Hemos pasado unos días estupendos en Shela. El lugar es hermoso y reina la paz. La casa de Chloé es cómoda y acogedora. Dickson ha sido un anfitrión muy amable y profesional. Ha atendido rápidamente todas nuestras solicitudes y nos ha deleitado cada día con su cocina. La casa de Chloé es muy recomendable y, si vuelvo a Shela seguro que repetimos. Muchas gracias por unos días geniales.

À noter que nous n'avons pas été logés dans la maison de Gilles mais dans celle, attenante, de sa soeur Fabienne. Gilles a été très réactif après un problème de calendrier de réservation. En tout cas, chez Fabienne, superbe logement, et accueil impeccable! A recommander.

Нам понравися дизайн комнат, но комнаты были очень разные (по площади и комфорту). Очень приятный дворик с бассейном. Очень вежливый и приятный персонал. Повар делает великолепные фруктовые салаты на завтрак. Поскольку окна не застекленные, кондиционер не предусмотрен, и, поэтому, в помещениях, особенно на нижнем этаже, очень душно. Одна комната на нижнем этаже маленькая и в ней тесно. Несмотря на то, что море рядом, до хорошего пляжа идти минут 10.

Absolutely one of the best places we have ever stayed. Beautiful house, amazing team, great location. We felt very lucky.

The team, location and the facilities at Moon Houses are excellent. The house keeper, cook and manager were all exceptional in their efforts to ensure we enjoyed a relaxing stay. A highly recommended place to stay!

We loved Livia’s place (Amani House). While it is a short walk from the coast and central Shela, it’s a pleasant walk through neighborhoods with lots to see. It also felt more relaxing to be on the edge of town than right in it. The chef (Martin) was phenomenal and the groundsman (Philicent) and the housekeeper (Elina) were kind and helpful. Plus you have to take a dhow ride with Omar! He’s a wonderful man. We would love to stay there again!

We had a wonderful 5-day stay in Lamu. The service was outstanding, the meals were delicious with a chef who took great care of us, and the house was impeccable. Nina and Jamal were very responsive to our requests. The house is perfectly located right on the water, between the pool and the sea, with plenty of shaded areas thanks to several patios. We will definitely come back!

This is a lovely house, well designed with a great swimming pool (in shade in the afternoon). As others have said, it is some way out of the centre of the village, so you have to walk 10-15 minutes to get there. Fixtures need some finishing, and mosquito nets don't seal and need a rethink - the rest is very nicely done, with lots of space, and its position in the dunes means there is a good breeze. The staff are wonderful - Eli is the curry king, and everyone was very helpful. It's a nice touch to have the boat transfer included.

We loved the Asali house. Beautiful, and very well designed. It was great to have the pool! The Chef, Daniel, was very talented and prepared wonderful meals for us. During our 5 night stay, we only had dinner at a restaurant the first night, since Daniel's dishes were so delicious. He prepared fresh caught seafood for us every day! The housekeeper, Margaret, was so sweet, kept a very clean house, gave us a nice "turn-down" service each evening laundry service whenever we needed it. Our sheets were always nice. The gardener, Kazungu, kept bougainvillea bouquets on the dining room table, in our bathroom, and in all the foot baths in the yard. So pretty. Monica gave us superb deep tissue massages! Sheke, our host, was always available to assist with our activities and walks into town. The paths through town are winding, so it takes some skill to find our way. We had such a wonderful experience in amazing Shela Lamu. Our sunset sail was dreamy. The people are so kind & friendly. Loved it!

Lovely place in the hustle and bustle of old town Lamu. Jamhuri and Zeinab are super helpful and kind and Abu was a great tour guide who has a lot of passion for Lamu. Tarik has been wonderful from the start and flexible and considerate so if you’re looking for a place in town this is the spot!

We absolutely loved our stay. The host was very fast to respond & suggested thoughtful activities for us. The house is well designed, full of Art, books, films to look at. The swimming pool was a highlight. The location is at the heart of Lamu & very accessible from the waterfront. The chef was one of the best we have experienced in Lamu & the caretaker was very sweet with our kids. We highly reccomend this place!

We enjoyed our stay, it's an easy walk from the main Shela center, though we typically used the help of the on-site guide to find our way to and from the jetty as it's all a bit of a maze when you're new. The private chef was great, lovely and accommodating to our vegan meal requests. We also did a dhow sunset sail trip with the recommended boat captian Omar who was the nicest man in the world. The small pool was a nice simple touch, which we made use of to chill when needed. It is private, though there are neighbouring properties with workers building etc who can look over into the pool area. There is a shortcut nearby right to the southern part of the beach which bypasses the township which was a welcome discovery. We were by ourselves in the building, if others had been staying in the lower level rooms we would have needed to take the stairwell down through their open kitchen entrance space, a small inconvenience. Very happy overall with our two nights in the top floor room.
