Tranquille, entre 30 et 50 min des activités (Arenal, eaux chaudes, tours de paresseux, nuits, etc.). Lespace exterieur faisait notre bonheur de jour comme de soir, bien à l'abri de la pluie. Jorge, le voisin qui s'occupait de nous (principale communication, questions au jour le jour, où/quand/comment acheter des fruits) était génial. Il ne communique qu'en espagnole, il est très généreux. La maison est grande et les lits sont confortables. L'air climatisée fonctionnait dans les chambres. La cuisine dehors était vraiment appréciée. Bien que nous ne pouvions pas l'utiliser la moitié du temps que nous y étions, la piscine était bien, le sauna ne fonctionnait pas pendant notre séjour. Un coq et plusieurs poules venaient sur notre terrain au plaisir des enfants.

We loved Carolina's property! The home was perfect for our family of ten ranging in age from 3 to 73. It was clean and beautiful. Manuel stopped by the first day and offered us a "night tour". He was fun and informative, especially with our children, explaining the "creatures" and encouraging us all to relax and listen to the night sounds. The hot tub on the back deck was a hit and well enjoyed. It was very quiet around us and we felt safe at all times. Carolina was very prompt answering any questions that we had. We had a lot of adventures planned but wished we had included an extra day just to enjoy the property. We highly recommend.

This was property matched the description and the pictures well. El Castillo is a more peaceful area than La Fortuna and close enough to feel like you can go back and forth without any issue. The view from the porch hot tub is stunning and makes up for the rustic amenities within the cabin. There was daily construction starting at 6:00am on the house next-door, however, so I probably would not have chosen this property if I had known that before-hand.

Solo tenemos dos observaciones sobre la estadía, el baño del segundo piso emitía un fuerte olor por alguna razón, y la otra observación es que la ducha del primer piso no tiene agua caliente, normalmente no sería un problema si no es porque íbamos con una bebé y bañarla con agua fría no siempre es lo mejor. La estadía fue espectacular!! Me encantó que había café de calidad, utensilios y electrodomésticos en perfecto estado y funcionales. La cama en perfecto estado y el sofá cama también bastante cómodo. Súper bien equipada la casita con una vista impresionante y con todos los servicios, agua, luz e internet de alta calidad. Refrigerador con gran espacio para varios días y el contacto con la naturaleza y tranquilidad es de primera mano.

Un lugar muy bonito y agradable. Excelente para descansar y conectar con la naturaleza, sin duda, volvería a ir. Me encantó.

A very interesting location. Pleasant farm trails leading to a campground with breathtaking views. Probably would be better to have a futon downstairs to sit and watch TV and then turn into a bed for the evening. Kenneth was very friendly and left us coconuts in the refrigerator and fruit on the counter.

José and Laudelino were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The place is ideally located—close to town but still quiet and peaceful. Don’t miss their fantastic horse tour for a unique local experience! Highly recommend, and we’d love to return. Thank you both!

great place to stay, feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. We did alot of bird watching from the cabin, awesome species. Eric is super friendly and responsive. He picked us up from the cabin for the nighttour very friendly. there is a great hike behind the house (be careful not to get lost or get bitten) it really feels like out in the wild. airco is lovely in the bedroom. if i had to find something to improve it would be that the neighbour can be noisy with the weedwacker (hope its only temporary).

Second time staying at this place. What was new was the swimming pool, housed in its own glassed-in building. For an amateur birder, it is a lovely property to explore with binoculars. Hosts are very kind. I hope to return there at a future date.

House is on a dairy farm, cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking, thank you very much. You do need to buy your food before you go since it is a little remote. There is someone working in the middle of the night next to the house and that might bother you if you are a light sleeper. One of the bathroom does not have hot water at the time and it seems common that kitchen does not have hot water. We are ok since there is another bathroom has warm enough water for shower.

