Guests should be prepared for a bit of a disheveled place but gregarious and welcoming hosts who have led a fascinating life. You’ll meet ducks, chickens and sheep - all of whom would like to come inside with you. Brian is delighted to explain the features of their Earthship (our primary interest). These kind hosts toured us around the town and took us for an evening walk to look for glow worms. Guests share a bathroom closed off with just a curtain and featuring a composting toilet.

I have no words that can make justice to such a beautiful landscape. I feel super lucky to have done this stay and the trek. Everything was excellent and way above expectations. Thanks a lot Tom and Katie for keeping this track maintained and allowing people to hike in your land. You are very generous.

It was a privilege to stay in Beth & Mike’s rammed earth home. It’s located in a stunning valley beside the Motueka River and the house was so charming and comfortable. We based ourselves there while cycling the Great Taste Trail and it was a wrench to drag ourselves away each day because the house was so lovely. The mound behind the house was great for drinks and picnics and the apple and pear trees were laden with fruit. The friendly chook was an added feature. Thank you so much!

Immediately feel at home in this fascinating little cottage, built out of natural materials and decorated with art & creations that give it a unique and cosy feel. Our host left us a special little welcoming gift of fresh baked bread which we absolutely loved, while enjoying the delightful evening watching the cows in the field. The pub was friendly and the store was very interesting. Definitely a memorable experience, highly recommend especially if you are a creative or inquisitive person. Beautiful yurt high up in the hills. Easily one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I’ve ever slept. The facilities are very basic and the composte toilet is definitely something to consider but the beauty of surrounding areas is a great trade off for this. It can be very misty with no view but when there is a view it is simply heavenly.

We had a great time there. Ben makes Gin and we had a great tasting as part of the stay. Great experience.

Beautiful spot and comfy, flexible accommodation. No problems with being off the grid. Enjoyed the hot tub.

We had the most restorative and peaceful stay at Donna and Dave's place! Their straw bale home was tranquil, beautifully designed, and had amazing views. Donna was a super responsive host. We highly recommend them!

Sharlene was an amazing host, her place was exactly as per the discription and all the facilities were working. The kitchen blew us apart with the amount of items it had, felt like a home. Our group felt sad in leaving the place and wished we had stayed here gor longer. Hoping that we will revisit this place again in future

The three nights we spent at Alpine Lodge was not nearly long enough to enjoy all the lovely facilities. The teens (and dads) loved the games room. Well laid out, very welcoming home. Bathrooms are fabulous.

Such a great home to stay in. We were two families and it worked perfectly! Plenty of everything that you need. Kids loved the games room and plenty of towels were provided which is needed with kids in and out the spa! Fireplaces were amazing with plenty of wood! There is nothing that they could have done differently! This will be our go to Queenstown home!!! Excellent amount of space for everyone to relax and have fun in!

Love the design of the house, the host must have put lots of thoughts into designing such a classy house and such a peaceful location. Could have some more fans inside the house to improve ventilation given we could not always open the door in order to prevent the insects flying in - it was fine during the night but could be an issue during hot summer day. We were out during the day so it wasn’t really a problem for us. Overall we love the place and thank you team for the responsive support!

A very comfortable house, with such good vibes, welcoming from the off! A fabulous view to contemplate over a wine and dinner in the evenings. Communication with Rachel was easy before and during our stay. She was very accommodating. We recomment you tap into her wealth of knowledge regarding the local area. The house worked perfectly for our family. We had our own private spaces during our stay if we wanted to escape for some quiet time. We loved the private courtyard and spent many hours socialising out there. The master suite with huge wardrobe and fabulous bathroom with a wall to the plants outside in the private courtyard was pretty fabulous, as was the downstairs setup of two bedrooms with a private lounge and bathroom. Just perfect for our adult son, his wife and their daughter. We all enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back again later in the year. 10/10 🥰
