This place was absolutely perfect. Lovely location in a quiet village less than 10 minutes to Durham. It was clean, spacious, and Tom made sure we had everything available, even adding a nice touch of Prosecco and milk. Check in was easy and Tom was quick with communication. Would definitely recommend and we would certainly come back. Thanks Tom!

Great spot! The location could not have been more perfect for walking to family members in the area and shopping. House was ideal for our family of 4. The Christmas decorations made us feel right at home as we were so far away from Arizona. House was very clean as well. Thank you for being so responsive.

A few minutes walk away from the train station which was ideal. Plenty of parking too. The house itself is very spacious and welcoming, nice touch with the box of games - my son and I played quite a few during our stay. Would return.

Excellent accommodation, lovely kitchen and shower rooms. Clean and well equipped. I would definitely like to stay here again, only sorry I couldn’t stay for longer as could have explored the area more. Love the Northumberland coast 🥰

Sandra was the perfect host, very friendly messages, clear and informative instructions. Lots of ideas of places to go including Liosi’s cafe which didn’t disappoint, a banging breakfast and a takeaway meal from there later on. We walked along Hadrians Way to the Quayside which took about an hour but a great walk with our dog. A great house with everything we needed and more, treats on arrival for us and the dog which was lovely.

Had a two night stay for my partners birthday. We wanted a home away from home, local to the hussle & bussle of Newcastle & this place certainly didn’t disappoint. The decor was lovely & made it very homely. For a small property (as advertised) the property had everything plus more that we needed. Lottie kept in touch with us prior & was very friendly & helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay

Holly House was a lovely Victorian Terraced House, which was spacious, decorated in a modern style, with a fantastic bathroom, and extra loo downstairs, the kitchen was modern and had more than we needed. There was also a garage and a backyard which was great for our dog poppy. The 3 bedrooms were great and enough room for all of us, there was only 4 adults (2 couples), as our 5th person sadly couldn't make it. We had milk, water, orange juice and croissants upon arrival which was a nice extra touch. It was ideal for us as a family and would recommend to other family if they are wanting to stay in the North East, it was a great base for us to attend a family occasion.

We had a lovely stay for 2 nights at this beautiful and cozy home. It was so well organised and felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We loved the charming decor and all the thoughtful details. Anthony was a wonderful host- approachable, kind, and very helpful. His clear instructions made everything smooth and stress free. The nearby forest walks were really nice, and the stream running through the woods made it so refreshing. The local people were friendly and helpful. The house itself was such a delight that we can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay. WOW - what a beautiful home!!! An absolute gem * For context - it was myself, my partner, two boys (4 and 2 years old) & our cavapoo. There was ample space for us all regarding bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge space. The home was tastefully decorated in keeping with the local beach aswell as spotlessly clean. NOTHING was too much for our hosts who were simply magnificent given the fact this is a relatively new venture for them. You would think this operation has been running for years based on the quality and efficiency of everything from booking and recommendations. The beach is quite literally a stones throw away and we made a beeline for this every morning after breakfast. Great start to the day! We had a 60 minute drive to Whitby with the family which was thoroughly enjoyable for some stunning Fish & Chips and crabbing for the boys to partake in. Some spectacular views driving down the coast past Redcarr and Saltburn. We would definitely come back again! BOOK BOOK BOOK IT!

Lovely caravan - easy check-in with lockbox, and parking space next to caravan. Lots of extra thoughtful touches inside that made it feel very home-from-home (board games, DVDs, even a jar of biscuits!), extra blankets, lovingly decorated, and the essentials were there too so we could get comfortable straight away (I’ve stayed in some places where there wasn’t even one toilet roll, hand soap, or washing up liquid!) The location was nice, The view out of the lounge window of the sea was lovely, and it’s a short walk to the beach. The site shop etc obviously wasn’t open as it’s out of season, but local shops are a short drive away. Two toilets is a lifesaver with children. The two doors into the main bathroom from the hall and the master bedroom gave us a giggle as I thought it was a cupboard - remember to lock both doors if using the main toilet haha! But space-wise, it is a clever idea. Midday checkout was really useful too, less rush! Would definitely stay again, thanks for having us!

