Utrolig fantastisk hytte med skønne omgivelser! Man følte sig hjemme fra man trådte ind af døren. Klart et sted man skal bo på sin tur til Island!

Sehr schöne Hütte, besser als auf den Bildern, besonders wenn man abends in den Hot Tub ging und noch die LEDs einschalten konnte oder ggf Musik mit dem Handy verbinden. Alles war wirklich super. Das Highlight waren dann die wir auch noch sehen konnten. Alles in allem gab es nichts zu bemängeln, die Gastgeber sind top und gehen sofort auf alles ein, erklären es detailliert und sind sehr freundlich. Man hat hier seine Ruhe und ist mit dem Auto in ca 15 Minuten in der Hauptstadt, und in ungefähr 45 Minuten am Flughafen Keflavik. Es war wirklich eine schöne Zeit und Island ist einen Besuch definitiv Wert. Wir hatten in nur 4 Tagen fast alles: stürmische Winde bis 100 kmh (was die Hütte ganz locker wegsteckt), sehr viel Schneefall, Sonne, Kälte, Hagel und nicht zu vergessen die unglaubliche Natur, egal in welche Richtung man fährt und man muss nicht mal sehr weit weg fahren um unglaubliches zu sehen...

We absolutely loved staying at Hjörtur’s property - peaceful, private, cosy, welcoming and exactly as described. The hot tub with geothermal water was the highlight, as it allowed us to observe northern lights from the warm embrace of the healing water, leaving our skin and hair super soft and our bodies and minds super relaxed. The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle and we couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience in Iceland. Hjörtur was fast to respond to our messages and was extremely helpful. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, private retreat, with options to hike and explore stunning Icelandic landmarks. We will be back!

Our stay was great! We wish we could’ve gotten there earlier but only having a couple of days in Iceland we wanted to see the sights. It was a perfect place to stay, enjoy the hot tub while watching the northern lights, and then be able to catch our early morning flight! U. Katrin was so kind and quick in all of our conversations. Beautiful place, right in the heart of Golden Circle, short drive to some of the most beautiful places Iceland has to offer. Host went above and beyond what you would expect, and they left lovely gifts on all the beds for us. I consider it a privilege having stayed there with my family.

Great place to stay! Location is isolated, you are completely alone in the area (3 cabins in total). It was clean, cosy and relatively spacious. We loved that there were enough dishes to cook with, pepper salt and basic herbs. There even was hot cocoa powder wich we loved! The hot tub was very nice and hot, the massage jets didn’t work but that did not bother us.

A stunning little cabin with a great view! Was very comfortable for the two of us, and we really enjoyed our four nights there. Nice modern touches with just the right amount of space, and superb location along the golden circle. As noted in another review there are some amenities that aren’t listed but were greatly appreciated. An airfryer, a nespresso machine, bath robes (ideal for going out to the spa in the cold), and a stunning sauna with a large window with a view. I will say the kitchen had all the basics you need, especially for a short stay. With us having four nights we felt a few more things would have been nice, but we easily made it work. Owners were very responsive and checked in on us to make sure things went smoothly. 10/10 recommend.

Elín’s “house of happiness” is nothing short of a dream come true! My husband and I loved every single second at this incredible secluded cabin outside of Selfoss and already dreaming of our next trip back. Elín is a warm and accommodating host, you won’t find a lovelier and more thoughtful host out there. And don’t get us started on the outdoor shower! It has the perfect temperature and pressure! Do not hesitate to book this stay. You’ll be so happy you did it! Thank you, Elín for your hospitality! We’ll be back!

Waren nun zum zweiten Mal in der Unterkunft. Schön ruhig und abgelegen und dennoch sind Selfoss und oder touristische Ziele schnell zu erreichen. Selfoss und der Krater Kerið in ca 15 Minuten und der Nationalpark Þingvellir in 40 Minuten. Ideale Ferienwohnung für 2 Personen die im Urlaub abschalten wollen. Auch der Kontakt mit Steinunn ist schnell und unkompliziert. Nächster Urlaub ist schon in der Planung.

Ci siamo trovati veramente bene! L'alloggio aveva tutto ciò di cui avevamo bisogno, era pulito e ordinato! Lukas è stato veramente gentile e disponibile!

Margrét è stata fin da subito molto disponibile a soddisfare le nostre richieste. L’alloggio è lontano dalla città e quindi dall’inquinamento luminoso. Un posto perfetto per chi cerca l’aurora boreale che si può vedere tranquillamente appena fuori dalla porta. La tranquillità e l’accoglienza di questo piccolo chalet lo rendono un posto unico e assolutamente consigliato.

We had a fantastic time at Straumnes cabins. The cabins are very peaceful, and in a beautiful setting on the lake. We were spending a couple of days doing the golden circle and South coast and the cabin was perfectly located for this. The communication was great, the cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, and lovely and warm. Many thanks to our host for a great stay. We would highly recommend the cabin for family's exploring the golden circle that want a peaceful stay in the countryside.

Votre cabane était agréablement boisée intérieurement comme extérieurement, de plus la douche fut un joyeux moment pour profiter de la vue de la rivière. Super logement, on aimerait y retourner.

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

Diese Unterkunft ist traumhaft und idyllisch, mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet und sehr bequem. Nach einem langen Fahrt von Akureyri nach Süden wir sind einfach in einem Paradies gelandet-so hat auf uns die Unterkunft gewirkt! Versteckt zwischen Bäumen und viel Blumen , wunderschön ausgestattet und mit eine großartige Terrasse vorne ! Wir werden diese drei Nächte lange in Gedanken behalten! Eidur ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hat sofort geantwortet und ein paar gute Hinweise gegeben was wir noch sehen können. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können nur dankbar sein und weiter empfehlen! Wirklich ein Paradies!

What a beautiful little place! We absolutely loved it here. A very very peaceful location with a wonderful view. The accommodation itself was so cosy and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed (apart from a kettle that we couldn’t seem to find). The hot tub was super special and would have been PERFECT for aurora viewing had the cloud coverage not been 100%! Regardless we loved relaxing in it, a very special place. The only negative was the bedsheet was old and bobbly and for the price paid I would have expected a new, un-bobbly sheet! Apart from that, absolutely fantastic!

The hot tub was super relaxing and the host was very quick to responding. Everything was clean and nice. The view was beautiful and we saw the northern lights from the hot tub!

Tolle Lage! Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft und haben die Ruhe genossen.

Great little place! We're unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the view because it was so foggy and rainy the day we were there but we could tell it would have been beautiful. We loved seeing the Icelandic horses right outside our door though 😊

Heerlijk verblijf gehad en genoten van de mooie omgeving! Daarnaast helpt de host je altijd snel met vragen en was alles aanwezig in het huisje om je dagen door te komen. De basis artikelen waren al aanwezig en het huisje is heerlijk. De slaapkamer bovenin in de kruipruimte was wel erg smal. Kom je dus met 4 personen hou er dan rekening mee dat het vrij smal is en even klimmen om bij deze slaapruimte te komen. Bereik was daarnaast ook slecht in het huisje en geen wifi. Al deze punten waren voor ons geen probleem en hebben enorm genoten en zouden het zeker iedereen aanraden!

Matthildur's cabin was lovely, we had a great time there. He was very responsive and helpful when we had a hard time navigating to the cabin. The cabin itself is beautiful. The decor is lovely, and had everything you need to be comfortable. We would highly recommend this place.

Such a peaceful, sweet and beautiful cottage! Great location! Comfortable beds, nice kitchen, great set up for resting and being together. Host was so great! She had great suggestions on what to do in the area and also for our next stop on our trip! We hope to be back ♥️
