I’ve only stayed at about a dozen or so places, but this was the best so far. Very clean and comfortable.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Hall's Haven and it was a perfect spot for our two families of 4, ages 7 thru 50! The welcome treats were such a nice added touch and much appreciated. Lots of space for kids and adults to spread out and plenty of toys and games for everyone. Lots of space for ski gear too! We loved having fires and cooking big meals together in the kitchen, which had everything we could possibly need. There was SO much snow and every window had a beautiful view of the snowy woods. Quiet, lovely neighborhood near the Lakeview Inn and just 5 minutes to Schuss Village for skiing. The sauna was an added luxury after a day of skiing! We had the best weekend together! Chelsea was very welcoming and accommodating! We spent a few days at Shanty Creek for a conference and went skiing at Schuss Mountain. Great location for both activities! Highly recommend staying here- Chelsea was a wonderful host!

This was a great place in a great location for our family who had events to attend in nearby Big Rapids. As this was a winter trip can only imagine the house and the whole area would make for a fantastic holiday.

Comfortable stay for 15 people. Nice area. Great big back porch which was nice during the day and evening. Would highly recommend this place to stay. So many kitchen appliances. Lots of towels and beach towels. Fully furnished.

Great place for the family. Plenty of things to do at the house. Also not too far from Traverse City or Boyne Mountain. Would definitely stay here again!!

Such a beautiful home! The indoor pool was a hit with our kids because of some chilly weather. We enjoyed our stay.

My husband & I rented Melissa's cottage for a weekend getaway to Traverse City. It was so peaceful & the home was just as described/pictured. The gifts left for us were delicious & made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was perfect for cold mornings & evenings. The cottage was clean & decorated lovely (LOVE all the books!). We feel we chose the perfect rental for our weekend! Leelanau county has a lot to offer & more than we realized! We wine tasted on Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, but apparently there were nice wineries even closer - & one just a couple miles down the road from this rental! The heat worked well and the fireplace was such a nice touch for the winter. I'm so glad it's usable! Thank you again for sharing your cottage with us!

The Mangy Moose is the place to be! John has thought of everything! We came over our spring break (March) for fishing, so we didn't get to use all the summer amenities... But we enjoyed the beautiful kitchen (for yummy home cooked meals), awesome large dining table (for meals and games), large tv with lots of channels, beautiful fireplace, hot tub, and the kids LOVED the club house. Plus the 4-bed & 4-bath setup was perfect to blend (2) families together for a very comfortable stay for 9 people (total) for the week. This place is a true gem and we are already talking about next year!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful cabin retreat! The location was perfect—set on top of a hill with tons of land to explore. It was so quiet and private, exactly what we were looking for. Our kids had an absolute blast running around and adventuring through the woods and open spaces. The whole family loved being able to disconnect and enjoy nature together. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting! We also really appreciated the little things, such as the welcome bottle of wine. Great stay!

My wife and I had a few days off for a fall break. Dennis' place was a perfect spot. The drive there and the surrounding woods were vibrant with color. The place was comfortable, well-suited for a short or long stay, and was stocked with plenty to do. The short path to the lake is great, and the dock provides a lovely view. We spent hours just sitting on the dock chairs reading. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny days. We took the short drive into Traverse City to go to Trattoria Stella, one of our very favorite restaurants. We also took a short hike out back to connect to the Mt Minnie trail and thoroughly enjoyed that hike. Being minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, and Franfort was a perfect location. Our last evening, we went 15 minutes to Peterson Beach and watched the sun set and stayed to watch all the stars emerge in the darkness. It was amazing! We didn't, but we could have built a fire there on the beach.. We hope to return. Thanks Dennis!

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was so nice and clean and very open inside. Had just about everything we needed for our two night stay. I can't say enough good things about the beautiful property. Loved walking the trail in the woods with our dogs. Wish we had more time, but would love to come back and stay in this home again. Thank you for having us!

Hunting trip with some buddies went great, home was clean, host was very attentive and responsive to all communications. We had 2 unavoidable issues during our stay but our host were great and took care of both issues without question, and very timely. I would definately recommend this host and we well likely be booking more trips at other locations as well.

The Big Drake is in on quiet lane right on the lake shore, the place is large while still feeling homey. The kitchen is well l equipped with modern appliances. The heating and AC are controlled by different Nest thermostats, and we were able to keep it at a good temperature. The three main bedrooms are very comfortable--two share an adjoining bathroom, and for one it is around the corner. The kids rooms with bunk beds were great as well. The rooms above the garage were a bit more rustic, but clean and comfortable. The furniture in the living room is very cozy leather and the other furniture is nice, often custom wood like in a fancy lodge. The check-in and check-out were super easy, with clear instructions and communications. The place is 10 minutes from a large grocery store (Meijer) and 20–30 minutes from Traverse city, which is a neat town to explore with excellent food. Overall, we highly recommend and hope we can come back!

Beautiful view over the lake, comfortable accommodations, perfect for a relaxing girl's weekend. Highly recommend!

My husband and I loved this place and the fact it is dog friendly so our two rascals were able to join us! We loved the view and the fire place, the big kitchen that comes with everything you need and the big couch to lounge around on. The only thing was the heater on a very cold night felt it wasnt working but had plenty of blankets to grab. Other than that we would come again and loved it so much!

We really enjoyed our stay at this home! The home was very spacious for our group of 5. We did struggle to find Ubers and Lyfts and taxis seem to book up quickly so we would suggest planning rides in advance. Other than that we couldn’t have asked for a better space and location for our trip! Annemarie is a great host and kept us informed and up to date throughout our entire stay. Would definitely recommend!

Alicia is the best host ever. Always flexible if needed. I always feel right at home when I book with her. You need nothing other than your gear and clothes. Thank you for being such an amazing host for all the years I have been coming up there.

The wind turbines were pretty cool to see and listen to. Also at night time you can see the stars clearly, a great view to witness.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay! It was hard to explore the area because it was so easy to stay in and enjoy all the games, fun and relaxation. It's a beautiful home, had all the essentials needed and the thoughtful bottle of wine that was left for us was the cherry on top! Would definitely love to visit again!

Very nice home! My family of 8 stayed for an extended weekend getaway and we were not disappointed. The home was just as shown in the pictures and the outside/location was very private and serene. It is close proximity to downtown TC and many activities. I would highly recommend!
