A really lovely place to stay. Beautifully set up and Sheila had thought of everything. Lots of extra treats and food we did not expect! Girls loved the hot tub. Thank you so much.

Firstly wow! The area in which this little cottage is set is beautiful, tranquil and private and has an enclosed garden for mine and my sister’s dogs. The welcome hamper was the best we’ve ever had with so many goodies in! Lots of local dog walks around the area and hotel grounds and we even found a waterfall after a heavy rainfall which was a lovely surprise. The cottage was clean and all beds made up, towels were provided too. Log fire and wood fired pizza oven and hot tub were so welcome on a foggy day when we were unable to travel. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but not a real problem. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Only negative was only 2 windows open. We loved the fact we were surrounded by nature and birdsong and would have loved to have the windows open to make the most of this. Wouldn’t put us off going again as there are so many other areas we didn’t get to explore around there.

Really lovely place , not the cheapest but worth paying that little extra for the quality of accommodation and in a great location to go and explore so many different places in North Yorkshire. We will definitely go back 👍

Maple cottage fitted our needs perfectly and Caroline and her associates were very friendly and helpful with any requests we made. The hot tub was a welcome relaxation bonus!

The photos don’t do this place justice. It really is beautiful. Quaint, spacious, clean and tidy. Plenty of facilities such as vac, mop, washing machine, dryer, cleaning products etc. Kitchen is a lovely space to all sit together. Bedrooms were very spacious and room for clothes etc. Lovely nights sleep in comfortable beds. Central heating worked a treat with log fire in the room (we didn’t need to use) including other heaters. It is lovely and warm and cosy. The views and surrounding areas are lovely. We used the hot tub which was a lovely addition and worked well been outside the conservatory part. We were a family group of mixed ages and we would absolutely stay here again. Host was great with contact prior to arrival with flexible check in/out. Overall a brilliant stay and we’ve also said we would return.

Just got back from an amazing weekend in Sycamore Lodge. We were a party of 5 and the lodge was perfect. Felt very luxurious, everything was spotlessly clean and the lodge had everything we needed. Hot tub was private and peaceful, and was well maintained. Hot tub comfortably fit everyone. Plenty of parking too. Had a fantastic stay, will definitely be back and will be recommending to family and friends!

Very comfortable w/e in an immaculate and well appointed property. So close to Staithes yet out of the hustle and bustle with views across open countryside. Would definitely rebook.

The pictures of Photographer’s House only hint at what a fantastic home this is to stay in. We loved our stay here. Really spacious but with a cosy feel, thoughtfully decorated and furnished with loads of colour and personality and near to everything while still feeling secluded and peaceful. The weather was sunny but cold for our stay and we enjoyed the brilliant views from the decking and garden, warming up by the fire, takeaways from Cod and Lobster round the upstairs dining table and setting off along the cliff path for the beach. Ashley was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. Learning about his father and feeling we were in a family home really added to the welcoming experience. Highly recommended!

Comfy and homely cottage and very well equipped. Carol was very friendly and knowledgeable and met us with home baked cakes which were delicious. We had a lovely time and felt very much at home. Can also recommend the Community Tea Room right opposite the cottage and the Badger Hounds pub just down the road. Highly recommended cottage and host.

We loved it so much the first time we stayed here, we went back again. It doesn't disappoint. It's location is beautiful and peaceful, yet close to all the fantastic trappings the North Yorkshire Moors are famous for, whether that is a visit to the coast or an Abbey or one of many beautiful historic towns. We will be going back again!

We had a lovely time. It was like a home from home. Emma couldn't do enough for us. The bed was really comfortable and there were plenty of enticing cafes and restaurants in Bishop Auckland.

Chose this location as a base for a short stay, to be close to family for a get together. Perfect in every way for our needs and would highly recommend. There was one tiny issue with a leaking pipe, which did not cause any problems nor did it spoil enjoyment for any of my party. One phonecall and in under thirty minutes the leak was repaired with no fuss or inconvenience. Exceptional service. Thankyou team Hunley!

Lovely location, the view from the window was absolutely amazing over looking the sea. You can walk along the beach into Whitby. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely go back.

Great little cottage in a beautiful village. We knew the place well already. It's a short stroll to a couple of great pubs and restaurants. The place itself was warm, cosy, and quiet. Comfy beds. Would definitely book again.

We stayed at Robin's place for 2 nights and loved it from the first minute we entered the house. The fireplace and cozy living room made our stay. Thank you, Robin. We'll come again in the future :)

A wonderful cottage of the highest standard. The welcome groceries were very much appreciated and saved a dash to the local shop for milk etc. We enjoyed sunny afternoons sitting out in the pretty garden. Tucked away location but with plenty to do on the doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.

We had a lovely week, the house was very clean, well equipped, in a quiet neighbourhood & just a short walk to Thirsk town centre. Communication with Steve & Wendy was excellent and we would definitely here stay again.

A group of us stayed here for a wedding nearby. Geoff and Julie were super friendly and helpful, and we were even able to check in early. The house was perfect for what we needed, beds were comfy and well-stocked kitchen. Would definitely recommend!

What a lovely apartment to stay in Durham! Chris was so nice to meet me there and show me everything with the apartment. The apartment is all new, very comfortable, with a beautiful peaceful setting on the river! He even bought me some food to get me through the mornings. It was so conveniently located to the town. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this apartment!

We were staying up there for my Sons wedding , then we stayed on a little over Christmas to see the children . The Ubers are amazing and I just downloaded the app ‘Uber eats ‘ as well and they can do a shop for you from the Coop ,Sainsbury’s and Tesco and more . Uber travel was very good and reasonable . Area of house is great for Newcastle , Durham or Bernard castle area . Rooms are a good size , beds comfortable. Walking for elderly parents was nice and they increased their fitness immensely , as the fresh air has helped them along with the trips to the countryside which is all around . Very Clean throughout . Comfy sofa and large chair. Great for a family . Garden is enclosed and very safe . Rachel has been a very kind host , and fast to respond to any querys , I would recommend the area and the home , the locals are friendly and there’s a Tesco express which has a bit of everything , in walking distance . Warm and welcoming, banister on stairs plenty of cupboards . A*

Ideal location for us to be able to visit family who have recently moved to the area. Also a great location to visit many local attractions. The house was clean, warm and cosy, and we have enjoyed staying so much we have booked to return in June.
