If you like quiet peaceful place with great views this is the place. A short easy drive to town for groceries or dinner. Great hikes nearby come home have beverage on the porch and watch the sun set with the sheep and horses (Mickey and Ringo)

Excellent location close to town, easy walking distance to everything. We loved having a fire to warm ourselves after tramping for several days. Beautiful garden, spacious and relaxing kitchen/dining/lounge. Top notch AirBnB.

We had the best stay Kahikatea House. We were welcomed by Joris who was extremely friendly and helpful, showed us around and gave all the tips for a pleasant stay. Mat certainly has an eye for styling as the place was decked out beautifully, and felt really comfortable as though you were right at home. Really well equipped with everything you needed. My partner loved a lake swim and a sauna, and I enjoyed reading one of the books by local author, Ruth Shaw - if you stay here you have to visit her at the Wee Bookstores. Great amenity available in Te Anau, and excellent coffee down the road at Waiau St Cafe where the Doubtful Sound boats go to fetch people. Thoroughly recommend staying here, and really hope we can be back one day! Thank you, Joris & Mat!

Comfortable home with exceptional views. We really enjoyed watching various birds from the living rooms Sunset view was amazing. This is an excellent jumping off point for Milford Sound and Te Anau is a cute town on its own.

Julian’s place was really spacious and comfortable! We enjoyed cooking while we were there as the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking equipment, utensils, oven, baking sheet/bags and condiments. There was also an outdoor grill available for use. There were instructions to take note of hot water usage and stagger bathing timings but we didn’t encounter any issues with that.

The Cabin is very much worth 5* status. A real retreat, set only a few miles from Te Anau and with direct access to trails and incredible scenery. The Log Cabin is special, with the Master Bed sitting in the loft above the main living space, and a large gas fire to create that cosy cabin feel. With wonderful touches all around, from Super Soft Bedding to Marshmallows for Hot Chocolate, Tracey has really thought about the whole experience. With easy access to both Milford and Doubtful Sound, it’s the perfect place to base yourself to explore all the area has to offer. Highly Recommended.
