Beautiful home, very clean with plenty of space for a family to relax. The location was a quiet, upscale neighborhood close to restaurants and businesses when needed. we will definitely choose them again.

We had a lovely stay in "The Small House" over President's day weekend. The house was spacious enough for 5 guests and our dog. Loved that it was decorated for Valentine's day! The house was well situated in the valley so there was easy access to Wintergreen, hiking trails and all the breweries and wineries!!

Stephen's house was exactly what my family needed for a relaxing long weekend to be together. The house suited our needs extremely well with so many places to gather but also comfy spaces to curl up and read or take a nap. The deck overlooked the beautiful yard and view of the water with plenty of seating for all of us. The sunroom was enjoyable from morning til late at night, listening to the owls. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for multiple cooks. My adult children enjoyed kayaking several times, especially since the house is tucked away from the main part of the lake, so we had very little water traffic. We only ventured out once to visit some wineries and pick up a pizza, preferring to just stay and enjoy the setting, although there was information about things to do in the area. This was our first of hopefully many visits to SML and I don't think we'll bother to search for a different house. We're already talking about our next time there!

The Pine Meadow Retreat accommodated us and another couple beautifully, with private spaces and bathrooms for each couple and comfortable shared space, in particular the big kitchen island which easily seats four. The kitchen is spacious, up-to-date, and very well equipped. The setting is beautiful and quiet. We would gladly stay there again.

Was an awesome place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere in the area.

Mr. Terry was "proactive", helping to answer questions before my rental. Then sending a message a week before arrival. Taking time to answer questions and ensured my stay was effortless. This was my 3rd AirBnB reservation in 3 years and I look forward to seeking AirBnB options for any stays. Terry's house was very convenient to Hwy29 (1mile) , LU (10mins). The Hottub jets were amazing. The Firepit under the clear night with stars were bright. Everyone in my group hopes we can return next year! Thank you.

Nice country home. Very quiet. Lots of space in the yard. Kitchen is well equipped. We especially loved having the fur babies with us. We would stay again.

Great cozy spot in Lovingston! Ed was a wonderful host, very responsive and helpful. Despite all the rain we were able to have a lovely weekend getaway. Wineries and restaurant options close by.

The apartment is very comfortable and cozy feeling. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The kitchen and bathroom were both well stocked with anything we might need. Very nice outdoor sitting and eating area as well. We had such a relaxing time!

What a gem! We were in Lynchburg to help our kids get their new house ready. The Crows Nest was blocks from their new place which made it walkable. Everything was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Welcome soaker tub with bath salts which was a godsend after a hard day’s work. Only thing we missed was some pots and baking dishes.

Great location and place to stay for a visit to Lexington. I’d highly recommend!

Would highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing weekend. This was a repeat stay, and everything was just as nice as the last time. Quick communication with Gwendolyn was appreciated, and everything we needed was available or offered.

Staying with Mr Jane was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the apartment was cozy and spotless. The place was well-equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. This is a peaceful downstairs apartment with private entry and beautiful backyard with swimming pool. Mrs Jane was always available to answer our questions. unforgettable experience! Highly recommended!" 

Great spot! Hope very much to return. Pros: very nicely appointed cabin. Not luxury but pretty close! Has all the things you need to make an enjoyable stay. Incredibly good access to hiking, both on foot straight from cabin and by taking a short drive. We really enjoyed the bonfire pit and the supply of firewood. We went in the winter and it was nice to get a bit of snow. Would probably be gorgeous bird watching and such in the summer. Really nice to be surrounded by nothing but trees. Felt like we had a whole mountain to ourselves. Cons: I am noise sensitive, and I did find the main cabin to be pretty close quarters. So if you’re like me or are seeking privacy or quiet amongst a loud group of folks, maybe something to think about. Also not the easiest kitchen to make a big meal (no dishwasher, small drying rack) but we definitely made it work for 5 people. Also to note — we had a couple 2WD cars that made it up the hill to the cabin, but we brought them back down hill for snow

Such a beautiful and peaceful cabin, with a fire pit next to a relaxing creek. No cell reception or WiFi, obviously, but the listing makes that clear and Gertie's restaurant a few minutes away has free Starlink if you really need to get online. There's really nothing wrong with this place, which is rare to find. Seriously, trying to think of anything negative, the bet I can come up with is that the air unit over the bed makes very high-pitched whine. It's too high for most people to hear. My wife could hear it but I couldn't until I made an audio recording and lowered the pitch. The owner probably isn't even aware of it. That's the best I can come up with for a complaint, haha. Great place to get away from the world and if you get too bored but want to stay inside, there are loads of books downstairs, and movies (new and old) upstairs.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our coffee in the mornings on the porch listening to the birds and the cows. Walking through the orchards and feeding the goats and donkey was a great surprise. It was the perfect get away to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet. The recommendations given were perfect as well. We enjoyed dinner at Vito’s and lunch AND dinner at Woodruff’s Cafe & Pies! We will definitely will return!

Amazing place to stay. Ive stayed in a few other places in the shenandoah area over the years and this one tops them all. Happily would return to this haven.

It’s simple, we love this cabin and location.

I’d argue that this is one of the best places to stay in Wintergreen. The cabin itself is perfect. We are a young family and it was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The location is also perfect. It is very close to all the attractions on the resort. Clay was a great host as well. The perfect amount of communication; engaged without being intrusive. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be sure their trip is easy and successful!

I had a wonderful time, and would certainly return for another visit. The experience was seamless, productive, and rewarding! At the time of my visit, March, I was a little disappointed in the condition of the hiking trails. There were several felled trees on both the trails I attempted, but given the stormy winter we've had and the season I chose, it's hardly surprising. I will say, I look forward to enjoying these trails fully next time!!

Really amazingly beautiful property. The river views are stunning. Remote location but still modern amenities. Also the kitchen has enough to make almost anything there. We had a great time, would love an easier way to get to the water, but still enjoyed all the hiking available on the property. 10/10 will likely stay here again.
