good water pressure. We loved how quiet and peaceful the property was and it was only a 10 minute drive from Hilo. Great place and would stay again!

The pictures didn't do the house justice. It was an amazing home base for our family during our stay. The host was great to work with as well.

My family loved this stay! The called it “the jungle house” because all the jungle sounds surrounding you at night made you feel like you were in the middle of a rainforest. Beautiful home. Well stocked. The screened porch with extra seating was our favorite spot for games and conversation. The host was awesome with many local recommendations and extra details. Hope to stay again!

Harlan and his wife were nothing short of amazing. I have never had such a great experience with an AirBnb as I did with them. They gave very helpful tips, suggestions, and clear instructions to make the check in and out process go smoothly. Their place is newly remodeled and beautiful. We all felt very comfortable and at home thanks to Harlan and his family!

Es war sehr ruhig und abgelegen . Ein Auto ist erforderlich, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Das Wohnzimmer ist abends sehr warm und ein weiterer Deckenventilator wäre schön. Um die schöne und großzügige Aussenterrasse zu nutzen ist es empfehlenswert Mückenschutz dabei zu haben.

I have never had a place we stayed where it was so hard to leave. This place was amazing for our family. The pool was worth gold for us with the fun lights that could be changed and waterfall too. The house was very clean and comfortable and kitchen had everything you could ever need for cooking a meal with beautiful lanai with BBQ too! Kimberly was very communicative and responsive with local and other island recommendations. Absolutely wonderful place that I would highly recommend!

They were so flexible with the checkout process and check in. Room was very clean. Definitely would stay again.

I loved the balcony, listening to the birds chatting and you're not too far from downtown.

Great place, literally paces from a BEAUTIFUL lagoon and beach filled with turtles and fish. Nice quiet road dotted with 4 or 5 beaches/parks, and about a 3 mile drive to the shops/grocery stores to keep the kitchen stocked. Also had a French press so we could enjoy our fresh Kona coffee every day.

Concierge service amidst a natural lagoon setting with all the amenities one can just enjoy a worthwhile experience from the two lanais!

It was a staycation for me and my wife. We live on island. Nice to spend some time in Hilo. Liked the ducks in the complex, pond and waterfall, nearby Wailoa Park. aloha

This is a unique, older complex and the units are efficiencies that come with a nice size patio. We were there in February and enjoyed sleeping at night with the cool night air blowing through the screen patio door. Once you get used to the area noises, it makes for good sleeping. What is nice is that the place comes lightly stocked, or they leave the donated items from other guests for future guests. I would rate this a 2.5/3 star accommodation, but very clean. It does not have central air, but it does have an external source to cool the unit. The building’s small laundry room was convenient and clean. We did not use the pool as the water was in need of a good shocking. There is a golf course that borders the back of the complex with a walking trail to the ocean. The people we met in the complex were friendly and helpful. Downtown Hilo is just five minutes away. We enjoyed our stay here and would return again.

Very impressed how clean the space was. Great location within Hilo. You do have to climb one flight of stairs to get to the condo.

We had a great stay at this spacious apartment in Hilo! The neighborhood was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable, making for a restful stay. The hosts were friendly and provided clear instructions, which made check-in and our overall experience smooth. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed. While the suite is on the older side and had a mild musty smell, it was very clean and well-maintained. Parking was a bit tight for our Jeep which the host has mentioned during check-in, but we managed to fit, and there was plenty of street parking available as an alternative. Overall, a great stay in Hilo!
