Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

Trata-se de uma casa de família, muito bem mantida e recuperada. A casa tem todas as comodidades e mais algumas. A anfitriã assegurou uma excelente comunicação e a senhora que nos recebeu (D.ª Silvina) transborda simpatia. Ainda tivemos direito a alguns miminhos, que foram a cereja no topo do bolo. Muito obrigado por tudo!

The absolute Comfiest bed in the most serene surroundings. A must needed respite after a multi-day festival. The church bells and the mewling cows brought peace and joy to my soul.

All in all a very nice stay. The house is very spaceous.

Such a beautiful view of the ocean would be more than enough to give this place 5 stars. However I must add that the host was outstanding in his kindness and hospitality too. We were collected and taken to the house and made to feel so welcome. A perfect place to stay on our Camino journey

Casa muito confortável e com vista espectacular! Passeios a pé a partir de casa muito bonitos (viver o Douro). O anfitrião foi muito atencioso!

Adorei ficar em Vila Coura, ficaria outra vez definitivamente. A Célia foi encantadora, muito prestável. Deu-nos facilidade para fazer o check-in à hora que nos conviesse, explicou-nos tudo direitinho sobre o espaço, os pequenos-almoços, etc, mostrou-se super disponível para atender a qualquer um dos nossos pedidos a qualquer hora. O quarto era muito confortável, limpo e bonito. Tínhamos lenha para acender a lareira e tivemos um ambiente super agradável. A água é bem quente também e a cama super confortável. Recomendo vivamente!

Las indicaciones para llegar al alojamiento fueron estupendas, llegamos sin problemas, además nos planificó la estancia de maravilla, indicándonos tanto actividades como lugares que visitar, además de recomendarnos distintos restaurantes. La vivienda no tiene ni un pero, todos los servicios que puedas desear los tenía, y qué decir de los detalles que nos dejaron. En definitiva, recomendable al máximo por la ubicación, las vistas, la tranquilidad y sobre todo la atención. Muchas gracias Fabio.

L'appartement est parfait mais l'emplacement est surtout incroyable. Les propriétaires sont très gentil et nous on donné plusieurs activités à faire lors de notre séjour. Je recommande fortement.

Excelente local otima vista, por do sol do estudio é excelente, tirando aos arredores com muitos andarilhos, que se instalam nas escadas do estacionamento a frente, deixando o local do estacionamento com segurança duvidosa e com mal cheiro. o Oh! Porto esta muito bem localizado proximos aos principais pontos turisticos da região do Porto!

Myself and my 2 kids stayed in the apartment for two weeks. The newly renovated apartment is very spacious for the size that it is, and immaculately presented upon arrival. The location is very central, which certainly has its benefits. Despite its proximity to all the entertainment, the apartment is tucked away and is very well insulated from the noise and light. Our visit was during the summer holiday, so it can get very busy. My only criticism is that parking directly outside was a challenge. However, this isn’t much of a problem if you don’t intend to drive around and if you don’t mind to walk a bit! A super practical and comfortable stay…. I’ll certainly be visiting again :) Lu

No es la primera vez que elegimos este alojamiento. Siempre hemos quedado muy satisfechos. La ubicación es genial y la atención de los anfitriones es inmejorable, siempre están ahí para lo que necesites o para que tu llegada sea cómoda y fácil. Lo recomiendo 100%.

We were extremely impressed by the detail that went into this apartment. Everything had been carefully taken into consideration. Alexandra went out of her way to make sure that her guests were taken care of. She provided extras that we did not expect like snacks, milk, bread, butter, jam, fruit, coffee, sugar, cocoa, biscuits and water. She thought of everything that would welcome and make her guests feel that their needs were met. Her apartment is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The location is ideal. The only drawback was the noise and screaming from the school directly opposite. If you need a siesta, then this will pose a problem. However, despite that, she is the perfect host and we are very happy to stay with her again. We highly recommend this place.

Todo fenomenal,sitio impecable, tal como aparece en las fotos. La comunicación perfecta, todo muy a mano sin tener que coger coche. La estancia ha sido inmejorable. Desde luego volveríamos a repetir y lo recomiendo para todas aquellas personas que quieran visitar Vigo.

Nicolás fue muy amable y nos dió todos los detalles del apartamento. También nos oriento en qué ver y donde comer en la zona y atendió todas nuestras solicitudes. El apartamento estaba impecable, muy buen recibimiento de Nicolás. Sin duda si vuelvo por la zona repetiré y lo recomiendo muchísimo. Gracias Nicolás

De passage pour un mariage au Portugal, nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Hôte très accueillant, propreté irréprochable, hôte très serviable. Nous avons passés un très bon séjour.

Amazing and perfect getaway from the city to the peaceful countryside. This house was all what we wanted! Juan was very communicative and Graça who met us there made us feel immediately at home. Her breakfasts were amazing and beautiful organised. Definitely recommend. We will come back in the summer as well.

Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

Adoramos nossa estadia na pousada da Helena e da Tânia. O quarto que ficamos era super confortável e limpo. Gostávamos de ficar na sala da casa que era muito bonita e aconchegante e Helena sempre ascendia a lareira para ficar quentinha . O pequeno almoço é muito bom. Sem falar que adoramos as anfitriãs Helena e Tânia, super atenciosas, amáveis, dava sempre dicas de lugares e restaurantes . Esperamos poder voltar uma outra vez .

Our stay at Quinta Dos Carqueijais was a perfect 10/10! We chose the Villa das Oliveiras, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. It truly feels like you're immersed in the forest with beautiful views of the lake. The entire property is seamlessly integrated with nature, creating an idyllic setting for complete disconnection. The accommodation itself is stunning, perfectly equipped, and incredibly comfortable—far better than what you might expect from the photos. The breakfast is plentiful, with great attention to detail. Additionally, we had the chance to enjoy the spa facilities, which include a jacuzzi, sauna, massages, and a heated indoor pool, all at a very competitive rate. Quinta Dos Carqueijais is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion near the Peneda-Gerês National Park

Loved everything about this place. Inês was a wonderful host, she was friendly and welcoming, ensuring our stay was comfortable from start to finish. The property is a beautiful oasis, perfect for a countryside retreat. I couldn’t recommend this place more (If I could give 6 stars, I would!)

There are very few places that can live up to the moniker of a truly special location. It take a rare blend of a thoughtful beautiful space, impeccable service, and genuine/ super friendly hosts. My only regret about writing this review is that I am sure once people discover this gem I will find it very difficult to find an available opening again as it is sure to be in high demand. Enrico and his entire family are the perfect hosts, the included simple breakfast of fresh bread, yogurt, fruit and assorted cheese is such a nice treat to wake up to every morning and partake in their amazing Dining Room. I can't recommend highly enough trying their tasting dinner in the evening, as Enrico apparently is a 1 start rated Michelin Chef and the food is amazing. Even if you don't book a room to stay in you should go to the restaurant one evening if you are in Porto. My room was spotless, very comfortable and beautifully laid out. Super Comfortable Bed as well. This place is special.
