Really great spot, with stunning views of the dam and surrounding area, host was very flexible and the outside area was very well equipped for a great time with family and friends

We had a wonderful stay and the hot tub was an absolute hit!! The open shower and toilet took some getting used to :). We loved the space and will def go back.

We travelled from accommodation in the Cape wine lands and were set to arrive at 14:00 (the usual check in time). We double checked the booking and saw check in was only after 15:00. We contacted the host early that morning to see if earlier check in would be ok and were told “you’re welcome” a couple of hours later. However, when we arrived, the reception had not been informed about our early arrival and we had to wait for quite a while in the backpackers area where there’s nothing to do. Not a major issue, but communication between the host and reception would have avoided us arriving early and having to sit around counting rocks. Once we booked in and got the hot tub going, everything was simply amazing. The unit is well-stocked and everything you need is available. The unit was clean, free of bugs (even though it’s surrounded by bush), and very comfortable. The staff at the reception area and shop are friendly and helpful.

Lez is the friendliest, loveliest host on the planet ! I kid you not. She gave a very warm welcome and a lovely cold drink, went down a treat after a long hot drive. Lez knows the area well & gave us so much info on what there is to do near their lovely home, but also further afield. Easy drive to the Cederberg Wilderness. The terrace is a bonus, to watch the sunset from over the mountains, then star gazing in the biggest skies. The pool is a luxury too. Kitchen is fully equipped. Everything here for that break away from the rat race. Highly recommend this property. Thank you Lez for the most memorable place we stayed on our trip around your beautiful country.

We spent our Anniversary there, the waterfall was incredible, we swam in the dam, went back to our cosy cottage, got into the hotub with some champers, looked up at the milky way, counted satellites and had the most unforgettable and romantic wedding anniversary. We will definitely go back. Thank you to the hosts for an incredible experience, what a beautiful location.

Amazing place in a peaceful location with super helpful and attentive staff. A definite plus is the ability to do star gazing while at the same time relaxing in a hot tub. Really doesn’t get any better than that

was only a brief stopover since we were on a long trip but was perfect for our needs and we'd like to come back with some more time. Salome is a great host and the cottage was perfectly equiped and comfortable.

An absolute gem. I have not experienced heat like that, but our private plunge pool and the farm dam were an absolute dream. We had such a wonderful time taking in the beautiful views and incredible stars.

Lovely peaceful Easter Weekend. Peace and quiet with a lovely view. It gave a Weskus getaway vibe & that is what I wanted. Lovely walking trail nearby, and enjoyed the train going by every so often. Something different as I’m a city girl and always seek a little seclusion. My family and I will more than likely visit again 🙌

Very spacious accommodations and convenient location to anything in Clanwilliam. About 20-30 min to the bouldering/Cederberg area. Host/manager were easy to get in contact with and helpful with any issues. The front bedroom is noisy, with street noise and dogs barking, but the back bedroom is quieter. Unit 8 did not have a desk upstairs as pictured on AirBnB; only working area is the dining room. Loadshedding (scheduled blackouts) is a thing to be aware of in South Africa-- you may be without electricity 2 to 8 hours a day. The house wifi does have battery backup, which was great, and the stove is propane, so you can still cook during loadshedding. There is daily housekeeping provided (and required). Host provides 20kw hours of electricity a day; if you go over, you have to buy your own electricity. We didn't have any trouble staying under the 20 unit allotment. It is cold in the house during the winter, so prepare to bundle up inside! They provide electric blankets which were great.

We really enjoyed our stay and Lois even accommodated our 2 cats. Everything was clean and all essentials were provided in the kitchen, including a gas stove. There's a beautiful garden with lots of bird visitors, and the surrounds are very quiet. Lois responded to any messages within a few minutes, and we were all impressed with her hosting.

We spent a very lovely week over Christmas here and it was the perfect secluded escape for us. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery we were able to completely disconnect. We loved our sunrise swims in the rock pools and braaing in the evening while listening to all the nature around us.

If tranquility was a place…… Our stay at House Kuru was exceptional. Comfy, clean beds and a clean unit, nature at your doorstep. The aircon was a life saver and the outside shower an absolute treat! The surroundings are breathtaking and the many hiking and swimming opportunities at your doorstep are amazing. Matthys is very responsive and his team is lovely. Receptionist was super friendly at check. There’s a little store with some goodies if you happen to forget something. We’ll definitely be back!

I will recommend this accommodation to anybody. Everything is excellent. Location is perfect in the mountains.

Great location! The pictures are a small glimpse of what you can expect from the views. The hosts are very friendly and communicative. The house is fairly well stocked with kitchen utensils and crockery (if you'd like to do some cooking).

After spending time in some remote locations, Tarantula Guesthouse was the perfect soft landing. The house is incredibly spacious, kept wonderfully cool in the heat, and felt like a true home away from home. We loved the lovely braai area and the pool, which were a hit for both us and our kids. The property is very private from the other cottages, which made it even more relaxing. The full kitchen and access to all DSTV channels added to the convenience, allowing us to unwind completely. We enjoyed our stay so much that we even requested a late check-out because we didn’t want to leave! Hendrina was exceptionally kind, and communication was seamless from start to finish. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back. Looking forward to staying here again!

We had a truly lovely stay Surrounding cedarberg , clanwilliam & citrusdal are in easy reach The cottage is well positioned , quiet & private . We enjoyed the rustic Stoep and loved to cool down in the private pool Thank you for all your hints on MTB routes .

It took us long to get there from Muizenberg but it was so worth it! The cabin was quaint and clean. We took our two dogs with and they were welcomed and we had a fence to keep them in. The property is beautiful with incredible walks/hikes. There are also a lot of options for swimming which is great in that heat! The hosts were also very welcoming. Thanks and we'll hopefully be back soon!

A fabulous spot overlooking the Clanwilliam dam, offering superb sunsets and tranquility. We stayed in the lovely Lakeview house which is nice and spacious with private pool and with an outdoor braai under a big shady tree, which is just fantastic at sunset.

A lovely room. We had a good recommendation for a place to eat. A good place for a stop over.
