This was such a nice little stay! It was a bit chilly most mornings of our trip, but the enclosed porch was great for coffee and morning conversation. Beds were super comfy too!

We had such a peaceful, relaxing stay at Blackwater Retreat, and Monica is truly a gem of a host. From the time we first reached out to get with some questions before booking to the morning we checked out she was helpful, kind and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The fresh eggs and the homemade ham and cheese quiche and cinnamon swirl bread provided for us was such an above and beyond touch that made us feel like we were staying in more than “just another airbnb”. Both the humans and the pups in our group enjoyed spending time on the dock watching the river flow by and listening to the sounds of nature. We even saw a few tree frogs and heard owls calling at night! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing place to spend a few days!! Loved the lake views! :) Wonderful and spacious rooms! Located in a quiet and peaceful area. Minutes to drive into town and grab groceries or necessities for the trip! Fantastic dock for walking out on to the lake! Would definitely stay again!

From first reaching out to Kathy about parking for our group, to her reaching back out to check on us day before coming in...Kathy was a very responsive host. Her property was as advertised and was a perfect location for our group of fisherman. Everything we needed for a relaxing 3 day weekend was provided including a bowl of snacks!! We didn't use the boat ramp on property, but that along with the dock was a plus for boaters. Ample parking for 4 bass boats on trailer. With the impending bad weather she was very accommodating for us to possibly check out late if needed. Only thing I will point out is master bath has a senior style walk in tub. A little tight for a big fella like myself. If available on our next trip, won't hesitate to rent this property again. Thank you again Kathy!!

My husband and I loved this place on Goose River Reservoir. I picked it because it was on the water. It was peaceful and relaxing on the enclosed back deck. It is close to great stores and eateries. About 20minutes to Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. There is plenty for kids to do at the house. The Master bed was comfy and warm. Shower was awesome. What I liked: The house felt warm and cozy. I liked being on the river and listening to the bugs, squirrels and birds. We loved being on the back deck relaxing and drinking our coffee. House rules were not overbearing, but to just clean up after yourself, no dirty dishes left in the sink, take out trash and bring the towels down to the washer. I tried to sweep, but I didn't find a broom. I spilt coffee grinds, but was able to clean it up. Communication with the owners was great and quick response! We really enjoyed our stay and would book again!

Laura was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had all the amenities during our stay. She was very quick to respond and ensured any issue was handled quickly. I would certainly recommend her for anyone interested to book at her house. My family and I felt at home and really enjoyed our stay! Laura is a lovely lady!

Plush and perfect. Loved every inch of this comfortable home. If you love to cook great prep space. Host responsive and always helpful. Will always try to stay here when in town.

Place was very nice. Convenient for our bass tournament. Carlos was an excellent host.

Very clean and spacious house with more than reasonable stocked items made us feel at home the minute we stepped in. Inside, tasteful furnitures and decoration gave us a cozy feel as if we are staying at my grandmother’s house. Outside, you can spend all day relaxed with the sounds of nature - water, wind, and birds. I tried kayaking for the first time. Water is calm, nothing else is around me except water. What a soothing experience! And the sunset is breathtaking.

We only stayed one night, but we had all things we needed! I will say the listing has a photo of single bunks in a room, which has now been turned into a single couch and TV room- so that made sleeping arrangements a little complicated with thinking there were 4 separate rooms for people to stay, but we made it work! We had cooler weather the day we stayed, but it would have been great to use the dock/stairs down to swim on a summer day had we had nicer weather. Lots of extras in the home- our daughter had a blast playing with the tub of toys she found!

Nice clean place. Would be a great place for entertaining. Access to lake so bring a small boat or kayaks if you got them. Rooms comfortable. Kitchen has what you need. Had a great time with family there.

I will say Heather and Christopher were very accommodating and compassionate people. They were very responsive and understanding. The place was very comfortable, peaceful, and the coffee bar was a great touch.

It is a beautiful home. It was clean and the pictures did not do it justice. We brought our 20 ft center console boat and it was great being able to keep it docked for the entirety of our trip. Most other places on lake Moultrie won’t let you leave the boat docked over night but you can here. It’s on a canal so the boat was safe from rough waters. We even were able to catch some fish off of the dock. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!!!

Perfect place to stay for quick access to the lake and very clean. Great neighborhood.

The place is absolutely marvelous. Any fishing afficionado would love the place. The men in the group were so impressed, they would love to go back and fish every year. Thank you 🙏❤️

I travel a lot for fishing tournaments and typically stay at AirBNB or VRBO places instead of hotels. This place was as pictured. This is the first one that I’ve stayed at that was actually someone’s “home”. It appears as if the owners just move into a small outbuilding in the back yard while their home is rented out. This didn’t bother me, but it may bother some. It seemed to be a safe place to plug the boat up and is close to boat ramps.

My family came down for 1 of our daughter's wedding. Everything was great. WE had an amazing time and this property was absolutely perfect for us. Very clean and peaceful. We felt like we were home.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. If we’re back in the area we’ll definitely book Michael’s place again! The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. The house if very comfortable and beautiful. Everything you need is there unless you’re a chef who needs some xtra fancy stuff you could literally make do with what’s there. Just bring your toothbrush!!

Responsive host by text and phone. Super helpful with the questions I had about parking. The house was clean and everything we used worked as it should. We will be back next year for sure.

Was an amazing stay, the views were beautiful the space was large and clean, and absolutely beautiful. They provided fishing poles and tackle boxes & the fishing was nice and peaceful. Marilee was extremely helpful and communicated really well. We had a party of 9 and it was the perfect house would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay, Very clean and comfortable. Will likely be staying at this location again Gated entrance was a plus
