We love our stay at the villa. It’s gated and private with direct access to the lake behind the house. On clear days you can see the three volcanoes at the lake. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very peaceful, you can hear birds singing. The interior is beautiful and cozy for the four of us. The house manager Juan is there during the day and took great care of us during our stay. We love that we are just a few steps from the center of the village with a church, market and few local shops. Santa Catalina Palopo is a charming, small, very local village. Just 10-15 mins tuk tuk ride away from Panajachel where you can catch public boat to visit other parts of the lake. We are glad we picked this place as our home base during our visit.

Truly a tranquil oasis. After 2 weeks in another Pueblo on the lake, we treated ourselves to a stay at Casa Valdes. The kids were in heaven in the pool. The kitchen was so well stocked for cooking. Beds incredibly comfortable. Waking up to bird songs out the beautiful windows with breathtaking vistas was heavenly. The walk to the dock to catch a boat ride was easy. Walking up the hill to Santa Cruz was steep but straightforward. Don’t miss a meal at CEPAC in Santa Cruz. The only considerations, which PJ & Stewart outlined very well, is that you must think ahead about meal planning as you are not an easy walk to buy street food easily. Plan to bring provisions (we opted to stock the fridge with fresh tortillas, avocados, lime & salt along with mangos and papayas and were in heaven); make arrangements for Dominga to cook (delicious!) or plan a walk up the hill to CEPAC or a reservation down the dock at iguana perdida. We loved our stay so much!

This is a beautiful and enchanted oasis, tucked away in the mountains. It’s accessible by a 6 minute walk up a dirt path. Therefore, packing lightly with no roller suitcases is advised. The house is beyond beautiful and super clean! It’s in a fully gated location and super safe, with a friendly guard cat. Truly, this place is humming with good energy, a must stay if you're looking for a magical place in nature! Also, luz is very responsive and truly cares about her guests experience. 10/10 recommend!💕

La casa de Mutty es el lugar perfecto para relajarse en familia. La vista al Lago Atitlan y volcanes es asombrosa. El entorno natural crea una ambiente de paz y conexión con la naturaleza. Cada rincon de la propiedad fue aprovechado por mi grupo. Nuestro favorito fue el mirador. Alojamiento perfecto para grupo familiar.

A beautiful stay nestled in the jungle . Julia and her team have gone above and beyond to make this place wonderful. From the beautiful natural decor to the amenities . To the beautiful view seen by the deck and spiral rooftop area . It was a wonderful stay and I will be back soon .

The place was quiet and peaceful while being close enough from Panajachel. Both rooms have a balcony and so is the living room directly across the lake and volcano. The walk to the lake is steep, so I suggest skipping it if you are not well conditioned to climb back up. It gets pretty cold in the morning but there is hot water available in the shower as well as shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Daniel was very responsive and made this trip easier for my group and had immediately gotten us a private shuttle from Antigua and back to the city, as well as a private lancha to take us to any villages we wanted to go. Tour guide is included in San Juan la Laguna. A 4x4 was sent to us daily and the driver Ramiro was also very helpful and responsive. If you book with them, you and your group will be the most important people during this trip.

Un espacio espectacular, con mi familia hablamos que es aún más linda que en las fotos. Lindos detalles, Fabi facilitó la estancia. Definitivamente vamos a volver. Que lindo finde de desconectarse en este maravilloso lugar.

Fue de las mejores experiencias utilizando Airbnb, la casa está ubicada en una zona alejada del caos de la ciudad pero de fácil acceso a rutas importantes de salida o zonas comerciales. La casa estaba impecable, ambientada con un gusto exquisito que era evidente en los detalles. Las camas eran súper cómodas, que a pesar del largo viaje nos permitieron descansar plácidamente. Además, las habitaciones cuentan con excelentes espacios de almacenamiento. Los baños amplios, limpios y te ofrecen shampoo y jabón de ducha con un delicioso aroma, cantidad de toallas adecuadas para cada habitación. La cocina perfectamente ordenada, es amplia con todo lo necesario para preparar la comida, hay un ecofiltro, con lo cual te ahorras de tener que cargar con agua, hay cafetera y una refrigeradora amplia...además fueron muy amables en dejarnos comida de cortesía, lo cual nos vino de maravilla. Genuinamente, ! recomiendo mucho esta estancia!

This is a beautiful home. Well furnished with fresh quality linens, dishware and stainless steel cookware. No expense was spared! A true gem! We even ate kale and mulberries from the gorgeous big well maintained garden. So many different kinds of flowers in bloom at the same time! Its a real wow! What a priviledge it was to stay there. Very private, full of humming birds! It was spotless! The best airbnb I have ever stayed in! The town is quiet and clean. The volcano views framed by the gardens from the property are breath taking. We will be back next year for sure! thanks for such a lovely stay!

Truly stunning home in an idyllic landscape. I love the raw connection to nature and expansive views of the lake. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive - a wonderful stay overall. Would recommend to others ands stay here again!

Une des meilleures expériences Airbnb de notre vie. Le logement était encore mieux que la description et les photos pouvaient le laisser croire. La vue est incroyable. La terrasse est immense et bien aménagée. Nous y avons passé une grande part de notre temps. La cuisine est bien équipée et fonctionnelle. Il y a aussi des sentiers de randonnée qui longent le lac de chaque côté et qui permettent de se rendre aux villages voisins. Notre seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu y passer plus de temps! Merci pour tout.

This place was absolutely amazing. The views are incredible and totally worth the hike up to them. It was really nice being able to have someone deliver food to the house if you don’t want to hike down for the day. This was the coolest air bnb I have ever stayed in and I will definitely stay here again if I’m back in Guatemala. We had the most relaxing time here looking out onto the lake.

Incredible place. The access to the main path around the lake and proximity to Santa Cruz is nice. There are more places to eat around here than I expected. I would love to stay here again. Do keep in mind: Santa Cruz is a very nature-y place and there is a possibility you’ll encounter spiders, mosquitoes and scorpions. We did, but had no problems with them during our stay.

Very cute oasis! We loved relaxing in the garden with coffee and breakfast. The location was great- super walkable to shops and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Wow! What a magical place to stay while visiting San Marcos. As many have mentioned, the views are phenomenal. The setup of the place balancing open air and cozy indoors does truly feel like a glamorous tree house. I'll never forget my showers overlooking the lake, and being awoken by the most gorgeous sunrises peeking in trough the windows. The community surrounding the house was lovely. The kitchen had everything I needed to make some good meals, and the bed was so comfortable I did not want to get up most mornings. This is THE place to book while here. Just be aware it is a bit of a steep incline walk so if you struggle with that you can take a tuk tuk up to the property. I walked everyday and found it to be excellent exercise to get my day going. Truly one of my favorite airbnb experiences.
