It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

Wow - what a magical experience it was staying at your house, Shane & Lesley! The house is absolutely stunning and landscaped impeccably, with such charming touches at every turn. Our only regret is being able to stay just two nights in this beautiful wonderland. We’re already talking about another visit to New Zealand, and will definitely be wanting to rebook for longer with more family to share it with! Thank you so much!

Our stay was fantastic with breathtaking views and spotless accommodations. The amenities were excellent, and we had everything we needed for a great holiday. The host was responsive and provided clear instructions, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend for a comfortable and memorable stay!

Great place to stay up on the hill with gorgeous views of the town and ocean. Margaret and Lou live next door so they are responsive but respectful of privacy. Driveway is steep and the park at the front door of the unit is snug but we were able to back out. Walk to town and beach in 2 minutes. House is a Lockwood so can be creaky. Beds are super comfortable. Linen and pillows are great. Kitchen is good. No dishwasher but no big deal. Washing machine and clothes drying rack for the deck. So quiet. Was perfect for our trip. Margaret is lovely.

Total paradise with stunning views, a private beach and welcoming hosts. The accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed, and did I mention the views? We stayed five nights with 2 adults and 4 children and even when the weather turned rough it was always a relaxing place to be. The beach was stunning, great for swimming, paddle boarding, snorkelling etc. There is a fairly steep bank to navigate to get down to the beach which is no problem for most but something to be aware of if you have mobility constraints. Thank you Marina and Tony for being such great hosts, we hope to be back one day.
