We stayed here with our dog during the off season St.Patricks day week and loved it!! It was more house than we needed so we were mainly just on the top floor and it was a little too windy and cold to use all the porches so we'll have to come back and utilize all the great space. We appreciated the fenced in yard and the warning about sandspurs. Our dog was fine using it anyway and we just picked them off afterwards. Perfect location and beach access. We used it almost every day to walk the dog. Loved the pier is right there too! Very clean and comfortable house with great hosts who were very flexible and communicative. Great spot!!

This listing is exactly what you see and is perfect for one or two people. I loved the decor, it was very quiet, and the walk to the beach is 5 minutes on the nose (I timed it). I had a few questions and the hosts were very friendly with a fast response time. I loved the outdoor shower to rinse all the sand off. I would stay again and highly recommend.

Great dog friendly rental in OBX! Having grass and a small fenced yard for late/early potty breaks was so convenient. Our dog relaxed right away on arrival, immediately getting a drink and dog biscuit from the provided bowls. What a rare treat to find a place so special for our four-legged family members. :-D Everything was very clean and comfortable and cozy. Loved reading in the sunroom. The house was stocked with more than we could possibly imagine needing in terms of food and supplies (so it's a bit cluttered and not a lot of space for your own items, but nothing you cannot work around). As others have said, definitely felt more like HOME than a rental and we truly appreciated that! Thanks for sharing your home and for a lovely getaway!

We loved the house! It was a perfect spot for myself, three children and our pup. Very clean, well-appointed and spacious. The pool and ping pong tables in the basement were a perfect downtime activity. The beach is very short stroll and the restaurants that we could walk to made the location even more ideal. We hope to return soon!

Place was equipped with everything needed for preparing meals, beach time, and chill time in the home. Places to eat and stores within walking distance. Heated pool and hot tub were awesome for the kids! No complaints, nice people and nice home and nice area!

Loved this cozy historic flattop for our Thanksgiving weekend. Such cute artwork and decor, amazing fully-stocked kitchen, the best covered screen porch I’ve ever seen and a beautiful Christmas tree! We loved walking down the pretty quiet street to the beach access. Loved being able to bring our dog Molly to be with us for Thanksgiving. We all felt so comfortable and happy in this home… would definitely stay here again. Great easy access to Duck too.

The cottage was just the right size and loved that it was so close to the beach. It was perfect for the quick getaway that we were doing. The towels and linens were great, but could use some better pillows. Whitney was very responsive and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage was spotless, very clean, beds were comfortable, it was exactly how it is depicted and described. I needed a place to decompress after my dad’s funeral and this was just the place. I traveled with my German Shepherd and we were able to take long walks on the beach right across the street. The host was very responsive to any questions I had and communicated when the place was ready early. Would totally recommend.

Our stay was truly delightful- this was the perfect choice for my small family retreat. The rental is bright and clean as well as adorably decorated. Everything necessary and desirable for an enjoyable beach stay is supplied. (There's even an InstaPot!) The bedrooms, kitchen, and living area are very comfortable. The host, Gordon, is very friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. I found it amusing that the pictures in the listing are highly accurate, yet still don't give a sense of how close the ocean actually is to the rental. IT'S RIGHT THERE!!! The waves are visible from the unit, and it takes only about two minutes to walk and find a wonderful spot on the beach- this was a real high point for us. We visited April 7-9, just before the season picks up due to warmer weather, but... we had the beach all to ourselves! Spending hours at a time playing on the beach was a dream come true for my 12 year old. Thanks to Gordon for hosting us! We would love to stay here again.

Ashley was a GREAT host, very responsive and a caring host. Provided high chair requested, allowed an earlier check-in to help accomodate special needs child and was very concern when access lock was having problems and responsive. Problem was pribably our mittle hands tiuching all the numbers. Pool was extremely clean and as described in pictures and notes. Had family of 17, 8 adults and 9 kids ranging in age from newborn to 13. Bedrooms were good size to accomodate and all suites having own bathroom was wonderful for 5 families.

