Judy and her place are excellent with a great view and just best to near by spots. She is not just a great host but a great chef and tour guide. I want to especially also talk about the great food that she and her team put on the table for the guests. they accomodate to every request you put forward. Amazing experience always book for more than 1 day.

Exactly as described. if you want white linen experience Mqaleni is not for.you, but if you want to experience local culture and authenticity you will love the area.

We enjoyed our stay here while working in Zithulele village. Would recommend bringing one’s own drinking water and to consider a strong vehicle if it’s been raining for the access road.

Remote, peaceful & spectacular views. Worth the walk up the hill! Vuhile, our host, was brilliant. He went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Best experience we have had in the TRANSKEI so far. If you are looking for something special & different a visit to Basecamp Zebra is a must. House had everything one needed. Beds were comfortable & clean, enough towels & space is very well utilized. Great that there are 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets - helps when you are a crowd! The view from the verandah is just breathtaking -no photo can justify the real life experience. Thank you for allowing us to visit this hidden gem on the Wild Coast.

Koleka Ntantiso was a fantastic host, friendly and willing to help. My bakkie didn't fit in the garage but she had another plan where it was safe and sound. For those who are travel throu should definitely make a stop.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage and appreciated William’s help while there. Matt went out of his way to ensure we enjoy our time there. The cottage is well equipped and we had no electricity issues. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved out stay at Protea Ridge. Mark is an exceptional host, he communicated with us regularly before we arrived already when we made enquiries about the signal strength on the property, he regularly informed us of progress made by Vodacom to install a tower that now offers 4G internet in the unit. He went way above and beyond even before we arrived. The actual location is amazing, and makes for a great holiday experience and a fantastic trip. The beaches are beautiful and the entire setting just feels like something that is from a different planet. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. We stayed in the Khaylitsha Unit, and it had absolutely everything you could want for including a deep freeze, and even a full DSTV access which was handy for the kids on a rainy day. Mark would check in with us regularly to ensure that we were enjoying our stay and would continually offer helpful tips and trips in the area to ensure that we got the most out of our stay. The road in was treacherous due to the fact that it had rained for a couple of days and was busy raining as we went in. I would strongly recommend you consider the weather when making your travel arrangements, and that you go with a high clearance vehicle. When it is not raining the roads aren't too bad and the trip could be made with relative ease. On the day that we were supposed to leave, we experienced some heavy rain and Mark was kind enough to extend our stay at no additional cost and EVEN invited us over for an amazing dinner with him and his family when we ran out of food. The hospitality was truly like nothing you've ever seen. Cannot recommend this highly enough, please do yourself a favor and go and have a great experience!

We loved our stay at the cottage! a truly fantastic location, Elmarie and co were great hosts, helpful in every way. The cottage is a well thought out and comfortable space for those who love the outdoors, love to be surrounded by nature, and love to take time to wind down and relax. ps. the dogs added bonus points to our stay.

Wir haben uns in dem spektakulär gelegenen Haus von Helen & Colin sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Der Blick über die Flussmündung ist wirklich ungewöhnlich schön, und das bei jedem Wetter! Wir haben das Kajak für einen Ausflug genutzt und fanden die Tour wunderschön! Überhaupt hat uns die Gelegenheit begeistert, in so einem ursprünglichen und abgelegenen Dorf inmitten der Einheimischen zu wohnen. Ein großes Dankeschön für diese Möglichkeit!
