We had a great weekend overall staying at Overlook Nook! The house looked just like the pictures and was well cleaned. The hot tub was nice as well (after it took a little while to heat up). You can’t tell in the photos, but the house is located very close to other houses and is on a crowded street. So, it isn’t a private, secluded rental. But, it was very conveniently located so it was close to many things! The only cleanliness issue was a few stains on the king sized comforter in the primary bedroom. Also, as some other guests mentioned, you have to take your trash with you to avoid paying $50 for trash removal. Although it was an inconvenience, we thankfully didn’t have much trash. Overall, our stay was great and the house was located within an hour to a lot of popular places which was great!

Great view. The place is such a cozy feel to it. Hot-tub was so relaxing and it was amazing seeing that the bathrooms had extra items for us just in case we forgot anything. Everything is in great working order. Highly recommended spot.

We loved this cozy cottage, especially the fireplace and hot tub! It was a great place to work and stay while my son was snowboarding. Can’t wait to go back!

Our family loved this house and our stay! We love Maggie Valley and visit at least once a year. This time we wanted something in town instead of on a mountain since our adult children were driving in and meeting us. This place was perfect. All the kiddos (adult and littles) loved the hot tub and fire pit. The dogs loved the back yard and being able to run around without a leash. The house was very clean and had a little bit of everything you would need. We all had a lot of laughs playing all the board games and was perfect for our night in before heading home the next morning. Samantha was very response and helpful when/if we had any questions. We will definitely be back to stay here again.

Loved our stay! It was wonderful to just unplug a bit, enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods and play some board games with our kids. It was quick access to the Cataloochee Ski Resort once down to main road which was our main purpose for the trip. The Only thing I wish I had known prior to our arrival was the last of grocery options, had I known I would have made sure to stop and stock up prior to our arrival.

Beautiful comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay and the forest privacy. The owner was always available for any questions we had. The creeks nearby were fun to visit and listen to. Just remember the main highway entrance and exits are all u-turns for safety. If your gps does not show a u-turn it is wrong and keep going to be safe.

Super responsive host and a beautiful property! We’d love to stay here again. It felt like home.

I can't emphasize this enough, but the pictures of the cottage don't do it justice. I was a little sad, because it has such a great aesthetic and I wish our house looked this way! It is the perfect place to read some C.S. Lewis or Tolkien. The cottage has a very traditional style with beautiful furnishings and many interesting books. Beyond that, the location is a very short walk right into the heart of Waynesville. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family, and we'd love to stay here again. Make sure to take a look at the binder on the coffee table, as it has a brief history of the cottage and its origin. Thank you for the awesome experience!

We had a very relaxing time where we disconnected and reenergized. Secluded, yet close to everything. Walt and Charlie were very friendly. Hosts were very responsive. Definitely recommend and will return.

This lovely cottage was so amazing. We loved being there for the weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to return in the future. The kitchen had everything you need for a getaway. The linens were all comfy and great. It was so nice to be welcomed by their sweet dogs and we enjoyed visiting the chickens. It rained while we were there and loved hearing the rain on the metal roof. Claira, Andy and their children were so kind.

Wonderful place and location. We had walked by the house several times during our previous trips and had always wanted to stay there. It met all our expectations, which were high since my wife has loved the place since for years. It perfectly mixes updated services without sacrificing the mountain style in which the cottage was built. Easily walkable to downtown shopping and restaurants but also having a peaceful backyard that is perfect for some quiet time and contemplation. We would love to stay there again.

This mountain house was an absolute gem! One of the first things we appreciated was the paved road leading up to the property—it made access so much easier, especially in the mountains. Once we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible view, which really sets this place apart. The house itself was fantastic, with a private downstairs living area that provided a quiet, cozy retreat. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a bit of separation, whether for extra privacy or additional guests. The water pressure was excellent, which is always a nice surprise in mountain homes. Everything from showers to washing up was seamless and enjoyable. Suzy, the host, was simply amazing. She was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, even going the extra mile by sending a weather update for the day it was expected to snow, which was really thoughtful. It was such a pleasure working with her, and her communication made everything smooth and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better exp!!!!

Doug's home was exactly how it was presented. This location was perfect for us, it was a general location to where we needed to be to assist with Hurricane Helena relief. We came to assist the farmers and was a perfect central location. Was a very warming place to come back to in the evenings to relax. I highly recommend this home to anyone!!!

This is our third stay. We love coming here. Love the house and location. Always pristine clean and quick to respond if anything comes up. Near all our favorite things to do.

We felt very comfortable and at home. The cabin and the efficiency over the garage were clean and comfortable, with lots of parking. Loved the visits from the cows each day! Lots of seating on the gorgeous porch was wonderful. Access to the house was lots easier for some of our seniors because of the ramp instead of steps. Super private and quiet with no traffic noises, despite being close to things to do in Waynesville and Maggie Valley, as well as the National Park. We had a few questions and one concern, and each time we reached out, we got a quick response and patient, friendly help. The trip up the hill was a bit of a nail biter. Try to get there during the daylight hours.

Nice location, tasteful property

We had a great stay at The Waynesville Cottage. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The cottage was clean, open, and comfortable. The location was quiet and peaceful, but close to groceries, Lake Junaluska, and restaurants. Robin was one of the most hospitable hosts we have met on Airbnb. She was friendly, helpful, and available for any questions we had. We will definitely come back!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this beautifully located airbnb on the Tuckasegee River! Vacasa reached out to us early the morning of check-in giving us the opportunity to check-in early if we wanted to which was nice. Price per night for the size of the place was a little steep, but you have to take into consideration being right on the river and close to so many places in Dillsboro. My favorite part was the wrap around porch with plentiful seating to sit by the river!

Susan has appointed Wren Cottage to feel just like home. Games, books, a fully stocked kitchen (useful as I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner there!) and her original artwork for sale were all really personal touches that we loved. Her guidebook to the cottage and surrounding was really helpful. We loved being near the creek and near the cute little town of Waynesville, with great restaurants and shopping. Really clean and spotless! Love, love, love.