Beautiful home and great place to stay! This home is very conveniently located a short walk to the beach! The house was fully stocked from the bathrooms, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash to the kitchen with everything you could ever need including a crock pot! Very nice and plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, the works! Games and children’s books available, outdoor living space is fantastic, and our host was very responsive and friendly! 10/10, highly recommended!

We enjoyed our vacation at this home very much. the description was accurate and the house very clean and well organized. We had to reach out to the host a few times and they were extremely responsive in a timely manner. The location of this house is awesome, grocery store and restaurants are just a short drive or walk. We enjoyed the 2nd story hot tub and the beach access was very convenient. The large recreational room on the 1st floor kept the kids entertained!! Overall, we had a fabulous week at this home and it was perfect for our large family.

We had an amazing stay at PBR in Kill Devil Hills for the second Christmas in a row! The house is in like-new condition, super clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The ocean views are incredible, and Connor was a fantastic host—attentive and responsive. We’re hoping to be back next year!

This was the perfect first vacation to take with our baby! We had such an amazing time. The house was fully stocked with essentials, everyone had their our own bathroom, the location and short walk to the beach was so nice! It was such an amazing value, just all around, perfect. We had a very memorable vacation and everyone kept talking about how much they want to come back and how great of a pick the house was ! HIGHLY recommend!!! :)

This is a fantastic unit for a couple (or best friends!) retreat. The location is perfect - directly across the street from beach entrance, walking distance to great coffee shops, local ice cream, surf shops, brewery, food, convenience stores, and more! I liked the house was at the end of a cul-de-sac so no traffic on the street. The host is very friendly and responsive with great directions. Check in/out was hassle free. I will definitely be coming back for a long weekend getaway!

Daniel did a great job communicating with us. The house was clean and as advertised. He gave us a nice complimentary gift of wine glasses and a free dozen bagels at a local bakery during our stay. He was great to work with and really enjoy the stay and overall experience. Really appreciate all the hard work and extra touches that Daniel put into making our stay so nice.

With our fairly large group of adults and children of various ranges it was fantastic! It was so easy walking to and from the beach everyday! Close to so many things that we ran out of time trying to get to them all! Even with the busyness of the main road being so close, it felt really private. Would definitely book here again!

This was our first adventure to North Carolina and an adventure it was. Our first Airbnb didnt work out well with us, so late that first night we booked this home. It had been a long day and we were just ready to lay down. The kids were excited when they seen the house. They picked our their rooms and everyone got a boost of energy knowing we made the right decision moving to this house. Its so nice being by the water. My daughter caught lil shrimp in her net and my son tried out the fishing. The host were very responsive with their messaging. The house was clean and had everything labeled which made it nice. The decks to enjoy your views are so nice. I love seeing all the family pictures amd history they have around the home. You cam definitely tell it is a well loved home thats had some precise family times there. Glad we could add some of our own to this property. We had so many hiccups on this trip but finding this listing wasnt one of them. Thank you for the stay.

Shelly’s place is fantastic! A great location and set up. It’s small but she really maximizes the space and it’s decorated so nicely. The location can’t be beat. It’s a quick easy walk to the beach.

We had a great stay. The fenced in back yard was wonderful with our dogs and was a peaceful place to sip our morning coffee.

My stepfather had this beach cottage built in 1958. My stepsiblings sold it about 2001. Almost 20 years later, Beverly bought it and has tastefully and lovingly restored it while maintaining the original charm. Although I loved the original notty pine walls, they had been painted throughout which made the cottage seem bigger to me. The refigured bathroom has a shower/tub combo. We only had a tiny shower so I enjoyed a soak in the tub after biking the trail to the Wright Brothers Monument. All 5 nights I slept very well. I enjoyed morning coffee in the sunny front porch and cooked in a fully equipped kitchen. I am not being biased when I say I highly recommend Hip Nautique. When you have the option of this cottage in a great location with such a lovely, thoughtful, experienced host ready to help you in any way, why would you stay anywhere else? And, by the way, Andy Griffith showered here.
