We stayed at Bjorn’s house for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for exploring beautiful West Iceland. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Bjorn was responsive and informative. Would definitely recommend staying here.

If you have a big group (6-10), want privacy and a quiet secluded place right outside Akureyri, you must stay here. The hot tub was a PLUS! You can see the northern lights from this cabin or a 9 min drive to a much darker location (Gasir). Akureyri is beautiful and its own city has everything you need. The host gave us an option to stay due to weather (as long as they are not booked the next day), but we had a tight schedule and had to leave to a different location. Thank you, I highly recommend and we will come back!

This was our favourite stay in Iceland! It was beautifully nestled in the snowy mountains. The facilities were great, and the hot tub out in the snow was incredible! Would highly recommend staying here!

The house is as beautiful as the surroundings. The furniture and finishings were beautifully crafted and very comfortable. You had the convenience of being in a small town to grab a bite to eat or run down to the store for a few groceries, but you also the breathtaking landscape views Iceland is known for. This was a wonderful place to stay and when we go back, we will be checking this listing first to see if it's available!

We had a lovely stay and appreciated the proximity to the southern coast sights. The host was very responsive and flexible about our check-in. We previously stayed in the cabin before the new addition, and the new wing of the cabin and the hot tub and deck are wonderful. Comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms, and the perfect amount of space for our family of four to spread out after a day of exploring! A great home base for the south coast!

This was the perfect stay for our 2 families of 3. Beautiful home in a peaceful location. I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Gunnsa and Oli were. They were so responsive and helpful with our stay, recommending a taxi driver and making inquiries for us related to activities we wanted to do. The check in and check out was SO flexible and easy- the hosts were just amazing our whole week, going above and beyond. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home in Iceland.

Our little cabin was tucked away off the road a short distance. Although there are other cabins nearby, there was definitely a cozy feeling in the cabin and it felt very private. In the right conditions, this would be an amazing location to see the Northern Lights. There is almost no light pollution. Highly recommend this location for anyone who would like a quiet place to relax.

One of the best places we stayed while in Iceland. We were able to walk to the private black sand beach to watch the sunset. So picturesque and beautiful. The yurt was very comfortable. The heated beds were perfect. Even caught a glimpse of the northern lights! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Elín’s “house of happiness” is nothing short of a dream come true! My husband and I loved every single second at this incredible secluded cabin outside of Selfoss and already dreaming of our next trip back. Elín is a warm and accommodating host, you won’t find a lovelier and more thoughtful host out there. And don’t get us started on the outdoor shower! It has the perfect temperature and pressure! Do not hesitate to book this stay. You’ll be so happy you did it! Thank you, Elín for your hospitality! We’ll be back!

Waren nun zum zweiten Mal in der Unterkunft. Schön ruhig und abgelegen und dennoch sind Selfoss und oder touristische Ziele schnell zu erreichen. Selfoss und der Krater Kerið in ca 15 Minuten und der Nationalpark Þingvellir in 40 Minuten. Ideale Ferienwohnung für 2 Personen die im Urlaub abschalten wollen. Auch der Kontakt mit Steinunn ist schnell und unkompliziert. Nächster Urlaub ist schon in der Planung.

great location. beautiful view. responsive and accommodating host. audur helped us with suggestions and advice. she even ordered and picked up pizza for the family since we were delayed by a road closure and were arriving when most restaurants were closing. great experience. pictures don't do the view and surroundings justice.

Das Appartement war sehr schön und gemütlich. Wir fühlten uns vor beginn an wie zu Hause und genossen die Ruhe auf dem Land sehr. Tolle Lage für Ausflüge zum Golden Circle und weitere Orte. Würde sofort wieder buchen.

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

Séjour inoubliable avec nos 2 filles dans une vallée au bout du monde sous la neige, accueillis par Mickael aussi chaleureux que l’ambiance de son chalet. Si vous aimez les grands espaces à l’écart de la civilisation, ce lieu est fait pour vous. Aurores boréales le premier soir, baleines à Davlik, bains chauds à la piscine de Davlik et des balades enneigées. Nous repartons enchantés. Merci Mickael.

This cottage was the perfect base for us to explore the Golden Circle and South Coast. The small town of Hvolsvollur has a grocery store, liquor store, gas stations, restaurants, and a municipal pool. We ate at the Art Cafe and Gallery Pizza. We saw the Northern Lights while sitting in the hot tub, so awesome! We cooked two dinners there, did laundry, and slept well.

Edda's place was wonderful!It's location is perfect as it is about 15' walk away from the center and the parking is free and easy if you follow her instructions. Everything was clean and tidy, and Edda herself was friendly and very responsive to all our questions!Highly recommended!Thanks for everything!
