we stayed at the piggery to explore the north wales driving roads. safe to say a perfect location close to the betws y coed passes through snowdonia and some fantastic winding roads through some amazing scenery. the place was perfect for unwinding in the hot tub with amazing views. good point for cars is the secure parking and it’s close to the a5 which will get you anywhere.

Had a wonderful 2 nights staying in the cottage on a working farm. It felt really peaceful but was also only a 5-10 min drive to Ruthin. We stayed here so we could go walking in the Clwydian Range, this was around a 15-20 min drive depending on which car park we wanted to start the walk from, but it was all perfect for us. We even found a short local walk from the cottage itself along a public footpath. The cottage was very well equipped, we used the kitchen each evening, and it was a lovely cozy space. The cottage was immaculate and we really enjoyed the hot tub, and watching the horses nearby. Richard and Ceri were lovely and welcoming hosts and we'd highly recommend the rural retreat.

We had a lovely stay at Pilgrim Cottage. Cosy, easy to find, and squeaky clean! We didn’t use the hot tub as we were out for most of the day, but it is a beautiful set up and it was a shame not to have had time to give it a go. The beds were really comfy and we so slept well with it being so quiet. Overall, we would recommend and thank you Sam for being so communicative ☺️

Our second time staying here and we’d come back again any time :) Our hosts could not have been more helpful. The location is great. The space is private and lovely. Hot tub, log fire and a great view a lovely place to come for a break and really well situated to get to lots of places in wales.

If you would like to get away someplace private and peaceful and just to relax I couldn’t recommend this more! It’s a lovely place and just amazing. Plenty to do nearby and just a great time!

We had a fab stay at Jane's place. It was cosy and comfy and the hot tub was great with a lovely view out onto the garden. Jane was really helpful with the instructions about how to get there and gave some good recommendations - The Nags Head pub did a great Sunday lunch. We had a refreshing blowy walk up Pontesbury Hill - would recommend but be prepared for a very steep climb!!

Sometimes you need a break. We needed a break, so we chose this place because have a young dog and wanted somewhere near a beach and good walks. What we found was an ideal place for a few days away. The bungalow sits opposite an area of sand dunes - home to a surprising variety of birds. The garden is fully enclosed and well set up for dogs. The back garden is quite a sun trap and we were able to sit out in the afternoon, even in March. Thanks to Kirsty for providing everything we needed.

LIz made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Location was lovely with the river Goyt just at the end of the garden area. Lovely local walks. A massive thankyou for the riding lesson above and beyond. We will definitely plan to come back as Daisy had the time of her life for her first holiday. Thankyou Sarah Mick and Daisy x

We stayed for two nights at Tim’s cottage and it was a truly wonderful stay. The accommodation is spotless, and the decor is modern and tasteful. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved all the little added extras like board games, books, and biscuits. The welcome book was fantastic and very informative. We visited one of the pubs recommended by Tim in the book – The Corn Mill in Llangollen – and it was outstanding. I’d highly recommend Tim’s place and we can’t wait to return!

Robert’s was a real ‘home from home’ (sorry for the cliche but it was). We felt right at home in a cute, pristine and peaceful setting that had everything you’d ever need. The beautiful courtyard garden at the rear was right on the towpath but still peaceful to sit out and have breakfast while we watched the world go by slowly - after we’d all slept so, so well. The cottage is also really convenient for Chester which we visited on the Saturday and we were really impressed with the huge variety of shops and restaurants. So we ran out of time for the walkable pubs near the cottage, but appreciated the recommendations and really clear instructions anyway! Thanks Robert for sharing your home and a wonderful stay!

Dear Emma and Andrew Thanking you so much for our stay at your beautiful Lock House, it was just the therapy needed at a very difficult time for my elderly mum. The location is idyllic, we loved hearing the new born lambs and watching them bounce around the field in the sunshine. We even had a visit from a gorgeous swan! Lock House is immaculate inside and out, a real home from home. So clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped with lots of thoughtful extra touches including the welcome pack and fresh flowers on our arrival. We had a really wonderful restful break and we hope to return again in the future.

What a perfect stay! Jo’s place was lovely, it had everything you could need. Was quiet, peaceful, exactly as described. Jo’s guide to the place was so thorough and very helpful. We went on some lovely walks in the area - great location, can get to some really great spots without driving. Will come again :)

Three words……. UN-BELIEVE-ABLE! From the second we booked it, Ruth’s communication was first class and her recommendations for local restaurants and things to do in the area were superb. Ruth and Alan were there to greet us which was a lovely touch and made myself, my wife and our 4 year old feel very welcome which was in keeping with the warm and lovely home they have created at their cottage. The cottage is beautiful, peaceful, spacious for 3 people, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, is in a great location close by to Pontcysllte Aqueduct (which was recommended by Ruth and was an incredible day out) and Chester Zoo and many other beautiful places. Gorgeous cottage… Beautiful setting… Incredibly wonderful hosts! Thank you

Lovely quiet cottage with nice dog walks. Kitchen was well equipped to cook. Cottage was warm and cosy.

This place is so beautiful, and Tanya is a great host! If you want a peaceful and quiet get away the cottage is perfect! Loads of space, and so well equipped, it’s very secluded but the grounds are huge and it’s easy to get around to local pubs and walks if you want to get out and about.

We have been here a while due to house renovations , Nothing but 1st class service . Always helpful Always responsive Very very clean. Lots of clean linen . Location is stunning , watching the wildlife especially the “Kites” are awesome at dusk . Peaceful surroundings . Local pub food very good . Lots of walking and a handy book to help you find your way . Highly recommended .

We stayed with our kids over Newyear and it was the perfect spot for us - close to neighbouring friends. Despite the howling storm and winds it was very cosy! we loved the cottage especially the decor and attention to detail. It had everything we needed for our short trip. We would love to come and visit again soon :)

Great location and lovely little touches made by Juile to make it homely. Really enjoyed our stay. One small point for possible improvement could be better mattresses. Apart from that very enjoyable.

First of all a very friendly and personable host. An ideal property for a couple Cosy lounge, very usable kitchen, spacious bathroom with large shower cubicle and a good sized bedroom with comfortable bed.

We stayed at Owl's Watch over the Christmas period. It was a lovely hideaway and had everything you need. We appreciated the fresh pint of milk, Welsh cakes and wood to get the fire started. The property was clean and modern throughout and had some Christmas decorations so it felt like a home away from home. Everything was laid out very logically and felt well designed. We hope to come back at some point! :-)

Stunning and peaceful setting, located right on the riverside with your own private patio area to sit and watch the birds while having a morning coffee. The cottage was so warm and cosy and we really made the most of the log fire in the evenings. We also had a great dinner at the Grouse pub, just a few minutes walk away. Definitely recommend this beautiful place!

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was cosy, warm, homely and comfortable. We really appreciated the delicious farm milk and butter, the muffins and the home made marmalade. The cottage is in a lovely quiet setting and we could walk from the door. Genevieve and her husband were both very friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Penny was a great cost, extremely welcoming and very responsive. The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. We also got to meet Penny’s sheep. Thank you for the chocolate cake, it was a lovely touch.
