We were lucky to find the perfect time for staying at this beautiful spot. It was a great location, with parking off the street, access to nearby headland trails- while still being walkable to the rest of town. Our host, Mary was the very picture of hospitality- reaching out to us to coordinate our arrival after a delay driving through the Bay Area; then again intermittently checking in with us to make sure there were no problems. Prior to our stay, she was also very helpful and listed recommendations on places to eat. We had a wonderful stay and intend to return to enjoy the lovely views and relaxing environment we find ourselves wishing we could live in full time.

We had a great stay in Kathy's and Michael's studio apartment. It had all that we needed and more. It was a beautiful neighborhood with forest settings. It is close to the river and just a short drive to surrounding cities and communities where we shopped and ate at great restaurants. We will certainly return at a later date when the weather is better but even though it rained while we were there the surroundings especially Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve in the rain was just as beautiful.

Great spot right on the lake! The place is incredibly spacious and well-equipped. Not walkable to much other than the lake, but very convenient to get places by car. The lake view from the deck was lovely. Honestly was a perfect studio that could be a great for a long term stay too.

All I can say is wow, what a perfect stay we had at The Guest Nest! Kerry's place is beautiful, inside and out - spotlessly clean, well thought out, cozy and spacious. Lots of light during the day, and the fireplace kept us warm at night. The views from the windows, porches & garden are amazing, from the garden, to the grounds with the deer grazing, to the ocean. Absolutely fantastic neighborhood as well...Caspar Headlands and Caspar Beach are an easy walk, and they're both gorgeous. Last but certainly not least, Kerry was an amazing host - extremely helpful, kind and communicative. If I ever find myself in the Mendocino area again (which I hope to!), I would absolutely love to stay in The Guest Nest again, just an amazing place/host!

Great stay here, comfortable bed and an easy to find location right off Highway 1. Highly recommend visiting Point Arena Lighthouse while you’re here, it was excellent. All-in-all, a great place to rest your head after a long day outside.

We had a wonderful stay at Heidi's studio and felt right at home when we arrived! It was clean, roomy, beautifully decorated, and we loved all the sunlight coming into the space. Also loved the view of the ocean and surroundings as we walked up the stairs. If you cook a lot of meals, going up and down the stairs to the kitchen might be a bit tricky, but otherwise, amazing stay!

Wonderful spot right on the lake. Next door to a free boat ramp. 4 minute drive to a bunch of restaurants and parks. Also the inside was all newly remodeled, very modern kitchen and bathroom. Will likely be coming back.

Mike's place deserves all the great reviews it's received. It's comfortable, cozy, well-furnished, quiet, spacious, and has a fine view of the ocean. The living/dining/kitchen are on the upper level, which also has the view. The bedrooms are below, and those are roomy with lovely beds. You can get amazing fish-n-chips just down the road at the Shack, and outstanding bluffs and paths along the wild Sonoma coast to both north and south. Highly recommended!

This home is decorated so beautifully, and the kitchen is very well appointed. They really thought of everything, even providing crab cracking tools! The decor is thoughtfully artistic and eclectic, exactly the vibe I'm looking for when staying in Mendo. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very supportive. The views are incredible. I would absolutely consider renting this place again.

The view. It's maily the view that no picture can really describe. But than again, the house itself is so nice, with great feeling of privecy but still near fine restaurants, wineries, short or long hiking trails, sea and forests. Perfect location

We stayed here for our 23rd anniversary, and this home exceeded our expectations. We normally stay bluff side, but I'm glad we didn't. Pauline has put so much thought into making this the perfect get away and the layout is ideal for a couple looking for a quiet and private retreat. We loved the hot tub, views, fireplace (which worked great ;-) and the wonderfully comfortable beds. Many whale spouts and great dinners at the Vue and Sea Ranch Lodge where we charged our car.

Deldi is an excellent host. Great communication and always easy to contact. The home is in a great location. Two minutes to the bluff trail and you can sit on the balcony with a glass of wine looking at the sun setting over the ocean while deer graze in the front yard. Magical!

Great Views, great place. Beach is amazing. Loved the stay and would recommend it. Well stocked kitchen with cast iron pans that are so much better than the usual rental scratched non-stick pans you find in other places. Just missing an ice cream scoop. Some of the linens were scratchy. I think they were microfiber which were once super soft but when washed repeatedly the synthetic fibers break and become scratchy. The bedding in the TV room we had to stash in the downstairs closet because of the obnoxious smell. I feel like the cleaning service must have spilled a bottle of Febreeze in the wash or something. The hot tub was hot and had a great view. Everything worked and was clean. The rental book was very detailed with directions, how to access the beach and use things with the exception of the downstairs TV which had a baffling smart TV like none I’ve ever used. Our family of four had such a fun and relaxing week at Chris’s place! Kids were instantly enamored with the garage hang-out and we loved the different relaxing spots throughout the house and yard. Everything was clean and comfortable and just right for us. Rustic, charming, great historical touches. Easy walk to a great beach and easy drive into town. Lovely quiet neighborhood full of beautiful birds and flowers!

This was our second stay at the Balina house. It's incredibly peaceful and comfortable. You can watch the waves roll in from the upstairs. The Ohlson pool, walking distance across a meadow, is really worth a visit. The fog burnt off everyday. The kitchen is fully stocked. Our four year old really enjoyed the hot tub. It was a great family get away. The hosts are totally responsive and very thoughtful. We're grateful we found this place!
