Lovely airbnb, easy to find and great location on the beach. Close to the shops and only a few mins drive from some amazing distilleries. Highly recommend

Rona and Alasdair were FANTASTIC hosts, and the house was the perfect place for a retreat with friends. Rona and Alasdair continually communicated with us, including when we had a small heating issue (not their fault but the result of a massive storm on the island), and they made us feel at ease in their home by reaching solutions ridiculously quickly. The house is far enough outside the village of Port Ellen to provide privacy and close enough to walk (20min). The views to the bay, big kitchen table for group meals, and wood-burning fireplace made for a 50th birthday experience me and my friends will not soon forget. All too often Airbnb accommodations are purely transactional - a place for a fee. This is NOT the case with Rona and Alasdiar's place: We all felt welcomed and at home. If you want a retreat with friends, this is a perfect place on Islay.

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. The location is perfect and overlooks the sea. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well-equipped. The communication from Nicky was excellent.

So pleased we found this lovely home in a very quiet and remote location on the island. Refurbished to a high standard and fully equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend if you would like to get away from on the hussle and bussle of everyday life.

Delighted to get back to Islay and bring some first-time visitors with me. Pier House was perfect for our trip with lots of space and very well equipped for a larger group. We really appreciated Tina being so quick to respond when our ferry was cancelled and we needed to stay another night! Thank you, and hopefully we'll be back.

Excellent place. We’re hoping to visit again for a longer stay. Polly was very clear in her communications and recommended us some nice walks to do around.

Arguably the best location on the island in terms of accessibility - 5 minute walk from the ferry, absolutely fantastic shop and the nook chippie right next door, 5 minute walk to the cafe, 2 minute walk to the boathouse and 5 minute walk to a lovely little beach to let the dogs run around and explore. As we stayed off season we were aware that the local amenities were on reduced hours or closed for the winter but it didn’t impact our time on Gigha as there is plenty to see and do. Highly recommend a dip in the sea at the twin beaches! Nicola was available for all our queries and responded immediately to our messages and calls - highly recommend this lovely home. It was also lovely to be greeted with some local milk and tablet and the dogs were not forgotten either with treats provided to welcome them also. Thanks, we will be back!

If you are looking for a place on the great Isle of Islay this is it! Not too far away and just enough to have a relaxing time. Was here for 3 nights and place was perfect for short morning drives to Portnahaven, Port Ellen, Bowmore. Small little pubs/restaurants were perfect. Just make sure to book a reservation if you do look to eat. Got a chance to visit 6 distilleries while on the island. Great spot, family loved and and drinking coffee every morning or a wee dram every night watching the lighthouse was amazing…we will look to be back

Our time at Davaar was absolutely amazing. The place looks even better than in the pictures. Felt incredibly cosy and relaxed. Toni and Ned are wonderful hosts that made our stay perfect. The cabin is equipped with everything you can possible need. Waking up with those views was absolutely delightful. Our dog was very loved by Toni and Ned and fed him lots of treats that he clearly appreciated. Thank you so much! Ben, Maz & Odin

Lea’s apartment is beautifully fitted out and equipped with everything we needed. It is warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and within easy walking distance of all Campbeltown’s attractions. Lea got in touch on the day of our arrival to make sure all was well. A perfect place to stay and a perfect host.

Had a lovely stay. House was perfect for us. Very spacious. Great wood burning stove with plenty of wood. Great location to walk to the Boathouse for dinner or to the lovely gardens at Achamore House.

The Drum is an amazing, unique property set in idyllic surroundings and an ideal base from which to explore the whole of Kintyre. David is an excellent host and made is feel very welcome. The Drum is highly recommended!

Fantastic short break at Ellister Lodge, worked really well as a base for our distillery exploration. House is perfect, comfortable and well equipped, with great views across Loch Indaal. Kitchen and living room add character to the house. Would definitely recommend it and would visit again. Ian was an excellent host, responded promptly and provided excellent information. He also sorted out our booking dates when the dates we required didn’t fit exactly with the algorithm on the website.

We (myself, my partner and our dog) visited here in January and all had a lovely stay. The location is beautiful and room is really cosy. Absolutely spotless, all linens smelt really fresh. Has everything you needed. Plenty to see and do close by. Would recommend.

Visited the island as a group for a tour of the various distilleries. House was exactly as described on the website, ideal for a group of mature gentlemen but would be great for family groups as well. Hosts were very helpful and communicative before, during and after the stay. Would be more than happy to use house again for a subsequent visit.

A lovely little hut for a couple and wee doggy. So beautifully decorated and very cosy, the wooden kitchen surfaces were definitely the better choice ;) In the garden you get a great view of the Paps of Jura and the hot tub is great for sitting outside in the cold but being warm! Comfy sofa and bed and since there’s not much to do on the Island it was nice to spend a full day in the hut. Would definitely recommend and come back again!

Lovely stay for Hogmanay. Loved the small touches, such as the christmas decorations and cushions.

Lovely place by Karen. She was very responsive and gave clear instructions on how to find the place. We love the house and enjoyed our stay. Definitely if coming back to Islay , will chose to stay with Karen again!

Fantastic place to get away from it all if you really want to get away from it all. Dark sky area, views over to Islay and Jura, terrific sunsets, (if you get the weather). We'll certainly be booking again.

Karen was a fantastic host, very responsive to message and very welcoming. The snowdrop cabin was clean and cosy with beautiful surroundings of the woods and we were also lucky to see some wildlife. The log fire hot tub was a nice touch to relax after a day of exploring the Island. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Islay.

Had a really nice 2 night stay. I stayed in the cabin, nice and cosy and had all the facilities you need. The place was clean and tidy. Bed was comfy and place is insulated. So peaceful, and as a bonus a great view to Gigha, Islay and Jura. On a good day Northern Ireland can also be seen. Highly recommend if its peace and quiet you seek.
