There's a reason (actually, a lot of reasons) this place is rated so highly. The house is beautiful and comfortable. We had a few concerns about staying so far from Kona, but it ended up being one of the best things about our trip. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful, and there's a grocery store, great food and even shave ice within 5 minutes of the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean, and so we ate in fairly often. An unexpected perk was all of the beach toys available to use in the laundry area. So nice to have! The caretaker downstairs is also very quiet, and super friendly. And Mikael is a fantastic host. Yes, there are signs all over the house. Some are helpful and some feel excessive. And it can get pretty warm when it's hot outside (90 in November was surprising!), but neither of those things are enough to remove even half a star from this experience. We've already recommended the house to friends, and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Great property! The birds at night was a bit loud but close the windows and sliding doors and turn on AC illuminated the noise.

A Nice cozy place with good views

Sandra's place brings healing. It is beautiful, quiet, and serene. The views are lovely of ocean below, and the wind blows quietly through bows of citrus, avocado, and palms. There are likely multiple Walden Ponds on the Big Island of Hawaii, but this is one of them. Tranquility reins at this property.

We loved our stay here! Great view from the lanai every morning and evening. Great location right on Ali’i Dr. Kevin and Cindy had great local recommendations. Our next trip to Kona we will be booking this place again! Thanks to the hosts for making this part of our vacation super easy and stress free!

We enjoyed our stay in Kona. The complex was lovely with parking in front of the unit. We used the community bbqs every day to cook meals. The view from the patio was amazing, and Carol's place was perfect for our family. It was very clean with everything you needed for the beach. Umbrellas, towels, lawn chairs, and snorkeling equipment. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.

We had a fabulous stay. The location was great, very relaxing. Everything was super clean with lots of amenities. The lanai was fantastic. Denise was very nice and quickly responded. Would highly recommend this place.

Rebecca's place was super clean and very comfortable. There was little clutter and the rooms were very spacious and well appointed. The beds were soft and comfortable .The bathrooms were very well stocked and the kitchen was more than adequate. Some reviews mentioned the A/C limits which prohibits going below 75 degrees. We live in a cold climate and never turned it down below 76. It felt just fine. The pool and hot tub were great to unwind on after a busy day of exploring.

Our stay was amazing and they were both so helpful and responsive. The space advises there are footsteps upstairs but you never really hear them and it really is your own little space.

Linda welcomed us and showed us her garden, explaining about the local plants, was thoughtful with the kids — and of course we love the gentle, friendly dogs. The place was as described, and a great location for visiting green sand beach, volcanes national park and black sand beach. Very clean and homey. Thank you!

This was our third time back and Laura’s place is beginning to feel like our home away from home! It is cooler than downtown making it feel perfect outside and in. The view is lovely as well. There was plenty of room for my 4 adult sons to spread out and stay content. I would definitely come back!

This is an amazing home. Best described as a quiet and peaceful setting with some of the best ocean and sunset views anywhere. A short drive from great beaches and national parks. Both the host and the local property contact are knowledgeable, responsive, and great to work with. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The Aloha House is spectacular in every way. From the beautiful and peaceful garden to the wonderful wraparound deck, accessible from the bedrooms, and overall comfortable accommodations. It is steps away from Manini Beach which is a total paradise - you can put a kayak in Kealakakua Bay just feet away, walk two minutes and swim in the bay or watch dolphins from the beach. Beth is a wonderful host. Can’t wait to go back!

The location of this property was beautiful right on the water. You could fall asleep listening to the waves crashing onto the shore. The property was well stocked with everything you might need which was very helpful. The host was very communicative and helpful.

It’s conveniently located close to the airport. Easy check in/out. We also appreciated being able to do some laundry. Thanks Ania and John!

The house is magnificent with breathtaking views. They have everything that you would need. We are asians and we were surprised to find even chopsticks and a rice cooker so that was a nice surprise. As far as all the beach gear they had it all ( canopy, body boards, snorkel, umbrella, beach chairs, coolers, water shoes, everything that you would think of, they have it). No need to worry about missing an item. The only downside was that there was no A/C but they have heat extractors fans and regular fans everywhere and the weather in hawaii is nice enough that we dont think that we would have needed anyways. Overall, great house to visit with a large group and we plan to come back. Thank you so much for being a great host.

We had the most amazing stay in Kona at Richard’s place. The house truly felt like home away from home for a week. The pool and outdoor area were fabulous with breathtaking views of the ocean. The inside was perfect for our family from the dining area to the tv area to the game area where we gathered to play some of the games Richard had on hand a few of the evenings we were there. When we go back, we definitely want to book Richard’s place again! We sure miss being there this week!

Aloha, We go to Kona every year from Maui for a soccer tournament and Joanne’s place was perfect!! Walking distance to Alii Drive and all the restaurants and bars!! I would highly recommend her place. She was fast to respond to any questions and had some great local advice!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 Would definitely stay there again!!

Beautiful place and great to work with! Would do it all over again

The Pagoda House is a destination in itself! We explored the island from there, but also spent time just hanging out in the garden and pool. GORGEOUS! It was well appointed for our extended family gathering.
