We had such an amazing time staying at Elda and Jose’s Quinta! It was beautiful and peaceful! We enjoyed our apartment, walking the property, and all of the pets. We had a wonderful time Diogo at our wine tasting and learning about the history of the Quinta and the wine making process. Vasco took us on a half-day wine tour to two different Quintas on another day. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and a pleasure to ride with. We also enjoyed exploring the local area. We ate at every restaurant that was recommended, and every person in our party was completely satisfied. We enjoyed all of the sights, overlooks, museums, etc. I cannot say enough about the wonderful hospitality of the family. We loved our 2 bedroom apartment with a view of the river. It was just what we needed for a few days. The wine and the port were delicious (and they ship to the USA). We are excited to plan a future trip when we can help harvest grapes and make wine!

The space looked exactly like the photos. The view and surrounding area were beautiful. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but saw others doing so and it looked very nice. Checkin instructions were very clear and host was immediately responsive when needed.

We celebrated New Year’s Eve at Jose’s house. Our stay was wonderful! We asked Jose to have a tree and some decorations, and the house was decorated with the beautiful Christmas tree, candles and fresh green tree branches. There were a lot of kitchen supplies. Everything to cook and eat in a big company. Although it was cold in the kitchen, we used the fireplace. All the rooms are equipped with air conditioning. We also enjoyed eating tasty oranges and mandarins. In addition, Jose and Sergio greeted us with the table full of snacks and 2 bottles of their own wine. Great time in the peaceful location! We would like to come back in summer.

Magical location in the Douro Valley. Maria was wonderful, we had everything we needed for a 3 night stay in winter. Can’t wait to come back in warmer months to see the full beauty of the Douro.

Pedro’s place was great - we had a lovely stay and the location was perfect for exploring the Douro Valley, plus only 1.5hrs from Porto airport. Five of us total stayed - one thing to mention is that two of the five bedrooms are downstairs but not connected internally to the main bit of the house. I’m not sure if it was mentioned in the listing description and we just missed it, but it may have changed our preference regarding where to stay. The downstairs rooms were also a bit damp, but that may have been because we stayed in Winter / January. The wifi was great as a few of us worked for a little bit. As the other reviews mention, the driveway is a bit hairy.. other than that, great place, loved the look of the pool (though didn’t get to use as we stayed in winter). Thank you for a lovely stay.

Perfect jumping off point for Douro Valley. The house served our family of 5 well. We had a great experience with the property manager, Beatriz. She was very communicative and even helped us ship home a few items we left behind. Overall a great stay.

Our family of 5 loved Daniela’s place in the Douro Valley hillside. It was what we expected, lots of room for all, great laundry options. The weather wasnt great when we were there in September so didnt really get a chance to enjoy the pool but maybe next time.

A wonderful house to stay in - spotlessly clean and very spacious, with incredible views across the Douro valley. Thomas was a top-notch host, very responsive and helpful. We were really impressed by the multiple balconies(!), extremely well equipped kitchen, and beautiful, modern decor inside. The walk into Mesão Frio is only around 10-15 minutes, and the town has a good supermarket and a number of cafés/restaurants (although we did find that nearly all the restaurants were closed in the first 2 weeks of September, which was unfortunate timing for our visit!) We managed to reach the house from Porto by train, although it isn't particularly easy or quick to get from either of the closest stations to the house. Driving is therefore recommended! Overall, we thought it was a great property with plenty of space for a large group or a couple of families, with all the amenities you could possibly hope for, in a beautiful location! Fantastic value for money too - worth every penny.

Séjour de 2 nuits excellent. Site magnifique, vue exceptionnelle. Emplacement hyper bien placé pour visiter le haut Douro. Hôte très sympathique et accueillant. Un hébergement au top. Je recommande vivement, sans aucune hésitation !!
