Wainui beach is a fantastic location with surfer like atmosphere. The house was elevated from the sand but 10 stairs away. House has very high ceilings making it seem huge! The living areas face the beach. We had 3 couples staying and it was perfect.

What a great week we had at Nicky’s! The architectural home was really cool, and a perfect setup for our family. The real gem is the property - there is so much to do and explore! There’s a whole separate area down a small hill from the house that is a magical step into the lovely surroundings; so much local flora and fauna to discover! Great house with kids as there was no lack of screen-free entertainment. Would go back in a heartbeat!

What a beautiful place. Went there beginning of 2025 and again for my birthday early February. Absolutely loved it and a beautiful long beach. Good to walk or run on. Surfing spot.

We had such a lovely time at the property, thank you. Plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors - nicely decorated and homely. Fantastic heated swimming pool! The kitchen was really well equipped - the coffee machine was excellent. Also really appreciated the aircon on a hot day. Would love to come and stay again sometime, thank you.

Probably my favourite AirBnb so far! Stunning home, gorgeous views, friendly welcome and had everything needed and more! They have thought of everything! Also had the best sleep ever, I didn’t want to leave. I will be back as soon as I can!

This is a large and well appointed house in the suburbs of Havelock North. Richard and Lucy have renovated the property to a very high standard and it is extremely clean, modern and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you might need with a good coffee machine and lots of pots and pans. We were particularly impressed with the spice drawer! The bedrooms are large and all have air con which came in useful on hotter nights. We enjoyed using the heated pool, which is fully gated, which was great to keep our toddler safe. The garden is also lovely and secluded. The outside deck gets a lot of sun in the day but when it dips behind the trees there is an outdoor fireplace and plenty of wood so you can still sit out. We enjoyed barbecuing into the evenings. Lucy and Richard live on site in a nearby building but we felt totally private and undisturbed. We would highly recommend this property for families visiting the Hawkes Bay.

We absolutely loved the house, and our stay couldn’t have been better. It’s a spacious home with everything you could wish for. After a long day, it was a real treat to relax in the hot spa, and the boys especially enjoyed the sauna. John’s communication and the information he provided about the house and Taupo were wonderful. We would highly recommend booking this house for a fantastic experience, just as we had.

Tolle Unterkunft, gerne wieder!

Setting is gorgeous, with the stream at the rear being a particularly nice touch. The interior gets quite hot but AC works well so this isn’t a big issue. There is a second identical unit next door which I thought gave a neighbourly feel, but wasn’t something we were aware of initially. I don’t think it would have changed our mind in any way, but just thought it worth raising. Lastly our check in was seamless, but I thought the comms from the host were a touch impersonal as all messages were automated. Also all messages stated the rules again and again, which made it feel a bit more like a school tour than an Airbnb lol

Rose was an amazing host, topped only by the wonderfully unique experience offered by her seaside cabin! It was a true escape from the mundane, requiring a short drive on unpaved paddocks to access, adding to its charm and authenticity. (When returning after dark, watch up for furry and featherly neighbours!) You are then greeted with a self contained tiny home nestled between Rose's well groomed farm and the untamed ocean. This is a truly secluded retreat with beautiful sunrises over the pacific, dancing birds, meditating goats and endlesdly soothing sounds of crashing waves. The cabin is well equipped with a mini kitchenette (no microwave), heating, luxurious bathroom and cosy bedroom with a beautiful view of the ocean, and external utilities including a fire pit, BBQ and even a canoe (we did not brave it). Rose was an amazing host, greeting us on arrival and teaching us how to access the cabin. Her Sunday only cafe, the Farmshop, is also highly recommended, especially the pizza!
