This property was perfect - great location, felt like home, and was super clean. The hot tub was a big bonus and the proximity to the ocean was really nice. Akiko gave a ton of recommendations nearby, all spot on. Great restaurants, great beaches and just a wonderful area to explore. Thank you!

Very comfortable. Good ventilation with windows with screens. Excellent bath. Good cooking facilities. Short walk from train station and to beach. A delightful apartment with a lofted sleeping room. Clean and cozy. Would return without hesitation.

We loved our time in Kensuke's Hut by the beach. The 100 year old Hut was full of charm and authenticity. We liked how there was a light rattling of the windows during a rain storm, and we enjoyed sleeping on futons upon the woven mat flooring. The beach is right down the street, and shops galore are all nearby. The shower water was wonderfully hot, and the heating system kept us comfortable at night. We recommend this stay to all who want an authentic experience:)

This was our first trip to Japan, and we stumbled across this airbnb and we're really excited. We were a little nervous though about being in a foreign country for the first time and navigating the area. Ai took that worry away. He picked us up from the station, took us grocery shopping, took us to the fishing store, and provided complete transportation to the island via boat and car. We even had an unforgettable experience going on a fishing charter. Meeting and getting to know him and his wonderful wife Lan made the trip tremendous and special. The view is breathtaking, and walking around the island is peaceful. Ai let us use the car to get around the island, which was great! No matter what you need, he is there! I can't thank and say enough good things about both of them. I now consider them good friends rather than just hosts. Can't wait to come back and visit ASAP. You can't go wrong with this airbnb!

テニスコート、室内サウナ、使いませんでしたがジャグジープールあり、たのしみました。 食事は、鍋をつけました。 お魚がぶりぶりでとてもおいしかったです。 麺、ご飯がついたので、夜は麺、朝は雑炊にしました。味変に山椒辣油など持参するといいです。

This was my second Airbnb stay in Japan, and it didn’t disappoint. The property is brand new, stylish and offers everything you might need—from cooking utilities to hygiene products—free for use. I needed a quiet space to finish a work presentation, and this place was perfect. The building faces the Pacific Ocean, offering a stunning and unobstructed view. The clean, deserted beach was ideal for reading, strolling and morning yoga. Everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. The interior was unique, with a stunning red theme, a super comfortable bed and a strong shower. It even had a work desk and chair, perfect for remote work. There’s a small pool outside (likely summer-only) and outdoor showers for surfers. The owner recommended a French bistro nearby—it was AMAZING, with delicious food and a friendly French staff. A seafood restaurant is also within walking distance. Getting there is easy by JR Wakashio line to Wadaura Station (~2 hours). Free parking lot next to the building.

忘れ物をしたのですが、わざわざ近くまで届けてくれて大変親切に対応いただきました。次回も是非宿泊したいです。 室内はとても清潔で使いやすかったです。窓が大きく、開放的で海の近くに遊びに来ている雰囲気を楽しむことができます。 強いていうと、うちは小さい子どもがいて、階段が急で危なかったので階段にセーフティがあるとよりありがたかったです。子連れで利用されるご家族も多いと思ったので、今後のご参考になればと思い、記載します。ホスピタリティーも含めて全体的に大変満足で次回も是非滞在したいです。今回はありがとうございました。

I think that Chie's guest house is the most beautiful and peaceful airbnb I've stayed at. Separate from their main house, you get the whole guest house to yourself which allows for privacy but is also right next to their house in case anything happens. both her husband and daughter were also very kind and recommended some great restaurants and places to go nearby. while it is a little out of the way from kyoto, I would recommend it if you want a calm lakeside getaway, and I would definitely recommend it during late spring and summer so that you can take advantage of the water activities. I will definitely stay here again the next time I come to Shiga.

This is a great option if you are staying in Naoshima a couple of nights. Lovely little comfortable and quiet cottage about 3 minutes walk from the yellow pumpkin and the local bus stop. Be warned you need lots of 100 yen coins if you are using the local bus. First night we did dinner in the village 15 minutes walk away and then walked up to Benesse house museum which was super quiet and a fantastic experience. Next day we hired electric bikes and toured around the island seeing the other museums. Would highly recommend and this cottage is the perfect base. I would recommend packing really light as there’s not much space on the bus for big bags, we sent most of our luggage on to our next stop. Also plan your meals and bring some snacks as there’s no food nearby.

Loved our quick stay here. House is clean & spotless while having all the things we needed to feel right at home. The place has character and is decorated well, doesn't feel like some heartless airbnb unit, feels like a home. Very much appreciated that!
