This was our first trip to Maui and we couldn’t have picked a nicer place to stay. The location in Haiku is quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. The cottage is fantastic, perfect for a small family. We ended up spending a bit more time there than we had anticipated as our little one came down with a stomach flu but we couldn’t have been more comfortable. The place is impressively kitted out and Margit has literally thought of everything: from beach towels and snorkelling gear, to a cooler box and beach chairs, and a fully stocked kitchen. There was nothing we could have needed that wasn’t there. Margit was very responsive, made an effort to say hello to us, and brought us delicious fresh fruit to enjoy. Five stars all round!

Martin and Karen were amazing. The Ohana was perfectly equipped, clean, welcoming, peaceful and conveniently located. It is within walking distance of Lanai City, which has a great restaurant at Lani city hotel, a well stocked store, Richard's market, a pharmacy, banks, boutique, movie theatre and more. We rented a jeep to tour the island and the Ohana had beach chairs, towels, cooler etc all available to use. Martin was very fantastic, very responsive, gave great recommendations and insights. We will definitely stay there again and recommend highly this home away from home.

I almost don’t want to share how beautiful this spot is!!! Now everyone will know! It was a perfect location, right down the street from the shops of Paia and Baldwin beach (our favorite). The lounge chairs have such amazing views. Already booking next year! Mahalo Valérie!

Alejandro is an excellent host, "super" in every sense! The property is unparalleled and as long as you are tech-savvy, easy to locate! Fortunately, being in the luxury travel business and familiar with remote locations in general, I made certain to have all GPS assistance with me. If not, it might have been a bit tougher to navigate. Nevertheless, the unit was very clean, quiet, cool and peaceful! Well-stocked (kitchen, bath, and supplies) with full & reliable wi-fi access, streaming services, etc. Keep in mind that the laundry services are shared and hours are limited (not located inside the unit itself). Not a big deal, but something to note for those who like to do laundry at any time of day (or night). It's hard to beat the overall beauty of this expansive farm! I highly recommend it to all and expect to return soon!

We had an incredible time staying in what felt like the middle of the rainforest. On our arrival - which was straightforward - we were greeted with homemade gluten free banana muffins (for my bday) and delicious coffee amongst a few other surprises. The windows allowed a breeze to keep us cool day and night. The booklet had lots of useful trips for nearby walks and local restaurants. And the airbnb is very accessible to local waterfalls, hikes and a gorgeous nearby beach, which was about a 20min walk a long the road (you could also grab some fresh fruit and a smoothie on the way). On our last night, it rained heavily so the stream outside the window was flowing and added to our experience. We would 💯 return! Shower is hot. Place is spacious. There’s a bbq and all amenities for cooking. We generally ate out at the food trucks and two local restaurants but would have cooked if we stayed longer. What an absolute paradise and our host was so friendly and helpful. Thank you, top quality. X

We had a great stay at this cottage. Actually, we loved it! It was very cozy, with a home feeling, clean and very safe. Audrey, the host, was very helpful and friendly. We liked the comfortable bed also very much. If we ever would come back to this island we would book here again for sure. We highly recommended it!

Le logement était très bien . L’espace était parfait et l’emplacement aussi . Quelques petites traces d’insectes mais l’hôte en parle dans sa description donc pas un problème . Nous recommandons cet emplacement et Glen est très chaleureux avec nous . Merci

If you’d like a real taste of what living in Hāna is like this is great. The mosquitos were no joke- we all covered in bites even with bug spray.. but also expected there to be bugs because of where we were. There was a stray cat hanging around and a bit to not feed or encourage the cats (seems like a real issue for that side of the island and stray cats), this was hard for my daughter who is a cat lover. There was everything we needed in the kitchen to make food, however the local market didn’t have many options…so pack in what you’d like to make. Really close to the black sand beach and a great place to stay and feel the rainforest vibe.

great location, so much better than downtown, save 30 min if you do either road to Hana or sunrise. very clean since it is off the ground, and much less insects than other places we stayed (insects is unavoidable in tropical places)

Great space for 1-2 people to enjoy the beaches, nightlife and restaurants of Kihei. Walkable to wonderful spots for sunset and great food, quick drive to everything else. Well equipped kitchen (including stocked tropical fruit!), comfy beds and great rain shower. The large lanai and private location were amazing - wonderful places to watch stars, listen to birds, work and enjoy meals. Suggest confirming check in and check out times with Mia - may vary from listing on Airbnb. Would definitely return!

very happy with this place. Close to road to Hana and Haleakala. Easy access to Kihei, airport, West Maui. Makawao itself is cute and quaint. rooms clean and well appointed. backyard garden is beautifully maintained. host is responsive and went out of her way to provide what we needed. great supplies available for beach or hike outings.

We enjoyed our stay and were very appreciative of the great communication/response times. At first we were a little skeptical about sharing the living room and kitchen, but it wasn’t an issue. I could see it being a problem if there were inconsiderate roommates. I appreciated the honesty and openness about the issues with the location including the noisy neighbors, roosters, and older home. Thank you to Ivana for responding at a moments notice when we wanted to use the beach chairs and towels. Our bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and we slept great every night. Overall, it was a great stay (especially if you consider the prices of other places just to sleep and shower). The location was central to the airport and activities we wanted to do, so that was a plus. If I could give one recommendation, it would be to have some updates done on the home as some areas were unfinished, stained (bathroom carpet), or out of date. Thank you for the stay and hospitality!

I really enjoyed staying at Christine’s place. It was such a joy to wake up to alpacas grazing in the yard. Christine was super responsive and took the time to introduce me to her animals. The area is beautiful, and I enjoyed early morning walks to Rice Park.

A great place to stay with beautiful interior deco and back yard garden on the island of Maui, right in the centre so that it’s easy to get to either side of the island. The commute time to the OGG airport also makes it a prime spot. The neighbourhood around is also lively and fun to explore. Couldn’t recommend more!

The treehouse bungalow was one of the nicest places we've stayed. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful relaxing view from the lanai, everything you could need for your stay. Close to shopping, local food trucks and lots of activities. I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Maui, and hope to make a return visit and stay here

Long and Saki are terrific, gracious hosts of a very sweet cottage in an absolutely beautiful setting with views of Makena to West Maui to Haleakala. The sunsets are unobstructed and the amenities well beyond the norm with coffee, in season and on site fruit, toiletries, and ocean gear, chairs, umbrellas and towels galore. The South Kihei area is close to great snorkeling sites (love Ahihi-Kinau natural area reserve) and within easy reach of many of the island's wonders. This was our second time staying at Long and Saki's cottage and we are already planning when we can return.
