I know it is trite to say, but this felt like my home away from home. Where to start...Greg and Leslie are friendly and welcoming, without being intrusive. Their property is massive and there are trails you can walk around, or watch out on the water. My words can not describe just how beautiful the surrounding area is. You would just have to see how surreal it is in person. The backdrop of snow capped mountains behind the water would make the best postcard. The home inside was also very charming. When most air bnb's are glorified hotel rooms, Greg and Leslie's home takes you back to childhood in a special way. The decor hold memories and let you know a loving family lives there. Lastly, you can't beat the location. I wanted a place in the middle of nowhere, and I got that. I wanted a central location so I could go where I wanted in the region, I also got that. Any other place I could find similarly were either cabins or shipping containers in an arbitrary spot. I can't wait to go back!

Beautiful views from the great room, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice hot tub, even a foosball table.

We had a wonderful stay at Hayats home. They welcomed us like family and opened up they’re home to us. They have a beautiful view of the mountains and fjord from the dining table. They gave us lots of great recommendations of restaurants and other places to visit. We would definitely recommend her place.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus von Jona ist sehr gemütlich, hat allen Komfort und nach einer Wanderung in der Nähe von Nupur konnten wir im Whirlpool super entspannen! Es ist eine sehr empfehlenswerte Ausgangslage für Ausflüge in die Westfjorde (Dynjandi etc). Und wir fanden es besser als auf den Fotos dargestellt….

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway... this is the place. This home is in a very small village and it's super peaceful in a beautiful place. There is a town about 20 minutes away with a grocery store and restaurants. The house itself is very cool. Looks just like the pictures, no surprises. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The bedrooms are comfortable and welcoming. Plenty of towels and linens. Lots of space to spread out in the house. The hot tub was such a nice bonus after the long drive from the city. I would go back and stay here anytime. The host was super communicative about the town, the house, and things to know or look out for.

A quiet retreat in the Westfjords not far from the town of Isafjorda. The home was clean and peaceful and gave us room to spread out. It has a beautiful view of the mountains flanking each side of the fjord and was very private even with other homes nearby. We appreciated having a hot tub to relax at the end of the day and access to a laundry room.

I was skeptical of the other reviewers saying this stay was the best part of their Iceland trip, but it's true- the house and location are amazing - a bit of a bumpy ride getting there, but you're rewarded with amazing views of the fjords, stars, and during my night, the northern lights. The house was really clean and very cozy - made me wish I was staying more nights. The location is remote so definitely make sure to pack food and drinks for dinner / breakfast, but I also found the drive to Isafjordur an hour away very easy to do. There is a hike you can do from the place that takes you to a lighthouse, and you can walk down to the water.

Leslie and Greg’s place made us consider the possibilities of moving to the area, or having regular retreats there. It’s so beautiful, peaceful, wild, and all around amazing nature on the fjord. We loved going down to visit the seals especially, one which we named Bernhard, so say hi to him when you see him. We initially had concerns about the drive to get there, in part because of worsening conditions for the time of year but also in part because we made a poor choice of only having a 2WD car. Leslie and Greg recommended that we will be fine and they were absolutely right, and thankfully they communicated with us well because we nearly chose to not go to the north and the fjords, but their communication put us at ease. An absolutely wonderful experience and we can wait to return to the region one day, hopefully to Leslie and Greg as well
