Renta de alojamientos vacacionales con alberca en Manda Island

We verbleven een maand in het prachtige Wimbi House samen met onze 3 kinderen en onze nanny. Wimbi is een prachtige nieuwe villa in Shela en is op wandelafstand van de kust en de verschillende winkeltjes. Het huis is enorm ruim met grote slaapkamers en badkamers. We vonden het heerlijk op de bovenste verdieping onder de makuti.m en genoten er dagelijks van het zicht op zee. Onze kinderen hebben enorm genoten van het verfrissende zwembad. Last but not least heeft Wimbi een fantastische staff die je helemaal thuis voelen en met de glimlach voor je klaar staat. We zijn enorme fan van Wimbi en raden zeker aan.

La casa di Hannah è splendida, dotata di tutti i comfort, arredata con semplicità e grande gusto, con dettagli non da poco. Non manca nulla, ma proprio nulla, dai teli mare alla governante che fa il bucato tutti i giorni ai mobili colorati in plastica riciclata che sembra legno recuperato. Per non parlare del cuoco... eccezionale... Chiedetegli di preparare pesce e verdure e vi saprà stupire. Ma poi coi granchi allo zenzero vi lascerà a bocca aperta. La casa è sempre ventilata e soprattutto la terrazza alta è perfetta per rilassarsi sull'amaca. È infine Hannah, la padrona di casa, gentilissima e attenta a ogni nostra esigenza senza mai essere invadente. Non si potrà non ritornare!

The Dunes is a very special and beautiful home. The photos were helpful in our initial booking and on arrival we were in awe with how breathtaking the property is in real life. In particular, we spent many hours in the pool which was kept sparkling for our entire week’s stay. Marianne was a very responsive host, replying to any questions very quickly throughout our time at The Dunes. Abu, the caretaker, was very kind and knowledgeable, organising day trips and a very special sunset dhow experience- nothing was too much trouble. The house is kept spotless by Joyce which was really appreciated and chef Tomick was very flexible with our varied schedules each day. At night, we felt very safe with Muhammad’s unobtrusive presence. I highly recommend you treat yourself with spending time in this amazing property.

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Shela! We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and the most magnificent garden! Claire is a very responsive host who provided tailored recommendations for our needs.

We loved our stay at Pumbao House. It was perfect for our family: two parents and three young adults. It was our final stop after an few weeks traveling through Kenya, and provided the peaceful, casual, comfortable space we needed. We enjoyed every meal cooked by Mwembe, and left the decision making up to him. It was not hard to say "yes!" to "catch of the day"! He and Alex made us feel at home, and were so helpful in every way. Every bedroom was spacious and had an en suite bathroom. We used the pool every day, as well as the outdoor shower. Peponi's was just a few steps away and provided the perfect place for a "sundowner" and a card game at the end of each day, before returning to the house for dinner. I would definitely recommend this house for a family or couples/families traveling together. We created amazing memories there, especially up in the "crow's nest" at the top of the house, where we lay on deep comfortable cushions to look at the stars. We will be back!

Tarik was a great host, property was just like the photos. He gave us options of how to arrive at the accommodation and we chose the one with an assisted guide to make finding the place a lot easier/faster, plus check-in was quick, painless & flexible. It's in a great location and although not found if navigating via Google maps, it is very easy to find. Plenty of restaurants, little stores and chemists nearby if needed. The place was very clean and quiet with the downstairs pool very clean. The oversized chair in the living room can also double as an extra bed for parties with an extra individual. The wifi is good, the staff is great (they cleaned up midweek during our stay and also helped get rid of a massive spider at my request). Tarik was also great at recommending who we needed to contact for things such as getting around or signing up for activities such as the sunset sail or snorkeling day trip. Other than a minor issue already raised with Tarik, I highly recommend.

Bee House is a very cute house, well furnished. The house is very accessible yet private. Our host, Abdulrahman, was a great host: he helped us with all the information he judged useful (and they were): a contact for a captain to arrange transfer from airport and to other islands, another contact for a very nice dhow ride at sunset, a chef that could cook for us whatever dish we asked. On top of that, Abdulrahman has been very kind, always making sure everything went well and very reactive. I already know that I'll stay at one of his properties my next stay in Shela!

Tawny was friendly and responded right away to my many questions. Jackson was also great and the chef made INCREDIBLE food. There are quite a few stairs up to Solar House and it's serene up there. Very short walk to the beach, Peponi, or anywhere you'd want to be. When there was an issue with the water flow, the staff solved it immediately and with smiles. We'll be back!! Thank you!!

Loved this place stayed June 2024. The host even arranged a boat transfer to the airport for us... unfortunately we didn't know about this service until we had got to the apartment and made our own way across the water, but do contact the host before you fly and I'm sure they'll take care of you. The space is huge, there were just 2 of us and it felt like a home. There was always someone available at the property to assist with any queries we had. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Lamu! We recommend Sailor's Joint restaurant for nice fish and amaizing mango juice at great price :D