We had an amazing stay at this property! Right in the middle of nature and very private! The views were truly amazing and beautiful birds to be seen every morning! The open air concept was so neat and we sat outside every morning to watch the sun rise! Not far into town to La Fortuna! The only thing I would say for families is that the kitchen is very tiny and not really set up to cook meals. Other than that it was a great stay and we would definitely return!

Since the day we booked with Kees he initiated communications with some information needed prior to our arrival. It was very easy to find the place, even without Kees's detailed information. Upon our arrival, Kees personally greeted us which was truly refreshing since we live in the days of self check-ins. For a small fee Monte Terras BnB offers every day home cooked breakfast, which we gladly accepted. Kees makes the best Duch pancakes this side of the Arctic circle! We arrived in the evening so when we woke up next day, we were treated with a beautiful garden in front of our cabin full of life. Just a few steps in, you will find a sloth, porcupine and quite a few tucans. The cabin was very clean with all the amenities you may need. You can find local grocery stores and restaurants in the village of Tronadora that are within a walking distance. We arrived as strangers but Kees and his wife Gris, with their warm welcoming, made us friends. We will certainly come back! Pura Vida!

The backyard was spectacular, the creek runs behind the property and has a private access to the creek. You could hear the water, so peaceful. I wish I stayed longer. It's away from the town and we loved that.

Hosts were great and super responsive to our last-minute late night check-in. It helps to have Waze to find it, especially in the dark as it doesn’t map properly by Google Maps. Super friendly and great for the price!!

This place was very nice, clean, and spacious for our family of five. It had the most beautiful view any of us had ever seen which was one of the highlights of our trip. The property is very nice and private with a great pool area. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend!

The house was beautiful and peaceful, with a short trail, going down out into a lush, wooded area. Some highlights were the mot mot, that welcomed us in our yard on our first day, the toucans, that greeted us, each morning in the canopy, the single hammocks for lots of outdoor R&R, and the large picture windows, that enabled us to view the wildlife, before even making it out the door. The kitchen was large, and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of common space, to hang out. Angel was kind, warm and welcoming. We appreciated his attentiveness and quick responses to any questions we had. The price was very reasonable. An overall fantastic stay. Thanks so much!!

Villa Tres is wonderful. The views are spectacular, the house is clean and modern, and the heated pool is tremendous. I highly recommend this house, and we’re looking forward to returning.

La casa tiene una vista espectacular. Es muy comoda y esta muy bien equipada. La disfrutamos mucho... Solo tuvimos un inconveniente con el desagote tapado de la pileta de la cocina, que imagino lo van a solucionar antes que lleguen los proximos huespedes.

Beautiful little casita and a great place to stay while visiting Monteverde. The wifi was spotty at times, but I think they were having that looked into. Graciela is a gem!

We had the pleasure of staying at this home during our trip to Costa Rica. It was absolutely perfect for us. We loved the views from the home, the sounds of the birds, seeing a few animals and the trail that we walked each morning. Home is right outside of the Preserve entrances. Federico is a great host. He shared the history of the home and Monteverde which made the stay more memorable.

Aurora and Luis, Were fantastic host. The place was as described with a little more than meets the eye. Great porch under the trees to watch different birds in the mornings. Aurora and Luis are both guides and provided great recommendations for night walk. Luis guided the night walk for us where we saw frogs, green toucans, a snake, other birds , tarantulas and insects. The accommodations as described and it was nice to know that their family owned, lived in an house on the property, and operated the accommodations. Very great folks and we enjoyed our time. I’ve stayed in dozens of airbnb’s all over the world, and this house is easily one of my favorites. I wish I could take it with me haha. It’s super spacious, impeccably clean and it just has everything you could need. They thought of it all. You get solid Wi-Fi if you’re working remotely like me. Hot water in the faucets - that’s straight up luxury for Costa Rica. The outside yard is perfect to hang out and play in if you have kids. Centrally located for everything you could want to do in Monteverde. Angel is a super-host through and through. If it’s available, book it!
