Our weekend was amazing. The main floor is large and very open and made it easy for our group to hang out and eat together. The lake is literally just 25 feet or so away from the house. It is February, so we were mostly inside, but quite a few of our high schoolers did jump in the water a few times for a polar plunge. Great value in the off season, great house, and great hosts.

The house was exactly as advertised. Incredibly clean and well stocked. Easy to get in and even smelled great. The kitchen was equipped with EVERY utensil we possibly needed. We were only able to use the paddle boards on our last day due to weather but they were great when we did. Also enjoyed a campfire and saw a million stars on clear nights. Overall we loved the place and felt right at home.

Absolutely beautiful views of Lake Gaston, extremely comfortable home, with great amenities (including a great dock, terrific fire pit, and a very spacious enclosed front porch). Furnishings were very nice and kitchen was well-appointed. We had a great time and appreciated Jacob's hospitality.

The home was very comfortable, clean, and beautifully updated. The large screened in porch allowed us to enjoy a lovely view in a quiet location of the lake. Landscaping and dock area were attractive and provided lots of fun. It was obvious the owners took great pride in providing thoughtful amenities for their guests to have an enjoyable experience. The only thing that didn’t work for us was taking our boat out of the water there on the property. The gravel driveway made it too difficult to get the traction needed to pull trailered boat up steep incline. The alternative was to drive approximately 10 minutes to Buddle Creek Wildlife Boat Launch to trailer boat upon departure. We enjoyed our stay at this High Rock Lake home and hope to rebook next year.

Our stay was great, super peaceful and very privacy. Lots of room for family and friends to share a space. Everything was within a short drive.

We had a great stay and enjoyed the spaciousness of the home. It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the upper deck as well as the fire-pit and patio. We all agreed it would be fantastic to stay in the summertime.

This was such a lovely Airbnb! Squeaky clean, walkable to beautiful Lake Junaluska and just a few minutes to hiking and downtown Waynesville. You can really tell Steve and Susie want their guests to have a five star stay with so many thoughtful touches such as bottled water, coffee, tea, half and half, biscotti’s card games and an abundance of books and guides about the area. There was a private table and chairs outside for a glass of wine or a meal which we loved and the bed was so comfortable. We visit this area often and we are so glad we have found our home away from home in Waynesville. Thank you Steve and Susie for hosting us! Blessings, Steve and Amy

This quiet spot was just right for two. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the birds in the nearby trees.

Rick and Judy were amazing! Place was immaculate with priceless views while sipping your morning coffee! Beautiful location and neighborhood! Will definitely be back and will have to take Rick up on that boat ride next trip! Cant wait to go back!

This was our second stay at Carolyn’s wonderful Airbnb, and it was just as perfect as the first! The lake views are absolutely stunning—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect getaway. Carolyn is a fantastic experienced host, thoughtful and welcoming. It felt like coming back home. Our dog got to join us, and he loved it just as much as we did! If you’re traveling with a dog, you can’t beat the accommodations of Carolyn‘s place. It’s so nice to find a place that’s both pet-friendly and convenient and nice and truly relaxing for humans. We can’t recommend Carolyn’s home high enough and will definitely be back again. Thank you, Carolyn, for another amazing visit!

Amazing! The bed was so comfortable and we loved the sitting area in the bedroom. Very quiet! We loved the view overlooking the lake. Very close to restaurants and downtown Asheville. Staci and Tricia have a wonderful space that is very relaxing and comfortable. Plenty of towels and essentials you may need. Staci and Tricia were very responsive and great hosts!! we met them in our first couple days of staying there and we felt like we have known them for a long time. Great place and can’t wait to come back and stay.

Myself my boyfriend and my dog stayed and it was amazing. Gorgeous views and lake to walk around. Very clean and organized. Very close to downtown and other activities. We enjoyed our stay and the host kept in contact when we had questions. We would absolutely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. From kayaking to sipping coffee on the back porch, it was great. The beds were so comfy, and the kitchen was stocked with all the needs to make it easy to enjoy a cooked meal. We will return!

The location and setting were everything we hoped for. We were able to get to all of the communities we wanted to investigate and found a couple we really like a lot. The boat house was perfect for us as a home base. Jack was there to greet us when we arrived, showed us the details we needed, and met with us the morning we left. We had a delightful time.

House is beautiful, just as described. Christopher has instructions for everything clearly printed out. The floors and bathrooms were immaculate. Nice appliances and start up items. Many cozy spaces to relax and enjoy family. Fishing off the dock was great, we caught a couple of nice size catfish. The amount of stairs could be challenging if leaving place often, but great for exercise if you’re into that. Other than that a definite 5-star stay. Thanks Christopher and Crystal we loved the cottage.

Charming house on the water in an equally charming town. We came because we had a family event in Elizabeth City, But would be a wonderful longer stay for family. Hope to come back. Linda was very helpful.

We spent a week at Pebbys Place. It was so relaxing. We walked at the State Park and saw an amazing mural there. We took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards, also the barbecue. The house is comfortable and has wonderful views of the lake. We fished, biked, paddled and enjoyed the amazing bird life from the dock and the canal.

It is exactly as it looks in the photos. PERFECT for two. Great location.
