We used Johanna’s place as an overnight stop on our way home. Beautiful space. Nicely appointed. Great location. And honestly our best night’s sleep of our entire 15 day trip. Comfy bed, dark room. Johanna was friendly and responsive. Great doggie host, complete with blankets, treats and water bowl. Place was clean and comfortable.

This was a great location for our family of 7. There were enough beds, good amenities, and it was a great location to get down to the Connecticut River. It was centrally located and we were able to explore many cities in CT due to the location. The hosts were extremely responsive and the home was well-maintained.

Lovely spot on a creek with easy (walkable) access to beach, marina and walking trails. Creek is tidal so it’s not useable during low tide, but beautiful. It’s buggy as you’d expect in an area like that. Shops and restaurants aren’t far away - super convenient grocery store, liquor store, etc. Kitchen is nicely set up and fairly well appointed with the basics. Furnishings are comfortable and there’s plenty of space. We were a party of five adults and never felt cramped. Outdoor space is really nice and we enjoyed the fire pit. Host Angela was responsive and helpful. I was grateful for clear instructions for checking in and checking out.

Sim was great and very responsive. The house was missing a few utensils when we got there. I texted Sim and a few hours later, they arrived at our doorstep! When I didn't know how to start the fireplace, she immediately sent me a video showing me how. Worked perfectly. This was a big birthday for me and a gathering of all my close friends. The house was perfect for this. A big shout out to Sim!

We needed a comfortable road trip stop with laundry, so this worked well for us. Just a little away from town on a quiet street. The beds were VERY firm, but we still slept fine, so if you need a soft bed you should be aware. Good stay overall!

Fun location. My husband saw a deer and her fawn one morning on the back deck! Everything was as listed. Just be aware, they have crystal pieces as decor. They are up on shelves, but if you have curious kids (mine!) they might be tempted to touch them. It wasn't a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, a great stay!

Barbara was an excellent host, very accommodating to our needs particularly with check-in time. Her home was the perfect place for our traveling family members to stay to attend our son's wedding. Very clean with all the amenities as described. Although my family members spent the majority of their time at my house to attend all the weekend wedding festivities, they were very comfortable and enjoyed their stay at Barbara's house . Thank you so much Barbara for sharing your home with us!

Alex’s place was very comfy and clean. He was helpful, and offered to recommend local places. The bathroom and linens were clean and updated.

Ricardo’s place was truly incredible. It’s such a cozy, clean and convenient spot located in a very good area. Had everything you need and have a very home-like feel. I was visiting my girlfriend for our anniversary and the weather wasn’t the greatest outside but that didn’t bother us one bit. We were comfortable cooking and eating at home and we had everything to make that happen. Ricardo and his wife were so kind and flexible with us. We would love to come back in the summertime and fully enjoy their spot again because there are great views in the backyard by the water. Well worth the price of admission. Thank you Ricardo and family. We will definitely be back if you’ll have us! Cheers 🥂

Kimberly was a wonderful host. She promptly answered any questions we had concerning the reservation. She made sure our stay was comfortable. She even went above beyond by leaving complimentary snacks.

My husband and I spent a lovely week at Pinar’s apartment over the Christmas holiday. The apartment is very modern and clean. The radiant heat kept it quite comfortable and I loved the view from the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. Lots of bird activity in the mornings!

Was the perfect little get away for us. And it was nice to find a place that accommodated the dogs so well. We appreciated being able to get to places easily but at the same time have a peaceful place to return to.

Had a really wonderful time here for my friends’ trip. Kimberly was a communicative and amazing host, and the cottage was clean and well-stocked. The location is also perfect if you are hoping to enjoy some peace and relaxation, with nearby parks and trails available for exploration.

What a great, cozy stay! Booked this place last minute and I’m so glad we did. Tucked away, but close to a movie theatre and restaurants! Host was responsive when we had questions and overall a 10/10 stay.

Kathy & Richie's cottage was so charming and comfortable and homey. It was the perfect spot for my cousin Rachel and I to stay while we visited some wineries nearby in Wallingford on the CT Wine Trail. We loved watching the boats and fishermen on the water and the sunrise. Kathy had some great recommendations for dining out and we absolutely loved the food and drinks at the Blackbird Tavern down the road. There is a lot more to do in the area which we didn't have time for this trip, but it gives us a great reason to return and stay at Anchor's Away again! I got to meet Richie in person and he was delightful. I hope to meet Kathy next time. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Exactly as described! Definitely a glamping experience since you need to bring all the things you’d bring camping, minus toilet paper. Hosts were very responsive and were able to grant us a late checkout since we arrived late on our first day. The canoe and kayaks were great, grill had propane, and the bed was very comfy. It was easy getting used to no running water. I’d definitely stay again! Just remember to bring paper towels, cups, utensils, dish soap (or use the hand sanitizer provided), etc. Washing dishes was the hardest thing without running water, but we made do easily. Shower was cold but refreshing!

Even better than the pictures! The perfect vacation spot - serene ocean breezes, cozy and comfortable house, close to everything. A dream!
