We had a wonderful weekend away at Nikki’s classic kiwi bach! The location is so beautiful, and it was great to be right on the waterfront. The Bach is lovely and had everything we needed for a great stay. I only wish that we could have stayed longer! Nikki is a friendly, helpful and responsive host. Hopefully we will get to come back again one day!

We had such a great time at Chloe and Ben's. It was clean and spacious, 1 min walk (if that) to the estuary and five minutes to the lovely surf beach so you could visit several times a day. It didn't need to be a big complicated affair as it was so easy to nip back to the house for food etc. The shower was awesome - very strong pressure. Everything was provided - linen, blankets, pillows, glasses, cutlery etc and all in great condition - and the kitchen was well equipped, including dishwasher and lots of good pans. Loved that we could eat outside on the deck, there was a fenced yard for the dog to run (he was in heaven), plus a trampoline, barbecue and fire pit. The view from the deck was stunning, and the overall vibe of the place was so friendly - from other holidaymakers with kids to the people working at the campsite. Would definitely book again.

11 out of 10 ! Claire was outstanding as a host. Spacious, off-street parking (plural), private, clean, fully equipped, comfortable, squillionaire views with almost ‘private’ beach access. Maybe someone didn’t mention the great outdoor shower for getting rid of beach sand ? This place is perfect for family gatherings. There is only one thing not perfect about this place….having to leave !

We had a wonderful stay, the outlook from the bach is so peaceful. All of our family including the grand kids completely relaxed. We loved our visit and look forward to returning. Thanks for having us and our dog

what a place!! the house is far back road and incredibly serene. we came with two young kids and 4 adults and there was heaps to keep us occupied. trip across the estuary with kayaks to these amazing beach breaks a particular highlight. The whole house has something for everyone and honestly think we may be back. Rebecca was also an amazing host and had loads of local knowledge to share.

It was my first family holiday since 2017. The AirBnB was a new experience for me, but the hosts were respectful and their place was wonderful! I was able to bring our 2 x dogs which was great and I took them for a walk every morning, greeting others with their dogs on the way. My adult children loved being able to hang out at the beach and sit in the hot tub or use the kayaks on offer. My husband unfortunately worked every day but was able to enjoy to peace and quiet at night. Having a washing machine was practical and saved my workload when we returned home. We visited Charlies Gelato which was yum and I was able to purchase some beautiful wine from Brick Bay vineyard. Matakana was disappointing it felt like Auckland with long lines of traffic and expensive products however, the lady at Honest Chocolate was lovely. We fished off Scotts Landing and caught 5 legal snapper. All in all, I would highly recommend this AirBnB, absolutely the best holiday in a very long time. Thank you.

We had a beautiful stay at Pilgrim's Rest. So clean, comfy and beautiful homemade shortbread and muesli, yummy! Would highly recommend 👌

I stayed at this place for 3 nights in March 2025 and boy did I love it! Just draw dropping views as soon as you enter. Lovely surroundings and nature all around the place. Such a serene and beautiful place. I just loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet and lovely place with ocean views and nature all around.

We loved Karl’s space. Easy check in, peaceful and quiet. Our daughters were able to explore and enjoy the jacuzzi after a day adventuring. Will be back for sure.

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped. Great for family group of 3 generations. Great views from all rooms and always something happening on estuary. Pool table, spa , pizza oven and kayaks provided great variety of options. Highly recommend

Great place for a getaway with friends. everyone had there own room and plenty of space to spread out in the house. Lonely big private deck with a nice view. The sunsets were beautiful 😍

We had a wonderful stay at Staffa Bay! A beautiful place to be able to holiday at and we thoroughly enjoyed the home and easy access to the beach. Nice view and peaceful spot! Hosts were great with their communication and very helpful in making sure our stay was a good time.

We were so happy to stay at this house. Every sunset was beautiful with views from almost every room in the house. It instantly felt like home for our stay here.

Sarah was great at communicating very understanding and made checking in and out a breeze even accomodating when we were not going to be checked out in time made it very stressfree for us. We had yummy eggs in the fridge when we got there and everything you could need for a weekend away. Thank you Sarah for making our stay very easy and stress-free. Would definitely recommend this place for your next stay in Whangarei :)

This place is beyond amazing — the photos don’t do it justice. The design, furnishings, and amenities are all top-notch, from the spa to the shower to the living spaces. But what really sets it apart is the beachfront location. We woke up to perfect sunrises on a stunning beach, with a range of native birds to keep us company. 10/10, would absolutely stay again.

"The Airbnb is a 10-minute drive from Matakana Village Farmers' Market, within a private, gated 7-acre property. It's a bit of a drive from Auckland, and the final 200 meters involve a steep, gravel downhill, which can be slippery. The house is stunning, with four bedrooms, including a bunk room, a top-notch kitchen, and high-quality bathroom fixtures. Everything is well-maintained and well-stocked, giving the impression of a beloved holiday home. There's a game room with a billiard table, a gym with a squat rack and barbells, a dartboard, and a Lego set. The host’s responses were prompt, and though sometimes abrupt, they were very accommodating. The kitchen is fully equipped with two dishwashers and two refrigerators. The hanging fireplace added a cozy touch, and the massive deck with a basketball hoop was perfect for my kids to play. The view was stunning, especially at sunrise over the bay, and we enjoyed using the available kayaks.

Accommodation was lovely with great views and facilities. Gower and Robyn were very helpful and informative. Would definitely love to stay again next time we visit the island. Thanks! Tenzin and Ivana
