What a gem of a find! We came to Gilwern for a weekend without our children and were able to run, cycle and hike really easily from here. The cabin is beautiful, the views are amazing, and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. Beth was really attentive and really helpful (and runs an amazing shop and cafe in Abergevany which we discovered on the last day). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and really hope we get a chance to stay there again!

A lovely house for a staycation. Beautiful setting and ideal for bringing the dog too. Lots of nearby walks and a short car journey to Knighton with pubs to eat. Rachel was friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay again.

I absolutely can recommend this place! Cosy, cute, you have everything you need for recharge. The hottub was also clean and the garden is cute. Denise was amazing, she was always friendly, and left us welcome gift, what was super sweet 😊 She answered quickly and give us perfect instructions for everything. We loved everything about it! 😍

Sara & Mark are communicative and friendly. 5* Hosts. Check in was quick and easy with no faff. The location was easy to find and had good parking. I have a large estate car and had no issues parking it. Sara included what3words for directions which I wish more hosts would do! We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful, quiet, secluded and beautiful views. Will stay here again if we visit this part of the UK again. No downsides, all good and just as the description said it would be. :-) Happy guests!

The place was so much bigger than we expected, the decking area had so many different spots to sit in to catch the sun with plenty of lovely outdoor furniture. The view of the woods was amazing especially when in the private hot tub. The cabin is beautifully decorated, spacious and clean, I loved everything about it. The bathroom was another level for me. If there is only one thing and it is only a personal preference and certainly not a complaint, the hot tub was a little too hot but once it cooled down it was perfect. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you Melanie 😌

Cosy, very clean and well appointed property. Very quiet location, with beautiful views from the deck and hot tub, which was a lovely treat after walking and exploring during the day. Good selection of soft lighting also enhanced the relaxed vibe, inside and on the deck. Good communication from our host Isabelle.

My partner and I booked Daisy Lodge as our base whilst exploring the Brecon Beacons. With only being a ten minute drive to Abergavenny, we found it to be perfect. The lodge was in a secluded countryside setting with incredible views (pictures don’t do it justice). The hot tub was just what we were after - the perfect wind down after our hikes around the national park. Justin and Claire were very prompt to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend Daisy Lodge to anyone seeking a relaxing break.

A compact cabin in a perfect location, with lovely surroundings, good for dogs and all that you need for your stay.

We stayed at the Meadow Snug for 4 nights and had the most peaceful and relaxing break. Laura was wonderful. Warm and welcoming and even brought us some delicious fresh milk. It was the nicest I've ever had on my cereal. The snug was warm and comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting on the decking in the sunshine. At night it was so peaceful and the stars put on a show. Having the working farm next door was fun to watch. It was a positive part of the experience and we loved watching the tractors busying about and hearing the cows. The beds are extremely comfortable and it was a really cosy place to stay. We love the fire and made good use of it. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had everything we could possibly need. We spent a day exploring Shrewsbury (really easy to drive to) and walked into the local village to the New Inn pub. It took an hour on the Bridleway (pretty muddy due to recent rain) but the food made it all worthwhile. Thank you Laura. 5* Highly recommend x

Lovely place,perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle.Newtown is 5 min drive with lovely shops and walks. Lloyd and Maggie were so friendly and accommodating,we would highly recommend staying here... very well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds... Awoke to a lovely view of an alpaca, very calm and quiet location

Another lovley stay at Darren and Lindsay's place. This time it was the cabin which is my favourite. Extremely private, fabulous views. Place was exceptionally clean with everything you need. Hot tub literally just outside sliding doors. Gorgeous deep bath and fab shower. Grateful for bottle of wine too 😌 100% will stay again

We absolutely loved our stay at Woolly Wood cabins. Peaceful surroundings in nature, comfortable beds, amazing hot tub and great clear sky to watch the stars. 100% will be back. Thank you Myles for a great staycation.

We had a great time! There was an issue with a broken dining room chair which they brought a replacement immediately. Everything was pretty much perfect. The only feedback to make it 100% all round would be if they provided bath sheets rather than towels, we are larger people and the towels seemed a little small. Also, the hot tub was several meters away from the building meaning that it was a little exposed, maybe consider moving the tub by the back bi-folding doors? These are really small things though, our stay was thouroughly enjoyed by all of us. Thank you!

You can tell a lot of love has gone into designing this space and it had everything we needed. A cosy, yet spacious cabin, in beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed our relaxing weekend away - thank you so much!

We had a beautifully hassle free, relaxing 3 night stay at Charlotte's friendly lodge. Sipping a tea in the morning, with a soundscape of birdsong, whilst looking out to the views over the lake, created the best start to the day. Charlotte made sure we had everything we could need and was so welcoming, as well as helpful with any queries. So many great walks to enjoy, as well as a range of local pubs. And after we checked out, brunch in nearby Upton upon Severn extended that holiday feeling a little longer!

We stayed for 3 days and were lucky with beautiful blue skies and sunshine. First impressions, a lovely walk into through spring flowering bulbs, and when we turned the corner to the Cabin- Wow! what a view. Lovely having a veranda to sit on, and we were very happy to have two lazy mornings reading and enjoying the woodburner,coffee and magnificent views. Enjoyed a beautiful walk up on to the Hergest ridge- time it with a visit to the gardens and coffee shop on the way down. And a very muddy walk, heading down to the local village- wellies/gaiters recommended if it been wet. We didn't get to meet the owner, Georgie, but she was warm in her welcome, very helpful with advice and prompt in replying to messages. The cabin felt a labour of love and we much appreciated its charm, design and thoughtfulness. Thankyou

We had a great time in this beautiful airbnb. It was so peaceful and surrounded by nature. Rowan was a good host.

Angela was a great host and has clearly put a lot of effort into the railway carriages. We had a lovely stay and the place was very clean and comfortable. A beautiful view to wake up to!

Our stay at Heather and Stone was heavenly—far exceeding the beauty captured in the photos and truly resembling a real-life fairytale. The entire property felt wonderfully secluded, yet it was perfectly located within easy reach of charming pubs and breathtaking scenic walks. I cannot recommend it enough. The kitchen was fully stocked with thoughtful goodies and equipped with every accessory we could possibly need. Patricia and her husband were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay, even going above and beyond to assist us with a flat tire and provide clear directions home.

Absolutely loved our stay at Ruth’s Retreat. On arrival Ruth & Dean were ready to show us our cabin and give us a quick demonstration on hot tub & where the lights etc is in cabin. Cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for the weekend. Lovely private space in the hot tub with beautiful views. Ruth & Dean are lovely to speak to and very helpful if needed anything. Will 100% be looking at staying again and will be recommending to friends & family.

This was our second stay at the cabins. We stayed in the one with the hot tub this time. We had a wonderful stay, the cabins had everything we needed and were spotless. The hot tub was lovely and we made use of it every day. I would throughly recommend staying here.

The cabin was phenomenal. David was so welcoming, helpful, and responsive. Such a dog friendly place and the food in the cafe was amazing.

Lavender lodge was the perfect getaway for a quiet NYE. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed its surroundings and amenities. It was easy to access with additional directions from Alison prior to arrival. Thank you Alison.
