There's a reason (actually, a lot of reasons) this place is rated so highly. The house is beautiful and comfortable. We had a few concerns about staying so far from Kona, but it ended up being one of the best things about our trip. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful, and there's a grocery store, great food and even shave ice within 5 minutes of the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean, and so we ate in fairly often. An unexpected perk was all of the beach toys available to use in the laundry area. So nice to have! The caretaker downstairs is also very quiet, and super friendly. And Mikael is a fantastic host. Yes, there are signs all over the house. Some are helpful and some feel excessive. And it can get pretty warm when it's hot outside (90 in November was surprising!), but neither of those things are enough to remove even half a star from this experience. We've already recommended the house to friends, and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Sandra's place brings healing. It is beautiful, quiet, and serene. The views are lovely of ocean below, and the wind blows quietly through bows of citrus, avocado, and palms. There are likely multiple Walden Ponds on the Big Island of Hawaii, but this is one of them. Tranquility reins at this property.

Our stay was great. The location is fantastic, with several great shops and restaurants close by. The ocean view off the balcony was great. The place itself is awesome, we had everything we needed for a great vacation. Thanks again for hosting!

We enjoyed our stay in Kona. The complex was lovely with parking in front of the unit. We used the community bbqs every day to cook meals. The view from the patio was amazing, and Carol's place was perfect for our family. It was very clean with everything you needed for the beach. Umbrellas, towels, lawn chairs, and snorkeling equipment. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.

Worked really for family of five, pool was short walk from condo. We played a lot of cards on the outside table, lovely view. Was toasty when we walked in, but AC took less than 30 minutes to cool down the whole space. Ceiling fans in bedrooms was nice. Kitchen well stocked, plus laundry detergent, dish soap, TP, extra towels, beach towels- made it easy. The complex is older and right on the ocean, so normal wear and tear- this unit is well maintained. Coming up the stairs was a bit tight with luggage because of the chair lift, but no problem. Parking easy and close- across from condo front door. Complex is quiet, almost sleepy. Pool was well attended, but we had no problem getting chairs and tables. Shopping right across the main road with grocery, few shops and restaurants, super convenient for family stay- and we used the Dolphin Discovery boat tour which happened to leave from right there as well, happy coincidence. Great spot to use as base to explore west side of the island.

The 4 of us enjoyed this condo very much. It had everything needed by us Seniors. We did not cook, use the beautiful pool, or wash or dry any clothes. It was a great location to sit on the balcony in the mornings and evenings listening to the waves, and enjoying sunsets together. We were delighted to know that when we went out all day sightseeing, we would be coming “Home” for a sunset view with Mai Tais on the balcony, waves crashing, and very comfortable beds to have a good night’s rest.

Adam & Monica’s was the perfect home away from home for my family while visiting Kona. The hosts were very accommodating even with a late check in and check out. Even though they live above the space, they gave our family plenty of privacy and the home itself was very private with a separate entrance and dense landscaping. When we did see our hosts they were friendly and even offered some insight for dining options. The home itself was just as pictured. Thoughtfully decorated and well equipped. We especially loved that there was a cooler and beach gear available, which made our trip so much more convenient and affordable with the option to pack a lunch to the beach. The yard is a tropical dream and we loved having breakfast on the launi in the mornings. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Kona!

The location is a great spot for a Kona vacation! The house is very clean, we stayed for a month and the cleaning crew came 3 times to keep the house spotless. We spent every night on the large porch grilling, eating and playing cards.

J-M's cottage was an oasis of tranquil greenery, frogs, birds, views, and peace. The cottage is charming, spotless, and has a view of the ocean and surrounding garden. The kitchen and bathroom are well appointed and the bed was luxurious. Being away from the hustle of town was lovely for us, yet access to town was extremely easy. The hosts were amazing and welcoming. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us!

Spectacular setting!

Jason’s place was completely amazing in all aspects! Jason was responsive when needed and he provided great amenities for snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, and things needed in the condo. I would highly recommend his place to stay!

This was our third time back and Laura’s place is beginning to feel like our home away from home! It is cooler than downtown making it feel perfect outside and in. The view is lovely as well. There was plenty of room for my 4 adult sons to spread out and stay content. I would definitely come back!

Lorelle's property was remote and quiet - just as we had hoped. The accommodation was exactly as expected - very cute, and it had everything we needed (as described). Lorelle gave us fresh eggs from her chickens, we got to go help her pick avocados, (she gave us some ripe ones - so delicious!), and also bananas. We were especially pleased with all the beach items for our use - beach towels, a beach mat, beach chairs, snorkel equipment, a cooler for picnic lunches, and life preserver. Lorelle's expectations were clear, and we appreciated the quiet hours. Beautiful views too! Thanks for a lovely place to stay.

Can't say enough good things about this place! It was the perfect home base for our group on the big island. The wrap-around deck is perfect for lounging, we spent most of our time on the deck when we weren't on the road. Easy walking distance to two great snorkeling spots and our group really appreciated that the kitchen was very well stocked! We decided to cook dinner two of the nights and were pleasantly surprised that we found a lot of the basics/equipment we needed at the house. The host was so helpful and very responsive. We arrived in the middle of a storm and before we even got to the house the host was in contact making sure we had everything we needed to feel comfortable.

House was nice and clean. Host was helpful and friendly. Had some small ants in the house, but nothing that bothered us. Road was a little noisy. Having beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear available was an added bonus.

The location of this property was beautiful right on the water. You could fall asleep listening to the waves crashing onto the shore. The property was well stocked with everything you might need which was very helpful. The host was very communicative and helpful.

We had such a great stay at Ania & John's place. It was so peaceful and comfortable, we felt so at home. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, they even brought us a coffee grinder when we asked if the place had one. Exactly as described, with very nice amenities and super comfortable bed. We appreciated the use of the pool and outdoor gazebo area. This place was our favorite during our stay on the island, and we would definitely stay again.

Aloha, We go to Kona every year from Maui for a soccer tournament and Joanne’s place was perfect!! Walking distance to Alii Drive and all the restaurants and bars!! I would highly recommend her place. She was fast to respond to any questions and had some great local advice!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 Would definitely stay there again!!

Beautiful place and great to work with! Would do it all over again

The Pagoda House is a destination in itself! We explored the island from there, but also spent time just hanging out in the garden and pool. GORGEOUS! It was well appointed for our extended family gathering.

Yumi and Gen were accommodating. The originally booked timeshare resort was not available, so they found another nearby location. Communication was easy. There was a slight check in issue at resort - my name was spelled incorrectly, but with confirmation number we were fine. Wished the resorts rooms had better sound proof walls, better mattress, sheets and pillows. Also air conditioning was an extra $13/day charge at the resort. But the hosts cannot change the amenities of the resort. All in all, good stay for our needs to explore Kona! Friendly hosts!
