We really liked the accommodation and totally recommend it! Our room was modern and comfortable, we loved spending time in the huge and very well equipped kitchen and also the common room on the 3F was amazing. The hosts gave us an introduction of the area and lots of tips where to go. We had a sink in our room, the shower and toilet were ouside and shared with other guests, there was even a washing machine which was free to use. The only downside is because of the thin walls the whole house is a bit noisy.

Was a great experience staying in a traditional guesthouse. The hosts were lovely, cafe was great, and our room was clean, tidy and full of character. Shared facilities (kitchen, toilets, showers) were all very basic and old but were clean enough and did the job. Definitely worth the compromise to experience staying a few nights in a traditional Japanese room! We arrived 15 mins early and were told we had to wait to check-in. Not a major issue as we just sat in the cafe and had a coffee but seemed a little unnecessary as the room was clearly ready (and we were clearly exhausted!) Thanks Team Gojo!

It's an amazing accommodation that's also very comfortable! You will learn more about the good restaurants (including bakeries) and also must-see/experience of the surrounding area during the onboarding session 😁 The wall and floor is a bit thin (which I heard is common in japanese style housing) so if you're a light sleeper, it might be an issue (but I sleep like a log so personally it didn't matter to me😬) There's also a shared space on the first floor (kitchen) and 3rd floor (kinda like a library? unfortunately I didn't get to spend time to look around when I stayed though) Thank you Nana, Yusuke, and everyone at the Expo Cottage & Hostel 😁

Excellent séjour, les hôtes sont adorables, très accueillant et vous aiderons si vous avez des questions, des activités à faire ou des adresses à trouver. La chambre est super également !

Pasamos una estancia breve pero agradable y acogedora. El alojamiento cuenta con los servicios que indica en el anuncio y hay buenos restaurantes y comercios alrededor. La señora de la casa muy amable. Muchas gracias.

Wonderful place to stay in Kyoto! The hosts made sure to provide us the warmest welcome by explaining us the area and giving us recommendations. Their kindness has been outstanding. The room is very private (you can lock the door) and beautiful! We loved the morning sun light and the warm colors of the room! We will recommend this place to everyone who wants to visit Kyoto!

Buen alojamiento en líneas generales. Ubicado no muy lejos de la estación central. Fue fácil de encontrar y el tener baño y espacio compartido no significó ningún problema. Notamos cierta suciedad en el cuarto, pero nada con lo que alarmarse. Experiencia aceptable

The space was very clean and the location was so convenient! We were surprised that the beds were very comfortable. Very satisfied with our stay :)

Emiko et sa famille sont adorables, bienveillants, à l’écoute, plein de bons conseils et astuces. La chambre est bien agencée et tout confort. Ce fut un réel plaisir de résider chez eux.

The location of Unknown Kyoto is excellent. It’s nice to see staff welcome us at the receptionist desk. Super easy to check in. Very large kitchen, dining area, and spacious living room is value added. Price is very reasonable, we will definitely come back.

My favorite stay in Japan so far. Real traditional sleeping in a gorgeous guesthouse. The communal areas are very cozy, and surrounding area is very walkable! Absolutely recommend!

Great accommodation, large room, comfortable bed. Very clean, not far from a 7 eleven, and 10 minutes walk from tokyo station. Would recommend

房间非常大，我们7大3小差不多人均一个房！房间无异味。主要洗手间 浴室真的多！3个淋浴设施4个马桶，对于多家庭来说，这个真的太友好了。

Very convenient location near to Kyoto station and a short walk from the beautiful streets of Kyoto. Clean and exactly what we needed as a base for our time.

One of the best hostel I've stayed. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. The owner is helpful and even let me check in earlier than the checkin time. If I visit Kyoto again, I'll definitely book this hostel. 💖

Si c'est votre première fois dans une hostel vous allez être ravi. Ici tout est pensé pour le confort des hôtes c'est simple et délicat à la fois, ça sent bon , les espaces sont confortables et sympathiques. Comment optimiser l'espace pour en faire un nid confortable et accueillant. L'espace cuisine est pratique et chaleureux. Masa san est tout ce que l'on peut espérer d'un hôte, il est aux petits soins pour nous. PS :Pour les amoureux de l'art et les jours pluvieux il y a dans la bibliothèque une belle collection sur les grands peintres européens. Bref je recommande sans aucune hésitation. Si c'est votre première fois en hostel la barre est haute pour les prochaines.

En visite de Kyoto sur le weekend, cette auberge de jeunesse était parfaite, accessible à pieds depuis le centre ville et au calme! Bel espace pour se détendre en bas et l'accueil est très chaleureux, je recommande!

개별난방인 점이 가장 좋았습니다. 따뜻했어요ㅎㅎ 대신 건조해지니까 바디로션, 토너팩 필수! 수건 매일 교체해주셔서 적셔서 널어놓고 잤어요👍 체크인도, 메세지도 엄청 친절하십니다. 저렴하게 혼자 너무 잘 지내서 다음에 꼭 다시 이용하고싶어요:D

The hostel is very neat and clean. Pods are spacious and good enough for one person. The staff were friendly. The location is very good. The shower will be closed for cleaning between 10AM to 3PM. I anyway used to have shower in the night. Overall , im happy with my stay.

I stayed one night here and it was exactly what I expected and the way it is described in the listing. I was happy w my stay. Most notable was the very kind, open, friendly, helpful staff. The evening and morning I was there, the vibe seemed very light and nice—guests and staff alike.

Really friendly host and comfy bed. Maybe bring earplugs though cause the beds make sound if you're below someone stirring around it's hard to sleep.Also some rude people banging on the stairs and playing their videos out loud but that's not the Airbnb fault. I just was too shy to tell them to be quiet haha
