Barb and Mike are amazing hosts and we had a lovely and comfortable stay at Tongariro Adventures. The national park is only a short drive away. The waterfront is a few steps away and there are amazing trails around the area. Barb and Mike’s place exceeded our expectations and their hospitality made us feel very welcome. Also, top marks for the amazing breakfast!!

I normally leave 5 stars because everything is fine or as expected, but I would leave this place 6 stars if I could. It’s far and away the best AirBnB I have stayed at. The place itself is very tranquil, homey and a great spot to unwind, yet also only 5 minutes into town for restaurants. Melana was such a great host from offering a welcome drink and snack, to giving local restaurant suggestions, to providing a choice of hot breakfast in the morning. I only stayed one night, but would definitely seek her place out again the next time I’m back in the area.

Absolutely lovely B&B after the Timber Trail. Many of the timber trail guides up in Ongarue seem to live in the area and are therefore happy to give a ride. The room was clean, comfortable, and nice artifacts and decor around the house, which feels like a French manor. (Also 3 friendly cats and a dog, and breakfast waiting for us downstairs in the morning.)

Such a peaceful place to stay. The surrounding countryside is beautiful - best viewed from the spa! We were very comfortable and definitely recommend to others.

Beautiful getaway experience! Amazing views, green grass, yummy breakfast and loved the private spa! The only thing the chalets need are privacy screens between each other to ensure extra privacy as you can see directly into another’s chalet/porch area

AWESOME! The best part of Geoff's place is Geoff himself! He was very accommodating of my last-minute booking, and was so helpful throughout my entire stay. At check in, Geoff makes sure to personally greet you and show you around his beautiful property (with gardens, chickens, fruit trees, and a glowworm grotto). The location is great, a 10 minute drive from downtown Taupo, near a peaceful beach on Lake Taupo, and walking trails around. The room has everything you need and is exactly as described. I loved staying here. P.S., if Geoff offers to have coffee together - do it! He has awesome stories.

We had a fantastic stay. Craig and Lynne are excellent hosts and the cottage is beautiful in a stunning garden. Breakfast and ‘snacks’ are a real treat, thank you. We’d love to come back.

We did not meet the hosts who were unexpectedly away and were redirected to Bird Cottage at no extra cost. Communication was great, the cottage ( a renovated old schoolhouse) was spacious,very peaceful, and had all the amenities we needed. Clean and comfortable and light breakfast provided. Beautiful outlook and a great spot to break a long journey

Very friendly an helpful hosts and a lovely rural setting in the country. Very friendly dogs Winston and Lexi (who loved her frisby throwing). Enjoyable stay.

Everything was seamless, comms, interaction etc. Tony was very friendly and welcoming. Both he and Suzi were great to chat with. Their home accomodation was very fresh, modern, well appointed and comfortable.

Anne was a very friendly host, while I didn’t spend much time at the house, due to a busy schedule at the racetrack, Anne was very accommodating, letting me wash my can at her house, and also offering to cook me breakfast, unfortunately my early starts meant I didn’t have time for a home cooked breakfast, but hopefully I’ll have more time on my next visit.

Great place, Gary & Penny made us feel right at home! Loved Taupo and hope to come back.

Had such a comfortable stay for 8 nights while attending block course at Massey. Accommodation was perfect for relaxing and getting some study done. Room is spacious and has everything you could need. 200m away from esplanade walk. Was 45-50min stroll to Uni. Great way to start and finish the day. Saj let me know about food festival over the weekend, and was a great host messaging to check everything was OK. Thanks for having me Saj and whānau, I recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet getaway.

this was an incredibly comfortable stay, especially for the price, it was an absolute steal! The hosts put effort and thought into so many small things that added to the overall experience. We would love to stay again. Also the friendly tabby was an added bonus!

We loved our stay at Andrea’s place. Her house is really big and cozy and furnished with a lot of love to detail. Especially the bed was a dream! Andrea is very welcoming and has a beautiful kind hearted and positive spirit. We absolutely recommend staying with her!

We really enjoyed our stay at Fran’s. Very private and lovely rooms. We especially loved the great breakfast selection. Easy contactless entry to the rooms and peaceful location. Fran is very friendly and accomodating. We would stay there again if ever we travelled back to the Manawatu.

Quiet and peaceful. A relaxing place to rest after our busy days harvesting at a local vineyard. Neta is a wonderful host. Highly recommend. The home cooked breakfast each day was awesome. Andrea is super friendly, and the breakfast is delightful. I arrived in the morning and the check in was flexible. The house is cozy and very close to the mainstreet. All and all a good experience staying at Andrea’s.
