After a short time getting oriented and realizing there were no locks on doors (be sure to bring a small padlock if that’s a concern), we fell deep into the slow and restive rhythm of the place. Beyond charming with simple details to match the back-to-basics decor. Top it off with a private beach on the vlei, cozy hot tub, outdoor shower and a very comfortable bed, and what more could you ask for?

J’ai passé un excellent séjour dans ce logement ! L’appartement était impeccablement propre, décoré avec goût et extrêmement bien équipé. Le lit était très confortable, et j’ai adoré les petites attentions laissées par l’hôte à notre arrivée.

We had a wonderful stay in the old farm house and really enjoyed exploring the surroundings of the farm, hiking and taking the kayaks out on the lake. The dogs were als so sweet and friendly and the entire vibe at the farm is so relaxed and peaceful.

Great location! The pictures are a small glimpse of what you can expect from the views. The hosts are very friendly and communicative. The house is fairly well stocked with kitchen utensils and crockery (if you'd like to do some cooking).

Fantastic location, stunning house with great potential. Minor issues but can be overlooked. Definitely recommended

Lefras und Marijke sind sehr herzliche und freundliche Gastgeber und hatten tolle Tips für die Umgebung für uns . Die Küche ist super ausgestattet und es gibt einen Grill . Die Wohnung ist wunderschön gelegen um die Ruhe zu genießen und gleichzeitig nah an Aktivitäten und Restaurants. Es gibt einen privaten See/Damn fußläufig (5 min) vom Haus. Hier kann man schwimmen und Kanu fahren. Definitiv empfehlenswert. Alles die Fahrt von über den Bergpass bis zum Haus ist atemberaubend.

We had a wonderfull stay at Hope's place. The place is very cozy with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautifully decorared, neat and clean with everything we needed. Even the wood for braai was supplied. The welcoming gift of natural honey, olive oil and apple cider vinager was very special. They were also flexible and let us stay for only 2 nights after my request. I will definitly recommend this place if you want to find some peace, quiet and rest in the middle of no where.

If you want to take a deep breath, this is the place to go! Mountains, trees, horses, springbuck and lots of birds. It is so quiet and peaceful. Every morning we watched the sunrise from the long stoep, then went for long walks, ending at the dam with a swim. Books, puzzles, games, more swims and many naps later it was time to make a fire. The house is simple but beautiful with great touches like 2 bathrooms, stable doors, masses of dry fire wood, a generous mosquito net around the bed, lots of seating on the long covered verandah. Thank you, Hope, this place touched my farm girl heart.

Elands Bay itself is very quiet with not much to do but was just what we wanted. The house is completely on its own just outside Elands Bay and is very peaceful. Its nice and roomy with 2 bedrooms and very nice modern bathrooms, the main bed is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need for self catering and there is a very nice braai room. There is a pool but we didn't use it but would be great for a family holiday with a small trampoline and play gym in the garden too. We really enjoyed our stay here. One thing to note if you come back home in the dark, is to have a torch with you to open the gates into the property as there is no lighting.

An absolute gem. I have not experienced heat like that, but our private plunge pool and the farm dam were an absolute dream. We had such a wonderful time taking in the beautiful views and incredible stars.

My boyfriend, our 3 dogs and I stayed for my birthday weekend. The cottages are perfect, the bed is super comfy, the day bed outside the kitchen is the perfect chill spot. The donkey shower is easy to get going and gives you an amazing hot shower. Loved the little details, body scrub in the shower, cute pot of honey in the kitchen. The view is gorgeous and we even got to see a lightning storm in the valley below the cottage. You could probably hike the whole farm over a week, so many great trails to walk and run. The dam was a bonus on a hot day after a hike. The host Hope was lovely and very responsive. Would also be an epic winter getaway spot, I would have loved to get the indoor fires going. Loads of wildlife on the farm, heard baboons in the distance on the mountain, saw various bokkies, zebra & horses. Perfect place for ours dogs to roam around, they're completely exhausted. I can't fault the place, it's wonderful and I would 10/10 stay again