Caravan was immaculate and very homely loved the added touches. The Seaview was a bonus as the children loved it. Our family enjoyed our Christmas in the caravan was a lovely experience. Would definately recommend to others. Great host 5*.

Love this place, right by the beach, and a beautiful beach too. The host was so responsive and helpful from start to finish. The place was immaculately clean, just as described, lovely and warm with all the utensils and appliances working exactly as they should. Easy to walk to town, with a Co-Op and pubs and restaurants there. Shower pretty good too. Family bathroom and a small but useful en-suite to the main bedroom

We had a relaxing stay at Pebbles. Situated in a very picturesque park overlooking the sea and the wind turbines which I felt were quite mesmerising! The park itself has everything you need from entertainment, pool and restaurants. The beach was fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed the rock pools and scenery. Lots to do in the area especially if you like castles and history. We would recommend a stay at Pebbles.

We booked for only 2 nights with not much notice. Great set up for the 3 of us. Could have spent longer there. Not easy to find initially but Jamie responded with remarkable swiftness! Appreciated the flexibility on check out as well. All good.

Had a wonderful bank holiday weekend away for my daughter’s 4th birthday at Malcolm’s home from home. Great location, caravan exactly as described and had everything you would need. Malcolm provided quick and clear instructions and even went above and beyond to inform us of local activities going on that might have been of interest to us during our stay. Would highly recommend as a base for exploring the local area. Thanks Malcolm, great host 10/10

Thank you! We had a great stay. We felt very welcome. We feel great affection for the ‘Barn on the Bay’ as our daughter got married there two years ago and we still felt the warmth! It’s also a glorious location for sunrises, sunsets and the skylarks singing above! Thanks again xx

Our second stay in ‘Close Quarters’. Extremely clean and tidy house which had great facilities. Great location as only a short walk to Morpeth train station. Will be back next time we visit friends in the area. Thank you!

The flat was warm and cosy on arrival and remained so despite the January weather. The welcome gift was a lovely touch. The front windows caught the winter sun all day, with great views over the Tyne. It was comfortable, relaxing and quiet, just what was needed. The location is excellent for all the village amenities and for the metro station, perfect for trips out to the wider Tyneside area with its wide variety of interesting places. The acid test is whether we'd go again - the answer is a resounding yes.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean and tidy. Nice area and very quiet, garden and hot tub were very private. Has everything and more that we needed. Paid for decorations for birthday party and it was above expectations. Left a little treat for the dog too which was lovely. Would 100% recommend, and would go again.

The cottage was perfect. The kitchen had everything you need, lovely cooking wear and home from home utensils. The log fire (courtesy logs) was beautiful. Really cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable with plush bedding. I have read other reviews and I can honestly say the location was extremely quiet. Yes it’s on a residential street but it was peaceful and both my friend and myself could park our cars right outside. My 6 month old puppy loved it and was well behaved given her new surroundings. Thank you Doreen for your recommendations of dog friendly pubs and excellent communication.

We had a wonderful stay at Joannes home! It is so perfectly located to do all we wanted to - seaglass hunting!! Huge benefit to have the parking spot on the front drive. Also huge bonus to be in walking distance to ammenities - asda, pharmacy, home shops and food outlets. Everything we needed was here - a home away from home. The tea/cake/milk was a kind touch. Comfy, clean bright airy base. Comfy sofa and bed. Really well decorated and maintained, lovely colour schemes and accents - nothing has been overlooked. Joanne was an attentive host with friendly communication. Wouldn't hesitate to come back if we are ever up North again. Thank you so much!

Me and my partner absolutely loved staying here! The chapel though beautifully renovated has kept all its traditional charm. The hosts were super friendly and it’s the perfect historic base to explore the surrounding areas and Newcastle itself. We will definitely be coming back! ✨
