We had a great time on the Isle of Skye! Marianne gave us a warm welcome and was really helpful, recommending great places to see outside the very famous ones that you can easily find in the guides. She also had good restaurants recommandations! The cabin is wonderful. Very cosy, clean and functionnal. It's also well-placed, it might seem far off on the island but you can get everywhere pretty fast, it's not as big as it seems! We would go there again in a heartbeat if we didn't have to go back home! A quick tip if you're leaving during the night as we did (4 am, we had to be in Edinburgh before noon): be very careful while driving, as the road can get a bit busy with wildlife! Leaving Skye, we "met" a hedgehog, a few hares, and a deer that crossed directly in front of our car, so drive carefully and keep your eyes peeled! Thanks Marianne!

Utterly breathtaking views. A few little houses along the road but you still feel like you’re right on the edge of the world or another planet. Donald and Katy were so friendly and had left some little supplies which were so thoughtful. Loved chatting to them! The place was clean and beautifully comfortable, especially the beds and the hot shower after a long day exploring the islands. Would love to be back one day!

As others have said, this chalet is special! In particular, its location, but also its comfort. If you love peace and quiet, nature and wildlife, you will love it here. Well placed for exploring South Uist, Eriskay and Benbecula, but if the weather isn't good, staying in the chalet looking out of the windows at the birds and seals is great too. Otters didn't appear for us, but they are regularly seen here too. Highly recommended and we would love to return.

A great small cabin for 2 people and ideal for 1. Kitchen has basic needs. Kitchen table has an amazing view of the landscape surrounding the cabin. Very peaceful. You can also sit outside and enjoy the same view and listen to the birds. Bathroom is small but workable with a full shower and lots of hot water. Be careful of the glass shelf by the mirror; I hit the corner twice with my shoulder. Sleeping quarters is great for 1 or 2 people with space for luggage. Paul is just next door and very responsive to your needs. I would certainly return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful little cottage. Like a tardis with a nice roomy, cosy interior. Lots of space for cooking and very well equipped. The cottage has a fascinating history, which we learned from Maria, information in the cottage and a mention in the Kildonian museum, which especially opened for us as it closes for the winter in October. Despite the closure of cafes and tourist sites for the winter, we still managed lots of beautiful walks with magical views, and to shop well for a restorative feast at the end of the day. Also, enjoyed a fanastic evening of Scottish music at the Ceolas centre and a trip to Barra and the cafe in the lovely community gardens there, plus stocking up on seafood at the Barratlantic shop and things to take home at the Buth Bharraigh community shop. A lovely place to stay and a great location.

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Great location - 5 min walk from the co-op, 15 mins walk to the centre of Castlebay. We stayed with our two young kids and their grandparents. Everyone was comfortable, there were appropriately designed bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all ages. The house was warm throughout and features a comfy living room, big dining table - and a bright and welcoming kitchen with a nice, smaller table for breakfast. Definitely hope to stay here again and happily recommend.

We loved the little cabin. It was cosy and the views were amazing. We appreciated the bits and pieces left for us and Elaine was very nice. The shower was excellent and I would 100% recommend.

We were very happy about our choice of cottage; particularly as it is pet friendly. Our hosts were very proactive in terms of communication - it was good to be warned about being well prepared in terms of provisions - no nearby shops! The cottage is wonderfully peaceful which suited us; it was also wonderfully warm - especially the bathroom with its heated floor; this made the cottage an excellent retreat on the one day of bad weather that we had , if necessary the bathroom could have been used as a drying room! We enjoyed the space; properties with just one bedroom can be cramped but as the photos show, there is a table with 4 chairs in the kitchen; the lounge has two sofas and in the bedroom you can easily walk on both sides of the bed. The bedroom has generous storage. The surrounding garden is a delight. Another reason for choosing Blossom Cottage was that it was reasonably close to the Three Chimneys restaurant. There are many excellent walks nearby, some of which we enjoyed.
