Very much enjoyed my stay at Royal Astoria. We were welcomed by the host as we arrived and we were very much looked after during our stay. Nagendra was also very accommodating and patient as our plans had changed last minute. The listing description is accurate, the hotel + rooms were cosy and very clean. The hotel location is a little difficult to find as it's off the main road, so make sure your driver/taxi knows where they are going. Aside from that I don't have a bad word to say about my stay here.

Wonderful quiet location close to the lake. Cottage was perfect, staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend as this is one of the best places I’ve stayed in.

Definitely worth it. Perfect location, a few min walk to central Thamel so that the noise there won’t disturb as much. Welcome drinks were offered and the staff delivered our heavy bags to our room. The room was very clean and comfy. Breakfast offered by the restaurant downstairs was by far the best we’ve had in kathmandu with the best price! Everything turned out to be more than expected!

We had a lovely stay The place is located in a prime location and tourist attractions like Thamel are at walking distance. The stay was comfortable and cozy with attractive interiors and a cute terrace from where you can have a hill view. The complimentary breakfasts were delicious and homely as well. The host was especially kind and accommodating at all times, and made us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our time there.

We had an amazing stay and wished we could have stayed for longer. Riken is a great host and made our stay very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Lalitpur or Kathmandu in general, and as it’s in a quiet courtyard off the main road, we had a peaceful sleep in a comfortable bed. They have a good restaurant downstairs where they grow their own herbs and have live music on weekends. Fully recommend!

We had a short but pleasant stay at this lovely heritage hotel. Liked that the host has thoughtfully curated the interiors with mood lighting, cultural artifacts in the common areas & the room with a keen eye for detail.. from an interior design & decor point of view it's quite admirable. Staff was friendly & helpful. Room matches the description & a good location being close to all the Thamel hot spots & shopping. Would definitely recommend to other guests visiting Kathmandu & wanting to stay in the Thamel neighborhood.

This was my second long stay at Yalamul Garden, and I confirm that the hotel is a true gem! My room was amazingly spacious, spotless, quiet and bright, with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. Everyone in the staff - from Riken to the guys at the reception and at the bar and the housekeepers - is super kind and friendly, and they always do that extra bit that makes you feel comfortable and at home. The garden is a great place to stay, work or relax, and the food is delicious. Overall, Yalamul Garden is a fabulous place to stay, and I look forward to staying again next time I am back in Nepal.

Of all the AirBnBs we’ve stayed in, this boutique hotel clearly stands out the most for its warmth, friendliness, and hospitality. To add to that: The always-perfect, simple yet profound Nepali food (The best potatoes you’d ever have, Mustang Aloo. The best sweet yoghurt you’d ever have, Juju Dhau. The list goes on.) The improvisational magic of Jazz (the host has a lovely band) practice sessions taking place in the background. Not to mention the right-outside-the-door access to Patan’s medieval Newar grandeur and lively streets. This was our first ever visit to Nepal and we just cannot wait to go back. Thanks to our host, Riken, and the most amazing, kindest team (Kunal, Temba, Amit, and every single member of the staff) for making it so.

Rahul’s location offered an incredible stay for my friend and I. We were greeted very warmly right away. The accommodations were comfortable. He also sent us local recommendations, contact phone numbers, etc from the beginning. It was extremely smooth and I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s visiting Kathmandu for the first time.

We had a great time staying at Rahul's. Rahul was easy to communicate with and gave us all the instructions we needed. The rooms and hotel were decorated beautifully, there was so much art to admire. The room was extremely clean and the private balcony was awesome! Check in and out was easy, and staff were very kind and friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, especially the cappuccinos. I also thought the area we were in was great, we walked every night to dinner and back and there were multiple guards along the road, we felt extremely safe.

Stay at Rahuls was exceptional, the only problem was not long enough. Rahul has pored his heart and soul into renovating this house. It feeling extremely luxurious and like a home not a hotel, with the luxury’s of a hotel. I was given a delicious welcome drink of watermelon juice on arrival. The bed is so comfortable and has luxurious linens and beautiful aesthetic’s. The place feels privet and warm. I was able to enjoy the rooftop yoga space to undertake my daily routine and there is a lovely cafe in the courtyard downstairs within the property. I will most definitely be returning and highly recommended and encourage anyone wanting to spend time in Thamel to check it out. Location is perfect and calm with all the action 2-3mins walk away. Es war rundherum wunderbar. Es gibt sehr unterschiedliche Räume. Unser ist sehr zu empfehlen, direkt über dem Restaurant mit nem Hammer Blick. :-) sehr gutes preis Leistungsverhältnis Und die Menschen vorort waren sehr toll. weiter so und nochmal vielen Dank nach Nepal

We had a great stay! The room was simple but stylish and very clean. The shower was beautifully hot which made it more comfortable as Nepal can be a little cold at the end of January. We also noticed that they offer extra heaters for a small fee which is a great idea as a lot of hotels in Nepal don't... will be coming back!

Lee’s place is a great hotel on the main Lakeside road. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Lee is always around to ask questions for help and suggestions. The restaurant on great floor is awesome! There is also a spa. We will stay again!

We were welcomed by Krishna and his family and instantly felt at home. Krishna explained us all the possibilities in regards to jungle walks and other outdoor activities and we decided to go with him for a jungle walk that started early in the morning. His wife prepared us delicious meals for our journey and since Krishna had 22 years of experience as a guide you can count on some amazing stories and new cool insights about the wildlife in Nepal. Since we were traveling by car from Nepal to India, Krishna was very thoughtful and helpful with any questions or requests we’ve had in regards to border crossing and money exchanging for example. Dont be fooled by other resorts in the area that might look more fancy, Krishna’s place is the place to be! Dont hesitate to have some Chai or a beer with him and his family back at the resort and be sure to ask him about his adventures from back in the day, Nepalese culture and football od course. Thank you so much Krishna, we had 3 beautiful days!
