Shelly & Ken are amazing hosts that know the importance of little touches around the home! We were so impressed with the details they have painstakingly put into this Bed & Breakfast! Spectacular historical buildings and modern amenities made this a weekend to remember! The food! The mattress and bedding! The family photos and artwork! The 2 lil doggos!! The lil mouse peeking off the Grandfather Clock!! Thank you for making my husband’s birthday weekend more than perfect!

This is a beautiful old home kept in great condition. It was cozy, spacious, and comfortable!

Paula was kind and helpful. My bedroom was lovely with an en suite private bathroom and comfy bed and recliner. It’s quiet in the country. She also provided a delicious breakfast and was flexible with last minute changes to my check in.

Barbara was a delightful and attentive host. She was very friendly and responsive to questions. I especially appreciated the flexibility she was able to give us with check-in and check-out times. We stayed in three of her rooms (Madrid, Venice, and Vienna), and the were all stunning. The continental breakfast was as delicious as it was beautiful. I recommend this wonderful B&B without reservation, and look forward to future stays!

Ms. Barbara is an absolute doll! She was very accommodating and always quick to respond to messages. Her breakfast is amazing and I loved that she used local products as well. Each room has its own unique style and I was really interested in the stories of each room. The bathroom and tub were amazing- it brought back memories from my Grandma’s house when I was little. The house has history as well, and the atmosphere was super cozy. The bed was almost too comfortable to want to get out of :) We will definitely plan another visit as soon as we can, and hope that Ms. Barbara isn’t booked up at the time. Thank you again for EVERYTHING, Ms. Barbara!!

We loved our stay here. It was a beautiful home that was close to the main street and attractions. We were even able to walk to the Rubiyat restaurant and enjoy an evening stroll. The bed was comfortable and the room was perfect for the two of us. Melissa made a delightful breakfast and the most delicious pumpkin scones. My only regret was I didn't stuff more in my pockets. :) Check in was easy and there was no problem getting in. We did end up leaving before breakfast on our last day and hadn't received check out instructions before hand. We sent a text and got a quick response although we had already left. The stay was more expensive than we would normally like to spend, we have stayed at other bed and breakfasts and paid much less. We imagine the prices were inflated because there was an event in town.

Great place for a good night’s sleep. So friendly and cozy. The president’s room is full of history, too. Very fun.

Diane made us feel right at home! I brought my boys basketball team for a tournament in Bettendorf and Diane elevated our experience in Iowa. She let us ride horses, bought the team pizza, made breakfast, had a work out facility and multiple tv’s so the boys were able to game together. I know the boys and I appreciate the hospitality and thank you for making our experience memorable!

Needed a place to crash at last minute. Check in was confirmed right away and the place was sparkling clean.

We enjoyed our stay in the Elisabeth suite. The guest and common spaces are cozy and inviting.

The room was beautiful, and the proximity to Cornell's campus and to downtown Mt Vernon was perfect. Kim had my room ready in advance of check-in time and generously let me "move in" early--a much-appreciated kindness. I'd love to stay here again and highly recommend the venue!

The house was a beautiful retreat and the hostess was so kind and resourceful.

This was by far the best experience me and my wife have had at an Air BnB/Bed and Breakfast. As soon as we booked, Miriam got in touch with us and sent us a list of cool places to visit and things to do. As soon as we arrived she was waiting for us on the porch and have us a tour of the property. Our room was great, it had everything you needed.The bathroom was beautiful and she had the shower stocked with homemade soap, shampoo, and conditioner. At night time she had the livingroom stocked with good wine for a nightcap. There is a complete kitchenette with a refrigerator and anything you need. In the morning Miriam made a delicious breakfast and had orange juice and coffee ready for us. Im a picky eater and she had heard that I usually only eat a poptart for breakfast so she went out of her way and made me a homemade poptart dish along with food for the other guests. She was so sweet and had such good stories. Shes so easy to talk to. We walked away with a lifelong friend.

Jeremiah and Sheryl were excellent hosts! The house was perfect for a weekend away. Attention to detail and making sure the weekend was perfect, was much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

I love when my kids walk into a space and are just in awe and then start exploring. The design details were spot on. Without hesitation, I can recommend a stay here. From the description it was clear the entrance was from the garage, but this was not the primary garage so at the time it was not in use. I have stayed at other places where you heard the hosts coming and going - not the case here very quiet. There is a basic park across the street with lots of space. Someone even left a basketball for use which was nice bonus. We didn't venture around town or the area - just passing through.
