We love our stay at the villa. It’s gated and private with direct access to the lake behind the house. On clear days you can see the three volcanoes at the lake. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very peaceful, you can hear birds singing. The interior is beautiful and cozy for the four of us. The house manager Juan is there during the day and took great care of us during our stay. We love that we are just a few steps from the center of the village with a church, market and few local shops. Santa Catalina Palopo is a charming, small, very local village. Just 10-15 mins tuk tuk ride away from Panajachel where you can catch public boat to visit other parts of the lake. We are glad we picked this place as our home base during our visit.

Casa Ataraxia was magical! The most amazing views of the lake - from every view and angle. The host was very responsive and helpful! He also helped fine a masseuse to come to the house for us. We did opt to use a cook to help cook and clean - we did not have to leave the house at all! And it was super hard to leave and check out… highly recommend and hope to be back soon!!

After a week of hard hiking, PJ’s place was an oasis. To begin, she was incredibly responsive and helped connect me to a boat driver and also Dominga, who prepared meals for us. (She’s a gem! So delicious!) The property is surrounded by birds with iconic volcano views. The beds were comfy. The pool—a dream. We could not have asked for a more soul-restoring stay than this lovely home. Plenty of room to spread out and reconnect back to ourselves after being in close company and tight quarters during our hiking. Five stars does not do it justice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gonna's house is AMAZING. even better than on the pictures. The big bedroom upstairs is a dream; its terrace gives a view on the lake, the bed is super big and comfortable and the sheets are super comfy. There are even yoga mats. The house is very clean. The kitchen has all the appliances you need. There is a barbecue outside. The pool and jaccuzi downstairs are great. Gonna is super nice and Diego, who takes care of the property, is super nice and helps in any way he can. The restaurant downstairs is very easy if you just want to grab a bite near the pool, because they can bring you the food near the pool area. We're coming back FOR SURE!

Beautiful place with picturesque views! Very clean. We comfortably slept 5 and had plenty of space. We liked having access to the nearby hotel’s amenities. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend staying here. The views of the lake are absolutely stunning. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed, cooking supplies, yoga mat, and more - including snacks and drinks for a small fee. And most importantly, the shower water was very hot :) The home is on the outskirts of San Pedro, but you can reach town with a short 10 minute tuktuk ride. In contrast to town, the home is very quiet and peaceful. Ximena was a very kind and communicative host throughout my stay.

By far, the best of the 4 places we stayed in while in Guatemala. We felt very comfortable and were able to get great sleep. We visited with our 4 kids to attend community Spanish school and it was very close by and easy to go back and for the to school. Easy access to town center by TukTuk. Washer and dryer was such a blessing. It was easy to regulate the temp in the house as there were a few windows with screens so we could leave them open without worrying about flies coming in. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We chose to stay at Fabio and Andrea’s place because of the outstanding reviews, and they were absolutely right. The house is stunning—words don’t do it justice. We ended up staying in the entire time and didn’t want to leave. The hike up is no joke—it’s tough, just as the listing describes—but the porters (aka the super helpful boys) make it so much easier. We couldn’t have done it without them, as they carried our bags all the way up. It was around 30Q each, which is absolutely worth it—just make sure to have some cash on hand. Once we arrived, we quickly realized we weren’t going anywhere, but we hadn’t brought any food. Thankfully, they’ve thought of everything. If you order the day before, Veronica will come and cook the most incredible meals right in your kitchen. We had her cook for us both nights, and the food was absolutely delicious—it made us feel truly spoiled. If you can, don’t just stay for one night—book at least two! You won’t regret it.

Super nice apartment, very close to the lake and the main street. Only beware that the garage entrance is a little tight so better if u are driving a small car. For.the rest, a very responsive and nice host.

This is a truly spectacular place. The views are better in person. The hosts are highly communicative and the detailed guidebook is super helpful for any questions or concerns around transportation, food (would recommend Rakel), pests, etc. Once-in-a-lifetime, though we'd love to get back someday!

Our stay at Emilio’s place in San Marcos was exceptional! We travel a lot and this one really knocked it out of the park on the price to value scale. The home is even better than described—pictures don’t do it justice. It’s beautifully designed, right on the lake, and steps from great restaurants. The town’s main strip is just a scenic five-minute walk along the water. With three full bedrooms and bathrooms, it’s perfect for multiple guests, offering both comfort and privacy. The king-size bed was especially cozy, with luxurious linens for a restful sleep. Gaspar, the property guardian, was incredibly kind and attentive, taking great care of us and the home. His warmth made our experience even more special. We couldn’t be happier with our stay and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Marcos. A true gem!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was beautiful and really well considered for comfort. We had help checking in as someone came to carry some bags for us which was very necessary as the walk up the hill with bags was very challenging, especially for my parents. Also, I found getting the public boat from Santiago to San Marcos was a bit of a nightmare so I would recommend doing that journey privately if you will be doing it instead of trying to do the public option! I would stay here again but would probably come when travelling with less luggage or make sure someone could help on the way down as well! I would also make sure I brought enough food & didn’t need to leave during the stay as the private boats are expensive. It was mostly very quiet and peaceful but I think we may have been unlucky with having a retreat going nearby with music being played till quite late which carried sound up to the house. I would recommend this spot as a getaway and is very reasonably priced!

Laura was a wonderful host. although I did not get to meet her, she was very responsive and always available. she was very flexible with our check-in time and even offered a garage to park our car. would highly recommend. it is not recommendable for those who are unable to climb because it is a very steep climb all the way to this house.

Fabio and Andrea’s place was beautiful. Just like the pictures. They were helpful and responsive. Would recommend to anyone.

Pasajcap is a magical place! The sauna was an amazing bonus that we used almost every morning to relax. The house was spotless, the floors were some of the cleanest floors we’ve ever had at an airbnb which is great when you have a little baby. Clara, the housekeeper, was super helpful and helped us clean and cook when needed. The view of the lake from the house was spectacular. We cannot wait to come back!
