Our family stayed at the Gufler Mansion during a very hard time in our lives. We were there for the funeral of our nephew and Brad made our stay as happy and peaceful as humanly possible. He went out of his way to take care of us, share in our grief and give us a place to celebrate the life of a beautiful little boy where it all felt like home! We will never forget our stay and highly recommend this AirBnB to anyone looking for an excellent experience. Thanks again, Brad!

Grace was very responsive and went out of her way to help us. The house was extremely clean and well furnished. Snacks were plentiful and even had fresh milk and eggs in the fridge along with cereal cups available for breakfast. Was exactly what we needed for a wedding we attended. Was two miles from downtown Emporia. Oh, there was even toothpaste, toothbrushes, razor and other stuff that were available for anything you may have forgot to pack!

I stayed with Peggy for Unbound 2023 and had a great stay. She made my wife and I feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The house is located on a very private, peaceful lot and a short drive or bike ride from town. I had an easy 10 minute ride from the house to the start line, which made my race morning routine very easy. The race also passes very close to the house so it was convenient for my wife to sleep in a little and watch as I rode by.

Rental a room at Donna and Jim’s for the Unbound race and it was a great location. 6 miles from town, peaceful surroundings. Donna provided a wonderful egg, cereal, fruit and oancake every morning, even on the race day she had breakfast ready for us at 4am. There were also little kittens to play with around the garden. Wonderful stay and will definitely stay again’

I grew up in Emporia and my parents lived six blocks from the Gufler Mansion for many years, and I walked by it often from their home to Emporia State University. I finally had a chance to stay in this beautiful house, and I'm so glad I did. Brad and Susan were the perfect hosts, kind and accommodating, as was their associate Selena. There was a large bridal shower happening when I arrived, and a group was setting up for a wedding that evening, but Brad still managed to make time to give several of us a tour of the house, from the third floor to the basement. My room was lovely, and I enjoyed a quiet evening reading a book from the library. Highly recommend a stay here, should you be lucky enough to find a room available. I can't wait to come back -- and I'll stay longer next time.

This is a very wonderful unique property. I have never had the chance to stay in a piece of history like this before and we had a great time exploring the whole house. They give you flashlights to play hide and seek in the dark and chocolates in each room as a little treat on arrival. Beds were standard but still comfortable and there were speakers we hooked our phones up to and played music while we sat and enjoyed our evening in the solarium room. So many cool hang out spots in this house. Great for a weekend couples trip. We didn’t have to chafe with any other guests on this particular weekend but I would be more than comfortable sharing since the space is so well set up to have lots of private retreats for people to go to talk. Breakfast as amazing in the morning and they were so friendly and generous with everything! We are already planning to go back!

Brad was so friendly. Best time was coffee and continental breakfast with other guest and Brad. We were in town for the Master World Championship, several guest were participants. Disc basket set up made for great putting practice. Everyone in Emporia is so friendly! Great trip and staying at the mansion was an epic home away from home!
