We spent a wonderful weekend at the two lodges celebrating a special birthday. The lodges are beautifully furnished, equipped with pristine rooms and comfortable beds. Lovely touches like coffee pods, tea, sugar, oil and a well-stocked herb cupboard. The geese and steam train were delightful. A hot tub would be a lovely addition, as the setting really lends it to it! We would love to be able to return in the warmer weather and enjoy the decking and a BBQ. Howarth is about a 60-minute pleasant walk or £5 in an Uber. Howarth, of course, has lots of fabulous independent shops, bars, eateries and lovely walks. We booked a private ghost tour with Haunted Howarth, which we highly recommend. The French restaurant Pave was superb for a lazy lunch of cheese and wine. We headed to Hebden on our return - about 20 minutes away via the Moors, which topped off a great weekend.

Sara at Woodsome was wonderful, so responsive and helpful. Never needed to wait more than 10 minutes for a reply leading up to and during our stay. She was soo helpful in helping me organise a wonderful hen do weekend for my friend. We took her recommendations on having some amazing beautician treatments at the house Saturday morning - they came and set up in the bedrooms and were wonderful. Amazing treatments and so lovely and friendly! Then we had Benji provide us with afternoon tea and then an *amazing* 3 course dinner. He messaged before and gave us choices on the menu after letting us pick a cuisine of choice and it was amazing!! Definitely a highlight of the trip! The house was clean, tidy and had everything we could need. Great, maintained(!) hot tub! Been to places before where they don’t treat it regularly but Sara was there Saturday morning testing it and maintaining it even whilst we were all there. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! Thank you so much Sara!

This place is beautiful and well equipped. It was so well appointed and actually better than it looks in the photos. It was pretty easy to find and impressive on first appearances. We were wowed as soon as we walked in - the perfect venue for my sister's hen do :) The kitchen has everything we needed. The living room was such a good size and everything super comfy. All of the bedrooms were a decent size and with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are very smart and with decent showers. The games room is fab! The location was fine for us. Outside of the town but it was easy enough to get local taxis for a decent price on a Saturday evening. With friendly and helpful communication from the hosts, I would definitely recommend this place for a group stay.

Lovely lodge and a very helpful host

We visited to celebrate a big birthday and the house more than accommodated the 10 of us. The kitchen was very well stocked and there was a whole cupboard of board games. The hosts were welcoming and the house was stunning.

we enjoyed a weekend for a birthday party for 15 people. it's a perfect size and has everything you need. we had a fantastic time and would happily recommend this for family get together. the service was fantastic to. I forgot to order the baby gates and their maintenance man arrived within 10 minutes to install. the games room was perfect as well as the kids had a room to themselves.

We had the best stay at the Garden Cottage, what a beautiful home with the most beautiful surroundings! Stephanie couldn't have been more helpful and onhand, and we absolutely loved Annabels cafe a short walk away!! Will be back for sure, thank you so much!

Fantastic house in a great location, we had a lovely relaxing stay. The house was fully equipped with everything you might need, inside and out, nice quality toiletries, comfy beds, under floor heating and lovely extra touches like a bottle of wine and lemon drizzle cake on arrival! We would recommend this house to families or friendship groups.

The water tower was the most stunning and unique venue to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends. The bedrooms each with ensuite were all immaculate. We hired a chef for the evening and he found the kitchen to be well equipped. Check in and out instructions were simple and the host replied to messages very quickly. The visibility wasn’t great when we were there unfortunately so we didn’t get the full impact of the views but they were impressive nonetheless. You will not regret booking this place!

Wonderful stay! Debbie made sure we had everything we needed for a large family to stay - loads of logs for the wood burners, games and jigsaws, a basket of yummy treats and a bottle of cava to celebrate with the birthday girl. This is a lovely house which feels like a happy home and the garden is lovely too. There is a cafe right across the road (which was closed for their annual holiday when we were there), a super corner shop with everything you could need, and a lovely pub. Debbie communicated clearly and so the key box was easy to find. I would definitely recommend her hosting and her beautiful home.

This was our second time at Phils, first time to celebrate my 70th second time for my husbands 75th. When I asked my family where they wanted to celebrate my husbands 75th birthday it was Phils place. Its perfect for our multi-generational family, amples of space and the pool and hot tub are the icing on the cake. We all had the best time and we made lots of memories. Thank you Phil for the use of your lovely home.

This cottage is the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the peaks. You’re a 5 minute walk from pubs which serve great food, and a short drive away from some of the best sights in the peaks. The hot tub is a nice addition, and the house is immaculate. Thanks. Will definitely be staying again

The college condition and feel is a real credit to the hard work Angela and staff put in. It feels like you’re at home from the moment you walk through the door and the views a just breathtaking. The bath towels feel amazing and the cottage is very well stocked with everything you need in the way of equipment and also of a very good quality. We were lucky enough to have some very fine weather and completed some great local walks and running routes. There wasn’t one thing that I could fault with this whole experience and can’t wait to book again.

Four generations of our family enjoyed a memorable weekend at Harlequin Cottage. Finding somewhere to suit toddlers, the elderly and a dog wasn't easy but this felt like home from home. Angela fielded an array of questions from my family with patience and provided a lovely welcome hamper. We loved the flock of wooden ducks, the toiletries and views.

It's a good house with 4 rooms to live in. Quiet outside and near to Rochdale center, convenient enough to the stores and supermarkets. While there are some minor stains in the kitchen when arrived, but not impacts on the experience. We come through some issues during the living, but were sorted very soon. This house should be recommended.

Went with our 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and it was just perfect. Great Welcome hamper and all our names on the welcome letter. Ducks with everyones name on. Lovely view and the hot tub was well used. Fantastic amenities everything you would need. Great hosts easy to contact. Thanks again for a memorable family weekend.

stunning location. Very charming house which was impeccibly clean. Lovely, huge welcome hamper for the 15 of us. Some very cute extras including welcome letter and ducks! Lots of cooking utensils and crockery. Angela was responsive to all of my extensive worries and questions. we should have asked about altering the heating as we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather at the end of winter!! Wow to the view and clean sunken hot tub. my mum loved her 80th. Only criticism was the tired sofas which are oddly placed. But that was no problem.
