Absolutely amazing. Beautiful view of the beach and surrounding area. We got lucky and saw the northern lights! The place was super cozy. Loved the extra effort the hosts put in to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a dog bed, doggy treats and board games. The Christmas tree and bottle of Prosecco were a much appreciated bonus. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

Every year we pick a new location in Scotland to celebrate my brother's birthday, and this one was one of our favorites so far. The host left many nice touches around the house, including a bottle of Prosecco, as well as some treats for our dog. The location was perfect for us (30 minutes from the Orkney ferry, walking distance from town center, and near some beautiful locations for short walks). Would definitely book this place again.

What a beautiful place Mike has has. It instantly felt comfortable and easy to stay in. Decor is tasteful and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub is an added bonus. We really loved staying here.

Our third stay in this wonderful house . Homely and cosy with a great log burner and everything you need . Stunning views and great access to the beautiful north coast . Bring a head torch if you arrive after dark . Logs are available at Bettyhill cafe and the Wee Shop on the way to Thurso . Can’t recommend highly enough as a great ‘getaway from it all ‘ place to relax and unwind .

What an absolute dream of a place to stay. Recently fully renovated and it is simply stunning. Minutes from the center of Wick and just off the NC 500, Drumdry was an ideal base for exploring the far northeastern corner of Scotland. The cottage was situated among beautiful farm fields and our son loved saying hi every morning to the sheep outside. And I can’t say enough how wonderful the owner is. She not only was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived, she also thoughtfully brought us a bunch of toys for our son to play with and feel more at home. I literally don’t think you could ask for a better host. Indeed our whole experience at Drumdry was so lovely it has reset the bar for what a 5 star stay is. I couldn’t recommend a stay here highly enough!

We had the most incredible stay! Pat was the perfect host and the property was so lovely. We felt right at home and fully relaxed our entire stay. The views are amazing, we had some lovely walks and it was the perfect setting for New Year. Would love to come back in the summer! Thanks so much x

Great place to stay outside main Orkney towns but easy driving distance to everywhere. bistro and bakery onsite. helped organise bike hire on Rousay. hosts really helpful and accommodating of extra requests. warm and cosy at night and stunning daytime weather.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful location. Deer literally outside on the lane, usually at 8am!...view from the twin bedroom window! beautiful to watch. Good enclosed large garden. Cottage is well loved and much care and attention to detail inside shows this. Hosts are very responsive and friendly to communicate with. They care about their guests. I would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation to anyone.

Lovely place to stay, excellent views across the hillside. Good selection of books and a few games, comfy bed and hot shower. Had a day trip to Egilsay and enjoyed multiple Cairns on Rousay itself. Very relaxing stay.

The Auld Kitchen gave us the perfect base to the Orkneys. It was well situated, beautifully presented, warm and cosy. After a fabulous day touring we loved returning to our beautiful cottage with a lovely log burner. Sammy kindly supplied enough logs and coal for the whole week. The cottage looks over the Churchill Barriers and is very close to both the Orkney Fossil and Heritage centre (a fantastic introduction to the Orkneys) and the Italian Chapel. Kirkwall is an easy 20 minutes and a gateway to the islands and history of the Orkneys. In short we loved our stay in the Auld Kitchen. Thank you 🙏

This cottage is wonderful! Perfect location - within walking distance of the Standing Stones, Ring of Brodgar and Maeshow. It’s got everything and more you could possibly need or want from your stay in Orkney. It is such a gem!

We can only wholeheartedly recommend Ian and Barbara's place. They are wonderful, warm, and extremely helpful hosts. We have spent many holidays in Scotland, and they rank on top of the list. Actually, having them around from the first hour, we felt like being invited into their family. This is perhaps their greatest give to any guest. Thank you, Ian and Barbara.

Amazing stay, cottage was in a beautiful location and was well furnished and clean. Lovely kitchen with enough pots pans and utensils to cook anything you need. Made great use of the fire which made the cottage very cosy. On a clear night, you get stunning views of the stars. Kathleen was also very friendly and approachable - wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else next time I come to Hoy!

We really enjoyed staying here! This house is a short 10min drive from Kirkwall and sits in the middle of beautiful countryside. A highlight was having breakfast in the conservatory looking out over the fields to the bay beyond. The house was much larger than we expected with a large kitchen-dining room and separate living room; a great place to stay!

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic central location to explore Orkney from. House spotless and well equipped. Particular highlight was the views of the loch from the kitchen window. Would highly recommend.
