We loved this beautifully designed and decorated timber-frame barn in hilly, Illinois farm country! Jilly and KenBob are warm hosts who welcomed us with convivial conversation and our pup with a canine chorus.

This was our second time staying here. We enjoyed it so much before and that's why we came back again this year. The cabin had all the comforts of home, except a TV and internet, which we appreciated because it gave us quiet time to spend with each other. We only ended up staying one night as the weather was not cooperating with our plans. The place was cote and clean and close to the parks we were hoping to visit. Elaine gave lots of local recommendations. Hopefully we will be back sometime.

Elizabeth is an incredible host and her house truly feels like a home away from home. The upstairs was the perfect little private loft for my youngest. She was able to play music and games, as well as watch tv and we never heard a thing during the entire visit. We opened the door to the stairs a few time just to make sure she was still alive up there it was so quiet. The bedroom on the first floor was more than ample with a luxurious amount of closet space. We settled in to her home like it was our own. The town is really a lovely spot in its own right. We’ve used AirBNB in Chicago before and usually we spent every moment in the city as the surrounding areas weren’t appealing. This spot made it very easy to get around if you are walking & you could get to a bunch of other hot spots with a quick drive. There is even a wonderful park & fishing a few minutes away. just about any spot in town was under 30 minutes. Best of all Elizabeth is an absolutely joy to work with, so just book it now

WOW! The sunsets on this property were amazing. The amenities were a bonus and I am definitely booking this place again. The location was close to some neat hiking places. Overall HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing getaway!

I stayed at the cottage for one month, as my home in town was being renovated and I needed somewhere to stay. The cottage provided a cozy, comfortable, and private space. The description was accurate. The view of the river was calming and the fox that visited during the winter storm was a highlight of the stay. That is certainly memorable! Very relaxing! Enjoyed the wildlife and views. Had everything we needed. Host was nice to communicate an early check-in opportunity. The location was convenient to services in town. We really enjoyed the Millwork District on the Iowa side.

We had a wonderful stay! We haven’t ever been to an Airbnb before with so many food amenities and snacks! Was above and beyond expectations!

My wife, friends, and I were in the area for the Tunnel Hill 100. The location of the house was great. Only about 25 minutes from Vienna City Park where the race started. There was plenty of room for all of us. The home was exceptionally clean, and the views of the lake were amazing. Megan was a great host. She quickly answered all of the questions I had and kept in good touch with us. I am considering returning to the race next year. Catching Rays is definitely a place I would return to.

Crystal’s little cabin was very cute and cozy and a fun place to stay. We saw deer by the pond, heard a hoot owl at night, geese in the morning. There was even a turkey that gobbled one morning. We didn’t see it, but my husband heard it. For a couple of people, this is a great place. I highly recommend it!

Me and my partner stayed here over the weekend and all I can say is this was the best weekend I have had in a long time. April was a great host always kept in contact with me and was there for me if I had any questions. The cabin was clean from top to bottom you're surrounded by nature and it is so peaceful. I was able to go fishing at anytime something I live to do so that was great you wasn't that far from stores like a Walmart or a Starbucks. But overall I rate the Lilypad 100/100. If you want to getaway for the weekend this is the place to be that's if you want peace and quiet and you love nature.

We had a lovely time at the cabin! The hosts were communicative and let us check in a bit early which was amazing. They also had great recommendations for us. We had a cozy time even when it rained all day after coming back from shopping in Galena - took a nap and watched movies. This was the relaxing weekend vacation we needed!

The Virginia Lake Cabin is on a beautiful lake. The property is very peaceful. Love that this peace of history has been preserved for us to enjoy. The cabin is bigger than it appears in the photos. The soaker tub is amazing. The bed is very comfortable. The trail around the property is tranquil. The generous sample of honey is delicious! Would love to come back & enjoy some of the warmer outdoor activities that this cabin offers. It is close to Springfield if you want to explore some of the things they have to offer. Lots of history on Lincoln, the Dana Thomas House, shopping, etc…
